IfAt this point the answer is on the roster or we wait until 25.

If Coleman is more Keenan Allen than Kelvin Benjamin.

If Shakir is ready to step up to be a younger Diggs.

If Samuel can be the Curtis Samuel mold.

If we can get something out of Shorter..

If Kincaid can take a major role in the game plan.

If Brady can make it work

I predict Shorter will give us 500 yards. If Shorter was healthy last year, Diggs would’ve been whining more due to fewer targets.  Coleman and Shorter will put some bruises on CBs.

Yea Coleman is going to be a starter. I guarantee it unless he gets hurt in training camp or something. They are going to take another WR, I said that in multiple other posts. They will do it tomorrow.

I also don't believe that just going full firepower offense is the way to beat the Chiefs. Every game against the Chiefs is a story in each game.

The first time they played they weren't ready for the moment and got overwhelmed by a better more experienced team despite taking an early lead.

The 2nd game we put up 36 Points on offense and lost the game because our defense couldn't get off the field and coaching blunders

Last years game was a tightly contested battle where we were highly injured and the Chiefs made more big plays than the Bills down the stretch of the game.

Really 2 out of the 3 games was simply the Chiefs came through in the clutch and the Bills didn't. The Bills need to make the plays in the right moments against the Chiefs on offense, defense and special teams. They have failed in all 3 phases in them in their 3 separate playoff outings.

Great analysis.  We are close.  Chiefs are not on another level.  They’re not our daddy.  JA17 faced a better D than Mahomey, but that won’t be true next time.   Our day will come.

Use the same rationale for Beane trusting his evaluators instincts. Do you think if the Bills had a first round grade on worthy or Leggette they wouldn’t have taken him? They have a plan. Trust our GM and if in three years he gets fired because this draft was a disaster and it lead to losing then we will know won’t we. Truth is we just don’t know.

even though we have lots of NFL caliber talent evaluators here.

    🤡🤡🤡

I haven’t seen this GM do a CJ or EJ yet, until then, let the process roll!

I'm sure you can at least understand the skepticism. People here have been banging the drum about getting Josh better weapons for a long time now, and every offseason the front office defenders have said that we have players that will break out and that we have "enough". But it hasn't been, for years now. And we now lost Diggs.

I think if we get Coleman or McCockey, and a 4.3 John Brown type burner, Josh will have nuff.  That ball will be flying all over the place.  I’m serious.

  5. All the guys who argued to sell the ranch for one of the top 3 WRs must be like ready to jump off a cliff today. Have a cup of tea and chill.  Hope we end up with Cooper and Coleman.  Shorter will bust out this year.  Maybe bust isn’t the right word.  Should be an exciting year.

A top 10 QB whose team never had both sides of the ball working in the same season. Not elite but he had the tools to win a SB.

Similar to Jim Kelly in many ways, but Jim had a much better supporting cast.  It’s interesting that Ryan lost to Pats since he was from there.

Can someone please walk me through this desire two use to high picks on a wide receiver?  We currently have 4 pass catchers we are comfortable with, and opportunities at other positions.  I am fully on board with receiver in the first two rounds, but only the one.  Who is this second receiver going to replace on the field.   1st rounder, Samuel, Shakir, Kincaid, Knox. You could also argue Shorter gets a crack.

I’d much rather see us try to get someone that can push for the FS, RG, HB2, and DL depth than a 6th pass catcher

Totally agree Virg.  We need Verse, Latu or Chops to pressure Mahomey. We’re not getting elite WR at 28, but we can get Legette or Coleman in 2nd.  I see Shakir, Samuels and Shorter getting 500+ each.

    Fair enough

I guess, any of those guys (along with Newton) would be playing no more than 40-50% of the snaps. On the edge Von, Rousseau and Epenesa will play a lot. Jonathan and Toohill will play some too. On the interior, Ed O, Daquan, Austin Johnson and Deshawn Williams will all play. Obviously, a 1st will play quite a bit but the point being, they’ll be fine either way. Could they be better? Sure.

On the boundary, they are lacking 2 starters and 200 targets. Those guys are going to play, at minimum, 80% of the snaps. They’re going to have the ball thrown to them, A LOT. When Allen is the reason that you win or lose, you need to support him so that he doesn’t have to keep doing it all by himself.

Good points but I don’t see us getting an elite WR at 28, but we have a better chance of getting Verse, Latu or Chops.  I would take one of them if the top 3 WRs are gone.  Anyone available at 28 wouldn’t be the difference maker we need.  It depends how the draft falls.  Should be interesting.

So we are prioritizing a rotational DL above a #1 (and #2 for that matter) WR? The Bills still have about 200 targets unaccounted for and no boundary WRs (except Hollins & Shorter). Sorry, I don’t see it. As far as needs right now, I see it as:

    WR1

    WR2

    everything else

I know that is the consensus here but Mahomey hopes our D stays same or gets worse.  Their D is approaching elite and ours scares nobody.  We need Verse, Latu or Chop.  One of these will make Mahomey throw a pick or two.  At 28, we don’t get an elite WR, and I don’t see us selling the ranch to get one.

I'm not worried about the D as long as Milano comes back healthy.

As far as leaders, I recall when we traded for Rasul Douglas he was praised by MANY of his Packers teammates as being a strong leader. I expect him to naturally step up. Bernard in his second year running the defense is a natural guy to step up. Edwards has won 2 Super Bowls. Rapp has a ring. Lots of experience there.

I think what we miss out on as far as the steady leadership we had will be offset by fresher legs.

One other thing I think that's going to be unpopular. We lost former team captains in Morse, Diggs, Poyer, Hyde, Matakevich ect...but that's not always a bad thing. Just because someone is a leader doesn't mean they lend the right kind of leadership or leadership that can get you to the next level. This was an evolution that needed to happen.

Agree!!  Change over is good in an organization that didn’t meet goals.

The questions on defense might be overblown. Both safety spots are really the only positions with significant change. While Hyde and Poyer were great in their time with the team, there is no denying they were both old last season by safety standards. Not out of the question that we are not losing much at all by moving on from both in the grand scheme of things.

As @Kirby Jackson noted, the defense in particular has played a lot of games in the McDermott/Allen era without key defensive pieces for long stretches. Losing  Floyd, Hyde and Poyer likely doesn't mean much in the grand scheme of things.

I get concerned about the defense in the postseason every year though.

Gotta do D line in first, then get Legette and/or Coleman.  Jets look tough but we’ll win division. Just need a couple more plays to get by KC.  We can beat any NFC team.  Any questions?

Relieved? I read on this message board today that Josh Allen is about to demand a trade to the Rams after the 2025 season due to the details of his contract and his hatred of Sean McDermott. Josh Allen has never given any indication of being unhappy playing in Buffalo and he went to bat for McDermott, but that doesn't stop fans from speculating that he hates it there. But Bills fans are a unique bunch. They play out every scenario, identify the worst possible outcome, and then convince themselves that the worst outcome is inevitable.  I think that most of it is an inferiority complex derived from living in WNY, but it rubs off on fans who have never lived a day of their life in Buffalo. I think that we are unique in this. Nobody in Green Bay (a city much smaller and more isolated than Buffalo) is discussing Jordan Love's coming trade demand to the Niners and no one in Cincinnati is playing out Joe Burrow trade demand scenarios to Miami if the Bengals don't win a super bowl in the next few years. And that's with Jordan Love being from Bakersfield and Joe Burrow having said that Cincinnati is "boring."

FWIW, I'm still pissed off at Diggs for this stunt, Beane for giving in to his demands, and the entire Bills organization for allowing it to get to that point. Josh needs to learn how to deal with diva WRs because all of the great ones act like that. So if he's relieved, he better not get too comfortable because if whoever we draft becomes as good as Diggs, he will start acting like a diva. It's only a matter of time.

Ok, let’s list great WRs that were/are not divas.  I got nothing.

Well Stef, I get your point, you want to win more than anybody else, so why exactly you basically disappeared in all of our last 3 playoff exits?

I’m good enuff, smart enuff, and doggone people don’t like me.

    Lemme ask this question:

do you think Beane Traded Diggs because he told Beane Josh doesn’t work hard enough and doesn’t have what it takes to win the superbowl ? FYI don’t agree with that but could that be what got him traded?

More likely he told Beane “I’ve been go to guy around here.  I see the wall handwriting next year that I’ll be second fiddle which will hurt my pride.  I’d rather be second fiddle somewhere else.  Help me please.”
