From the limited time game play. Cincy was going to blow our doors off .
and now - we’ll have a 3rd string fs. Who knows about our cb3/LB3 starter
As every GDT can confirm, in every single game, there’s a portion of time where it looks like one side is literally unstoppable.
Then they are stopped. Sometimes it takes them a quarter to get back in rhythm.
They were at home against the golden boys, ready for playoff football and they were FIRED UP. They even wanted the ball 1st!
We were in the middle of taking their best punch when DH went down.
While of course it’s possible, I doubt the entire game would’ve had the same energy and 1-sided momentum as the 1st 1/2 of the 1st 1/4 (1st 1/8?? 😅)

My question is if it's true his heart stopped at hospital does that indicate that the hit to the chest didnt necessarily cause the heart issue. From my understanding based off what these doctors are saying is a hit to the chest causes the heart electrical sustem to get out of whack. But if its started again with CPR or AED then it should go back to normal and its just a case of how much damage is caused. If his heart stopped again does that mean there is something underlying or could the first cardiac arrest cause multiple?
The way my layman’s understanding goes, is that if it was a 1:1,000,000 bad luck hit, then the heart essentially stalled. Meaning it was good to go, freak accident, restart the “engine” and go along on your merry way.
If there were multiple resuscitations, then that takes the freak hit off the list of probable causes.
We need to look at his heart and see what kind of shape it’s in, if there is any scarring/swelling/etc and what may have caused it to understand WTF happened Monday.

Well lets all hope and pray theres not to much grieving going on and Damar shows improvement.
Josh Allen has been in the same situation before after losing a loved one.
and played lights out...
Oh I completely agree and hope you’re 100% correct.
I’ll just say as a combat vet, losing a loved one is absolutely devastating. Watching a friend/teammate go down in the “field of battle” and seeing them getting “worked on” is a completely different trauma.
I know it’s different for everyone, but that’s my experience.

I say forfeit this game AND next week, giving us our bye (technically two as we didn’t play an entire game last night) and take the long road to the SB.
F seeding. F 1st round bye.
But in reality, it may take that long just for the team to grieve and recover enough to want to play the game again.

I’ll be honest… I’m kind of over this season already. Just to think the league wants more games. Not that it would make a difference in this case but there needs to be a 2nd bye week. These dang players go through so much.
We can make our own bye.
Forfeit this week AND next. Grieve. Rest.
Maybe they’ll be ready to play again for the 1st round. Wouldn’t blame them.

Edmunds has had a fine season, but when we were getting gashed by the Dolphins, I felt it was exhibit A of why he shouldn’t get a substantial $14M/yr+ contract after this season. Allocate that money to the offense, specifically OL, and let Bernard or a rookie compete with AJK for the position opposite Milano. Sure the defense won’t be as strong, but seeing as how they never really shut down a top offense, it’s better to get Josh the help he needs to sustain a high level of play.
For a team up against the salary cap, tough decisions will be made…
It’s taken me a few years to get here but I’m on the “Sign TE” side now.
My eyeball tells me that the Bills don’t GAF if you can run on them, because our O can outscore any run game.
We schematically seem to sell out on the pass and essentially hope they “waste a down” by running.
We get gashed by the run occasionally but we rarely get gashed through the air and TE is the key to that.
I’ll admit, I don’t like the approach. VERY frustrating to watch us stay in Nickel as the opponent methodically marches down the field.
The thing is, the opponent drive often stalls as it’s difficult to string that many positive plays in a row.
I don’t think there are many (any?) other LBs in the NFL that ALLOWS us to run the D we currently run successfully.
Like I said, this is all eyeball, but the games w/out TE really helped me see this perspective.

I'll go, but I don't think I'll stay in Phoenix. I'm leaning towards Tucson where the motels aren't all booked up at over a grand a night. I bet $950 on the Bills to win the AFC at +425 (4.25/1) back in February as "Super Bowl Insurance" to pay for most of the ticket, which is currently at around $6,000 for the cheapest seats at NFL On Location. I'm trying to get Petrino to go with me but he's undecided right now.
Wow. That’s a great strategy!

My wife is from Nola, so I was on Bourbon St for the SB Watch / Win celebration.
What an amazing blast of a time!!
I’d MUCH rather take a trip to Buffalo to watch / celebrate with the real fans.
I’m telling you. THAT is the place to be IMO.

Not really. Bears had 29 rushes for 80 yards and Bills had 31 rushes for 254. Bills were moving just fine. Bears not so much.
Yeah my assessment was all gut/recollection and your numbers shoot down my recollection of the Bears abandoning the run compared to us.
That said, the Bears D still seemed a lot less nimble and our RBs seemed like they were able to take advantage.
Like their cuts/cutbacks worked when usually it seems like they don’t.
-
I think the cold weather had a lot to do with our rushing performance. Both Ds seemed to be playing with concrete shoes.
inexplicably, the Bears decided to stop running while we, fighting all team tendencies, kept at it and the score reflected those decisions.
Again, just eyeball observations.

Eyeball/gut answer is that JAs arm allows him to get balls through very tight windows leaving the ball carrier with little to no space to work with once they make the catch.
It’s almost like all the YAC is sucked up in the “air yards” the ball travels.
Im not a stats ninja but perhaps there’s a statistical relationship between air yards and YAC. Meaning more air yards tend to result in less YAC while less air yards tend to result in more YAC.
It would be interesting to see where our pass catchers rank in “air yards/catch”.
I guess what I’m saying is shorter routes equal more YAC and that’s not our game.

Here's a really dumb question - are acl injuries not painful? How do you pass an acl test or play through a blown acl?
I don’t know the answer to your question but these guys are likely doped up prior to the game and get some in-game “treatments” in the tents.
Guys carried/limping into the tent, leave 5 min later “testing the knee” doing sprints on the sideline 😬Im sure there is a cool off period after each game where the “adrenaline” wears off and they start assessing the damage they did that week.

Yeah, at least three guys stopped f'ing around the second they saw coach and Allen got on his horse and never even turned around.
I wonder if it was because they didn't want to get in trouble or because they thought McD had it covered and was about to start locking people into chicken wings.
Obviously both 🤣Stick around and you might find yourself in a chicken wing. Once he gets going, some amount of friendly fire is expected.

How could they tell Pats fans and zoophiles apart?
It must’ve been one of those “Not all pats fans are zoophiles, but all zoophiles are pats fans” thing.-

I wonder if Spencer Brown would have displayed the self-control to pull Dawkins out of there if he hadn't seen McDermott right there.
Lol was thinking the same thing.
The moment a red shirt recognizes McD they instantly turned and walked away.

Gotta keep those knees nice and rested for game day

2. With that being said, it's noticeable how much better scripted plays and open routes these other teams are able to generate on the field. On almost half the offensive plays, it seems like the opposing QB's are able to find their receiver within their first two reads, while Josh is out there making things up on the fly.
I think this is a result of the Bills being the #1 team in the AFC. We’re consistently getting their best shots, while we’re trying to save our best stuff for the playoffs.
They empty their shelves, going against tendencies, setting up plays w/formations and motion, all trying to get an edge against one of the best teams in the NFL.
We, on the other hand are trying to establish tendencies to be exploited in the post-season. We’re saving our easy plays for 3rd and 6 in the AFCCG or beyond.
Im HOPING that we’re “saving our powder” and that we’ll see the unleashed Bills O in Jan.

especially during the games now. Those sideline interviews are such useless interviews. McDermott gives one-word answers. Mike McDaniel spat out a bunch of gibberish that no one understood. Just let these guys coach.
I think these interviews are relics of an earlier age in sports-watching.
In the information/data overload age we’re currently in, the sideline interview offers no new info or insight.
What would it be replaced with?

I was 100% happy with the decision.
If we can control the last play of the game, you do it. It was a 25(ish) yard FG, in the middle of the field and as others were mentioning, the footing seemed to be pretty good.
Bass looked comfortable with his practice “swings” and the O had two timeouts to clear whatever surface snow accumulated.
That said, until I saw the kick split the uprights, I was planning out OT in my head like a good Bills fan 😅😁

Man he’s really turned it around this year. I’ve been pretty down on TE to this point but I’ll admit, he won me over.
The way I’ve grown to understand this D, it requires a space eating plug/DT(s) in the middle and a MLB capable of taking away the middle of the field.
The CB’s, S’s and to some extent the DEs are all system players.
Put me in the Must Sign camp for now.
