  1. Defensive pass interference would be committed all the time in the pros if it was 15 yards!

It would be absolutely horrible to strategically rob big play after big play because you can't make a play on the ball. This has been discussed plenty of times by people in the sport. They voted on whether or not to change it in 2015, but opted overwhelmingly not to.

This year, the Bills actually benefited more from PI in total yardage than they were hurt by it, as they committed 107 yards in PI calls and gained 110 yards from PI committed against them.

If there's any change relating to PI that NEEDS to be done, it's allow it to be a reviewable penalty that can be challenged! That would resolve so much crap, it's a genuine shock it hasn't happened already.

Those who run a spread, air raid offenses will have higher percentages as they typically throw to a spot, not guys in motion.

It’s why Texas Tech QB’s threw for godly numbers but can’t be an NFL backup

Texas Tech has 2 guys in the NFL with one about to be. Mahomes was a 1st rounder last year, Davis Webb is loved by the Giants and was picked in the 3rd round, and Baker Mayfield is going to be a 1st round pick this year. They all started at Tech and played the same offense throughout their college careers, however Mayfield & Webb split due to behind the scenes issues & anger over not being the starter.

Not sure what this means for the NFL.  It confirms what has already been speculated--it's not about the known events (concussions), it's an accumulation of hits, starting in youth.

While it may further give pause to parents considering tackle football for their kids, it should help insulate the NFL from claims that NFL football caused any player's CTE type disease.

I thought this was always known? Haven't experts been saying for a while that positions like O-line & D-linemen are most at risk since they take direct smaller hits to the head on every single play? Concussions just contribute to damage already being done over & over & over from every hit throughout the game/season.

  4. It'll take at LEAST a 2nd.

Hell, the Vikings traded a 1st and 4th for Bradford...and Smith is better, stays healthy, and more consistent than him.

Smith isn't exactly "young," but he's still only 33, and as we've seen QB's play at a high level for quite a while longer these days.  To put that in perspective, Drew Brees is 39... so imagine if we had Drew Brees from age 33-39. That's a LOT of good/great seasons from that age onward. Smith could potentially play until he's 39 as well, so there's still SOME upside, even if he isn't intended to be the long term answer.

I'd rather have a competent offense to at least give some semblance of help to our very good defense.

  5. First off, he's a guy that commands franchise tag money already and isn't happy with it, so imagine how much we'd have to spend to lock him up long term.

Second, neither back wants to not start. Even if they were to get even carries, only one would be considered the starter.

Third, unless we are planning to draft and or sign in free agency some amazing O-line talent, it wouldn't be worth the investment. And locking up multiple backs with big money could be awful (see Philadelphia a few years ago...and they had a GREAT line).

Bon Jovi on Howard Stern today talking about the Bills...

On @sternshow Jon Bon Jovi confirmed rumors that Trump planted story about Bon Jovi wanting to move the Bills to Toronto. Jon said he would have left the team in WNY, He was going to move there.

Bon Jovi then praised the job Pegula is doing with the team. He said Trump started the Bon Jovi free zones. He called it evil genius what Trump did.

Bon Jovi said he was disappointed he didn't get the team and fully believes the story that Trump started the move to Toronto rumors.

More on Bon Jovi on @HowardStern He said it would have been a lifelong committment if he owned the Bills and has now given up dreams of owning an NFL team.

Here's the thing, it doesn't matter if he was never going to move the team. His offer for the team was dwarfed by what the Pegula's offered, therefore he lost.

Him and Trump both bid less than $1 billion, while the Pegula's went $1.4 billion. Money talks, and that was the deciding factor.

In 2016, he played very well for the Vikes.  In fact, he had a career year - in his 2nd full season since 2012.

Then he went out for good after injuring his knee after 2 games in 2017 - the same injury that cost him half a season in 2013, then reinjured in preseason and out for all of 2014.

It's not like it was a fluke and unlikely to happen again.  One time is an occurrence, twice is a concern, and three times is a pattern spelling out "can't count on this guy at QB"

Bingo. No matter how much POTENTIAL he has, the risk is too high. If they could sign him to compete while also having a real contingency plan in case of injury, sure. But paying big money and signing him as the unquestionable starter is an absolute NO.

  8. Did you really even ask "why not Sam Bradford?"

There's one OBVIOUS reason, and nobody has to explain it to you at all.

Injuries. That's it. Without discussing a single other aspect of his career, INJURIES are the #1 answer to "why not?"

    - 2011: INJURED Missed 6 games

    - 2013: INJURED Missed 9 games

    - 2015: INJURED Missed 2 games

    - 2017: INJURED Missed 14 games

He's only played a full season twice in 7 years. Not a good track record.

After today, the Vikings will not let Keenum go. They will keep Teddy as a backup. He gets time to heal up and prove he can be a future guy. Bradford gets a new team.

He's a bit fragile for the Bills to put money into, but I wonder what Daboll thinks about him. I'd take a flyer if the price is right and draft Mayfield.

The other option would be to trade for Smith, but I would not give up anything more than a 3rd and still draft Mayfield provided he falls to 21.

Mayfield & Bradford, two 1st round guys from OU as our QB's...that'd be interesting.

We don't need another Fitzpatrick throwing 50-50 TD's-Picks.  But we also do not need a dude like Tyrod so freaking scared of throwing a pick that he ends up SUCKING.  Let the damn receivers make some plays once in a while for cripes sake.  Tyrod could be GREAT if he took a chance once in a while. WTF is wrong with him.  TRY TO WIN INSTEAD OF TRY NOT TO LOSE!   The guys talented.  But where are his balls?

DIE ON YOUR FEET RATHER THAN LIVE ON YOUR KNEES.

I mean, I'm not going to argue with the content of your post...but the randomness of the timing is weird...

You posted this as if he just played a game or made some horrible play. Why are you posting this now when there are plenty of threads about TT & how bad he is?

    For months, we've heard...

    "You can win with Tyrod!"

    "Scheme an offense around Tyrod!"

"Tyrod is better than like, 20 other QBs!"

After watching frequent punchline Blake Bortles today duel it out with all-time great Ben Roethlisberger, I really honestly want to see that stuff end. It's not really a local thing anymore, but the national media narrative -- especially the criticism and insinuations, if not outright accusations, of racism regarding the Bills and Western New York concerning Tyrod Taylor's time here have no basis in fact or reality.

Even Blake Bortles is capable of playing at an entirely different level than Taylor is.

You forgot "it's the O-line's fault!" or "It's the receivers fault!" or "it's the defense's fault!"

Refs, coordinators, HC's, whatever...just not Tyrod.
