  1. I was a daily BBMB reader (and frequent contributor) too. After it shut down, I checked out a few independent Bills message boards and found this one to be the best. It's really not much different than the BBMB - a lot of good posters with a few trolls chiming in now and then. It doesn't take long to figure out who's in each category.

I don't know if their plan to get more people on their social media pages worked in general, but it didn't work on me. The comments on public Facebook pages seem to have a very low signal-to-noise ratio.

I think Tyrod is one of those quiet lead by example guys. He's first man in every morning for workouts, year round and takes his job seriously. That's what you look for in a captain.

He's definitely a leader by example, but he's not always quiet. I remember one game last season when a lineman was about to get flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct - Tyrod got in his face, talked him down, and saved us 15 yards.

  3. They would definitely call a penalty on that play today....it was Brady!

Yeah I know - that's why I said it shouldn't draw a flag. There's two reasons it probably would anyway: 1) Golden Boy; 2) in real time it looked like he went for the head - it was only in slo-mo that I saw what really happened. (Another reason to allow challenges on penalties.)

  4. Clements over Gilmore. Nate was great; Gilmore is very good but hasn't lived up to his draft status, in my opinion.

And Nate's hit on Brady would not (or at least should not) draw a flag even today. He led with his shoulder and hit Brady in the chest. His shoulder slid up, and that's what knocked the helmet off. And Brady was a runner at that point, not defenseless.

No kidding. I initially scoffed at the old-timers who warned of a coming decline, but it's true that the quality here has dropped markedly in the last month or so.

The BBMB required a certain number of posts before someone could start a thread. I notice that TBD doesn't have that requirement, but we can't add a signature until we've hit 100 posts. That seems odd. Not that I care about the sig, but it seems like you could reduce the bad threads just by requiring a minimum number of posts.

For the record, I haven't created a thread here.
