What a joke that a teams fans lose the home opener to the season. Absolute let down.

Agreed but I believe it is part of their mandatory overseas agreement. Obviously overseas week 1 stinks but I guess you can have a good viewing party and the rest of the year not have to worry about it

  2. lol I am not sure if the final four is even in my top 10. In general I have found CBB increasingly boring, could just be me or less time having kids now. Also even though I am a NOVA fan for CBB who have been good for a long time, locally Cuse has fallen, UB stinks, Bona is up and down, etc... just haven't had much to root for locally to give me a vested interest

But for fun this is my top 5 of sporting events (not including bills):

    1. NHL playoffs (hockey is my favorite sport)

    2. NFL playoffs

    3. NFL opening night/NFL opening weekend in general - tied here

    4. CFB thanksgiving weekend

    5. Masters

Remember when Robert Foster had over 500 yards the final 8 games of the season, and everybody here was saying he was gonna be a 1/2? Kinda feels like that with all the hype Shakir is getting.

That is where I am. "oh Shakir will step up and do this" "Kincaid is gonna be Kelce" "draft pick X and Z will explode" etc.. its hype and excitement but reality can be quite different. Robert Foster was nothing in 2019, it was the establishment of Beasley/Brown that allowed Josh to take a next step.  The truth is the Bills offense had a higher baseline with Diggs then without him and it is 1000% possible the hype that people keep throwing all over just fails the match up. Just because Diggs is gone doesn't mean the replacement is equal and it very well can be worse. It is great they have some nice draft capital the next two years and 2025 they have more cap space, but they currently have the worst skill group at pass catcher since 2018 and even if Josh elevates them they are starting at a tough climb.

We barely did this year and we are exponentially worse at multiple positions. 9-8 season incoming!

The offense is worse at multiple positions, the defense healthy may be equal or better.

The problem is the offense matters wayyyy more and right now the cupboard is as bare as it has been for Josh since 2018 (it is not that bad for the record but certainly is rough). People really need to soften their expectations for the offense as even with two new WRs who could be drafted in the first 3 rounds it typically takes a year just for a player to get seasoned, the o line is in transition with Morse gone, they have a new OC, and even if everything is perfect it still takes time to gel. On paper this is easily the worst the team has been since 2019 and a wildcard is probably a solid season at this point.

  5. Having a franchise QB means you always have a chance... but the size of that chance varies based off the roster and what your going against. Right now the Bills are at best a wildcard team as they seemingly reset the roster. Betting that young players will come in the draft and be immediate impact players is fools gold. Sure maybe 25-26 the impact becomes real, but it takes a good season to truly learn the way of the NFL and with that unless they bring in another top target the offense is limited even with Josh. I am bracing for a non playoff year and if they even make the playoffs it will feel like a positive.

Yeah, I think I was sleep deprived by the end of the season. (Stupid 5 hour time zone difference).

They did have 7 primetime games last year, but the real killer was the three straight at night THEN 4 straight 4pm games with one more primetime game.

22' they had 7 primetime games including thanksgiving, but they only had a single 4 pm game which was far better and the primetime games were spaced out minus the Rams opener and Titans the next week.

The fact the middle of the season was their worst stretch of play AND the large amount of non 1 pm games really pushed the limits haha

For me, it depends.  If we're having Thanksgiving or Christmas with my family, everyone will want to watch the Bills and it will be worked into the day.  If it's with my wife's family, I might look like a heel for ignoring everyone to watch the game, and it creates friction.  Truth be told, I'd MUCH rather ignore everyone and watch football anyway, but I'd likely hear about it for years to come....

I wish the Bills could be the 4pm Thanksgiving game if it has to happen. We drive from Buffalo to Roc for our 2nd dinner which starts at 4 and the year of the Dallas game was basically one massive awesome Bills party. Unfortunately if they play Thanksgiving day its either Detroit or a standalone game at night. Black Friday I actually would not mind as it was kinda cool having a game that day and with CFB imploding their traditional rivalry games or not having as many that day I am ok with the NFL in that spot.

  9. The NFL has announced they are playing two games Christmas Day meaning the prior weekend on Saturday four teams will also play then. The NFL plays three games on Thanksgiving and at least one on Black Friday. Finally week 1 the NFL has at least one Sunday Night game and Monday Night game with the possibility of a second Monday Night Game.

Odds are the Bills being a top 10 team will be in one of these slots this year, which would you pick with that being the case.

I never thought PSLs would go as high as $50k.  There may be a higher turnover than everyone anticipated.  Some people may not even have a choice but to opt out.  That sucks.

The biggest anger which I do get is that if you do not keep the seats you have then you go to the back of everyone until all STHs either renew or also opt. So you will have people that are 20 year STH that are moved to the end of the line because they can't afford their current seats and that could mean they may not get a seat at all.

    13 minutes ago, Gigs said:

Not to be an ass, but if you can't afford this and pay for it over 30 years, how do people afford vehicles, where you end up paying way more than the sticker? And the other ass part: if the people of Buffalo won't buy the tickets, others will. I could see myself getting a 4 pack when the locals drop from the list, if they even do.

I really don't see the Bills having an issue selling every PSL. In fact, the very people who can't afford the PSLs are the very same people who smash tables and get ***** faced before kickoff. They want a cleaner, family-friendly experience which generates more revenue; that's how you cash in.

Coming from Rochester my brother law and I are splitting tickets. Drops the cost in half as we each do 3-4 games and we sell 1 or 2. I can tell you a lot of people will do the same and have zero issue with the cost with it split; those who say it is too much will be replaced (as heartless as that sounds, that is the attitude from the team at this point).

The PSL numbers out there are surprising (and higher than expected). With that being said, I’d like to see the number of tickets at each pricing threshold.

sit in the club by th goal line. I was expecting $12k(ish) for a PSL. Now, I’m expecting $20k but don’t have my time yet. That’s annoying and gives me a little more pause before committing. I almost certainly will but it’s more than I expected for my location/amenities. If I’m paying for it, I want to see what else I’m getting. In London, we say in the “equivalent” of our seats in OP. The buffet was included and food throughout the game. If we are following suit here, it makes it more palatable.

Lastly, there has been a lot of talk about how, “they won’t show you the the pricing options.” My guess, is that none of that has been finalized yet. There is almost certainly an algorithm that states, “if we sell ‘X’ club seat PSLs the lower level PSLs will cost ‘y’ and upper level PSLs will cost ‘z.’” That’s a moving target though. They are working back from the revenue number that they need to hit. The more $50k PSLs are sold, the better off those people later on will be. My $.02

My guess is the club seats were a test balloon for what they could charge and they are basing decisions off of that. Vast majority of people are not club so they probably are seeing what the sentiment is

However, it still remains to be seen how affordable all of this will be.  It will become very difficult for most families to enjoy a game in-person. The game is made for TV though so maybe in the end this will not matter so much.

Affordable will be cheap tickets most can afford. The teams version of affordable vs ours is drastically different unfortunately. But the team is also good now so it’s at a premium. When the up and down days someday return more will be back at a lower price.

We all knew this was coming, but ouch. Not sure how these prices are going to fly in the Buffalo market. It also really highlights the stupidity of not spending more and getting yourself a domed stadium. You're asking people to spend $20,00 to $50,000 for the right to sit and freeze in terrible weather for potentially three out of eight games on the schedule.

You realize this is for club seats not regular seats. Raiders and Vikings who are two recent stadiums with PSLs had the majority 5k or less.

PSLs are nothing new, and Bills fans have been blessed with not having to be in that environment for far longer than most NFL fans.  Those who can afford it will buy, and those who can't, won't, but acting as though one is "owed" something just for being a STH in the cheapest stadium in the country for years comes off as whiny and entitled.

As long as there's a decent product that new stadium is going to be filled...believe me.

Agreed. Buffalo basically went twenty years + now where we haven't been subjected to what the NFL is if you want a team. People would being crying hysterics if they left and forever people said they would do whatever it takes. I have some sympathy that if you had tickets for a long time you may have consider not doing that or a new seat but realistically its the price of having the biggest sport in town. The majority of PSLs for the non club/exclusive seating or top seats well be more realistic to fan costs. The Bills were better off delivering this in a better format which would've quelled angst, but regardless come opening day and for years after the place will be filled and you will have people clamoring to get in.

What I have come to loath is the amount of attention they get because the team is located at the largest media market of the country. The Jets are the little cousin to the Giants in their own city, the longest current playoff drought in the league, and are betting it all on a 41 year old QB coming off of what is a career ending injury to some players. So, of course, they are the favorites.

This is where I am at. The media fawning over an organization that has constantly proven to be one of the worst for decades in football is astonishing. They get a benefit of the doubt in a way virtually no one else does because of NYC.

At a prism I do think they are actually bigger threat currently then Miami as I like a lot of the moves they made compared to Miami and I think they take Miami's playoff spot this year. The defense is solid and offense improved the line while having a good amount of playmakers. I don't think you will ever see MVP Rodgers again, but if he is even top half of the league they will win games and be a thing. With that said there are many reasons to legitimately question what they can do.

No league sells hope like the NFL in the offseason which is what makes it such a fun league.

  15. NFL schedule was released in 2023 on Thursday May 11th, so if they stick with the 2nd Thursday of May it would be the 9th this year as Gregg said ^

Typically a few big games drop in the weeks leading up, many times the international opponents are known prior. The week of the leaks will come out.

I usually cover the schedule to an unhealthy extent (lol hey its my version of mock draft) on what to expect with a decent hit rate on games times etc.. This was my early thread back in February:

    Easily imo

People forget with the cap going up so much and JJ hitting his prime the numbers may seem super high but realistically its just the direction the market is heading. Diggs has been top 3 in WR contract for a few years now, price of doing business.
