  1. I understand the anger and protest against racism and police brutality but I will never understand how destroying property and looting are in any way positive or indicative of any positive outcome against either of those things. I have no argument against peaceful demonstration but to burn and loot in the short term I guess releases anger but its so short sighted . the WHY they are protesting to answer Buffalo Gal is anger, frustration with police brutality and overt racism leading to death,  grief and mob mentality sinking in. The collateral damage does nothing to help at all.

When should the violent protests end?  When all the buildings in Minny are burned to the ground?  When do you think they should end?

she asked what are they protesting I didn't say I think violence or property destruction was a good thing. I think the protesters should disperse. what they are doing  unpeacefully is not as stupid as her question but close.

A federal judge on Monday allowed a federal lawsuit accusing President Donald Trump, his three eldest children and his company of collaborating with a fraudulent marketing scheme to prey on investors to proceed, denying the Trumps' request for a stay.

The lawsuit, originally filed in October 2018 and amended a few months later, alleges that in exchange for "secret" payments, Trump and three of his adult children used his former reality TV show "The Celebrity Apprentice" and other promotional events as vehicles to boost ACN Opportunity, a telecommunications marketing company linked to a nonprofit that used Trump's brand to appeal to teens.

The lawsuit also accuses the Trumps of having profited off the poor and vulnerable, as people looking "to enrich themselves by systematically defrauding economically marginalized people looking to invest in their educations, start their own small business, and pursue the American dream."

  7. @Buffalo_Gal This is how uncorrupt Donald Trump is. Justify this I dare you. The man is as corrupt as it gets. Misusing charitable funds aka stealing from them to benefit himself atta boy Donald

Under a settlement, the president admitted he had used his charity to bolster his campaign and settle business debts.

  8. Expensive mistake. Very. Young and dumb is no great excuse but that’s what this boils down to imo. Time will tell if he grows up learns from this and has no further issues. I’m not so holier than though I’ve done it when I was young and dumb too. I just didn’t have millions in the bank at the time. It probably wouldn’t have made any difference money doesn’t buy maturity. This is a cautionary tale if you go out to party plan ahead bring a designated driver and don’t assume you will make great decisions after drinking when you’re already impaired. Period.

That isn't correct.   The reports have been very clear that Diggs was one of the most intense, competitive team oriented guys at Maryland and in Minnesota.  There's a reason why Diggs is in Buffalo and Dez Bryant and DeAndre Hopkins are not.

I'm glad the Bills vetted him well and I hope your claim is proven correct. Their track record isn''t perfect in free agent signings (Vontae Davis,  KB)  Having said that trust me I really hope that Diggs is proven to be the guy you expect I only want what is best for the Bills not to win a chat forum posting debate.

Thanks Shaw66, excellent read, it takes hard asz desire, intensity and skill to pull of a championship, and that is exactly what SM is creating in Buffalo. As was posted above any team that has us on there schedule knows damn well it’s gonna be a dog fight.

desire, intensity, skill YES.  Of the 3 I think skill trumps the other 2. Which is why I can remember there having been some criticism of the Bills (I think erroneously I might add) not being willing to take a chance on a player if he wasn't seen as a "choir boy" or in other words a 100% fit with the "Process". Well that notion went out the window with the Diggs signing for starters. There's a guy who has been criticized for being outspoken in Minnesota being taken by the Bills and why? Because he was precisely the skillset and type of player that Josh Allen needs to succeed to the next level.  Ithink all 3 of those attributes are important but ultimately its the matchups and finding the best players to suit a teams scheme and winning chemistry will follow.

We have seen Trump’s style on display for 3.5 years now.

We have all been able to cringe when the time is right.  And we have all seen that his words and message delivery and style don’t always match up with the actions of his administration.  If you think Trump makes uninformed decisions then I’d have to disagree with you. Maybe that’s another major failure of Trump’s leadership style that Clark left out: the impression that Trump is acting solely based on his own thoughts without input from anyone else. That’s just untrue, but people believe it all the time.

Thank you for a civil reasonable reply without any personal innuendo back towards my person  I appreciate your candor and insight

    I read it.

I was expecting him to have made suggestions regarding testing, tracking, treatments, developing vaccines. I was also expecting him to propose some reasonable plans toward restarting the economy. Aren’t those things important issues toward taking control of this crisis? The article was absolutely none of that.  It was simply a critique of Trump’s leadership style. Some of what he said is right, but do we need more critiques of leadership style? Or do we need solid plans to deal with the virus while at the same time opening up society?

And I noticed that Clark had two “fourth” points.  He should proofread himself better if he is going to publish an opinion.

I would say the country needs Both snafu. Seriously. The medical side of this issue isn't within the generals  realm of expertise so he didn't speak on that. Which I think is very smart and logical. I wish DT would heed that same advice to be honest.

The whole intro is dedicated to the idea that Trump doesn't take criticism or suggestions well. Dr. Fauci has publicly stated that Trump has listened to all of their suggestions and not interfered with their conclusions. Perhaps the 'advice' would come across better if he opted to skip the personal attacks and just gave the suggestions.

that's fair. Yes I can understand that there are some ways DT leads that aren't seen as "presidential" for example his use of twitter, bombastic personality at play etcas you said he is  who he is.

But also to be fair there were some items mentioned in that piece I thought DT would be well served himself In His Own self interest!

A couple examples: blurting out observations which his experts then have to bob and weave to defend or he later rationalizes he didn't mean....A guy who never admits to misspeaking or then rationalizes "he was being sarcastic" when he clearly wasn't just makes him look like a tool. IMO.

Another thing is regarding his telling Americans to wear a mask but then he doesn't himself. Do as I say not as I do? Bad look for a President. I think a true leader leads by examole and very often his example  sets a precedent.

You said it was an alternative view.  It wasn't.  It's a rehash of the old criticism of Trump's bombastic personality.

Newsflash, he ain't changing.  The people who are likely to vote for him stopped paying literal attention to what he says, knowing fully well that a lot of it is exaggerated.

well it could be seen as an alternative view from the majority Here. Clearly it is.

  14.  I think your uber Trump Bias is showing here and if it were anyone but DT being criticized I bet you'd see things differently and it would make a lot more sense. If a different author had penned it would that have made a difference? Maybe just maybe the "same old criticisms  hold water and your fandom of DT don't allow you to see it? Maybe?

    Dear Mr. President,

Please do things that democrats can use in campaign events to make you look bad.

My aim in writing this is to help you (lose the next election, because at the national level that is all anyone from my side of the aisle (and the Never Trumpers from the other side of the Aisle, too) care about).

(Did he forget to put the stuff in parenthesis in the letter, or did CNN edit it out?)

    Yep, great article. <_<

for goodness sakes that's what you got from reading that? at least you read it I'll give you credit for that. Wow we clearly don't think alike at all. I thimk what you wrote was a crock of bull just to be clear geez

  16. I can see if you read it and disagree that's one thing but to say no to reading an ex military general couldn't possibly have anything worthwhile to say , why? Because he identifies as a democrat?

to me that is extremely whats the word "snowflake" SMH Im surprised frankly. What was written seems pretty common sensical to me

did you even read it?  I thought you of all people would be willing to consider alternative views. To discount it without even bothering to read it contradicts you being open minded don't you think?

my parents would call that "throwing out the baby with the bath water"  thats pretty discouraging/disappointing

  18. this seemed to be the best thread to post this in.  I saw this letter written by Wesley K. Clark, a retired Army general and NATO's former supreme allied commander in Europe, was a candidate for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2004 and is a CNN military analyst. The views expressed in this commentary are his own. I happen to think it makes a ton of sense. Not that DT would listen or take heed to it but IMO he should. Its called President Trump,  Here's how to take control of this crisis.  https://www.cnn.com/2020/05/07/opinions/crisis-leadership-advice-for-president-trump-wesley-clark/index.html

So, I’ve been posting this in numerous threads for a few months. I know there are some people with me on it and some that think it’s crazy. The Pats are a bad team. They will win 6 games (and that’s with the greatest coach ever). Someone please make a case as to why they are a threat in the division? Please don’t use some lame reason like, “because they are king’s until they are not” or “because they are always good.” Give FOOTBALL reasoning as to why they are good!!

My reasoning as to why they are bad is that they have no talent on offense. Their OL is pretty good but lost their legendary coach. They have, at best, a massive question mark at QB. At worst, they have the worst QB situation in the league. The Pats likely have the worst set of skill players in the NFL as well. Some people are saying that they are going to run the ball and play defense. Their backs aren’t good and they will be forced to run against loaded boxes because no one fears their passing game. How does this team generate offense?!? Please, someone, tell me...

The secondary is really good. The pass rush isn’t. They lost Collins and Van Noy this offseason as well as Danny Shelton. That’s 3 starters in their front 7. That defense is no longer elite (although it could still be a top 10ish unit).

Add that to, statistically, the hardest schedule in the NFL and explain to me what I’m missing? Again, no “because they always are” responses. This team has different players and coaches. I’m asking why THIS team is still a threat?  https://www.ourlads.com/nfldepthcharts/depthchart/NE

I’m hoping that this thread inspires some thoughtful conversation. I suspect that the trauma of 20 years of being the nail has people living in fear for no reason. They will hide behind “because Belichick” because that’s the ONLY thing to stand behind. I’m not sure how many games, against that schedule, a great coach is good for? I think that they win 6 because of Belichick. That’s a 4 win team otherwise IMO. I’d love to hear a real football argument those as to why they can win?

Convince you the Pats are good? Pfft I'd rather stick a fork in my eye as IF I'd waste a second of my time giving praise to That team YEAH RIGHT  Signed: bills fan since 1973
