The bills will only need 2-2.5 million to sign their rookies. They currently have picks in the following rounds with the following cap hits below. That totals around 6.7 million however each one of those 6 picks will knock off a bottom level contract from the roster which would wipe out about 4.5 million of the 6.7 above.

    1st round- $2.3 million cap hit (minus 745k min player) = $1.55 M

    2nd round- $1.1 million cap hit (minus 745k min player) = $355k

    3rd round- $950k cap hit (minus 745k min player) = $205k

    4th round- $850k cap hit (minus 745k min player) = $105k

    5th  round- $745k cap hit (minus 745k min player) = $0k

    5th  round- $745k cap hit (minus 745k min player) = $0k

ty that is interesting, as many forget, as did i, that signing a draftee knocks a contract off the back end of roster.

for those same reasons cutting someone at 2 mill salary does not save much as his replacement could be over half that number or more even anyway. Of course, signing a vet gives a vet reduction in sal cap hit that NFL implemented years ago as mid level vets were getting cut for draftees and not for skill but due to cost.

Though not a top tier back, I do think that his ranking is partially due to the offensive scheme.  Only my opinion of course but I believe he is a slightly better back then you give him credit for.

he is not a starter IMHO. But dam good back up at 3 mill a year. lol i hope. He can spot start for injuries and do fine.

The repeated pearl clutching over 1 meaningless second of game time never ceases to amaze me.

Do we really give a ***** about this?

it's not about the time. It is about it is a penalty that needs fair application to all teams. NFL seems to give each team the same leeway but there must be a better way.

when you don't follow the set penalty rules then you open pandoras box for one team to be slighted if they also do not get the same leeway.

Its a good idea, but id say no. There would be so many instances of it going off at the wrong time bc someone didn’t operate the clock correctly/turn it off in time. I think it’s one of those things better left alone personally.

The ref on field could have button he pushs when ball is hiked. Ref button would stop the playclock horn from sounding if he pushed his button first.

but best and easiest is very simple. They have ref in booth watching the plays. He can clearly see the ball is hiked late just like the millions watching on tv. Then can buzz refs to blow whistle even just after play starts if he is a little delayed buzzing down.

I’d agree but McD just doesn’t trust rookies at other positions as we’ve seen. Is he really going to trust 1-2 rookies protecting his QB?  One missed block could end our season. I think McD really will be hesitant to do it. And pretty much no chance they put two rookies on the line. One at most.

current line misses blocks every game.

We all know wide right, 13 seconds and so on. What's this Cinci loss called?

    - No show in the snow?

    - The embarrassment?

    - 60 minutes?

"No show in the snow" is clever and good. I go with that one on a poll.

    how about:

    missuse of motivation game

Bengals rally cry was KC BILLs selling tickets already.

I didn't see this posted anywhere but how is this even possible?

According to Jensen himself he had a torn ACL, MCL, PCL, plus a bone chip and a meniscus injury and he "healed" on his own with no surgery in 5 months?

    https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2023/01/17/ryan-jensen-im-proud-of-myself-for-being-out-there-after-a-severe-knee-injury/#comments

pure bs, completely torn ligaments don't magically crawl back to each other and heal.

more likely they were all stretched or just a small incomplete tear that healed.

Jim Kelly did that a few times. he had Kelly tough ligaments i guess. That bend his knee took in SB would have mangled 99.9% of knees.

Doesn't seem like a McDermott move to declare someone out and then all of a sudden he plays.   I guess you could say that falls under "sportsmanship" but it doesn't seem like the kind McD would engage in.

if player is designated as out. He "cannot" play.

Rules tightened up a few years ago due to Cheatriots listing their entire roster(and practice squad lol) as questionable week in and week out........

Fans knew Hodgins could play though. I don’t recall what the fan sentiment was on Teller when he was here. Was he a guy that just turned a corner once he left?

yes he was avg at best on Bills and light went on in Cleveland.

similar light went on for Kyle Williams who sucked his first two years them boom.

    Ed Oliver too.

hard to predict. it is a guessing game IE: do you have time to wait depending on team situation IE: rebuild years 1, 2, or 3, playoff mode, SB challenger mode. Lots of factors and that's why good GM's are hard to find and they all make mistakes.

Hmm.  I thought they were different types of Turf, guess not.  did they change this year or are the turfs names just different, but are made equally?

every field is unique in its build depending on many factors. Location, weather, sports, other use, traffic, dome. no dome, etc etc.....

Slit film is the use of the strands that have holes(slits) in them. Different manufacturers all make slit film systems and call them by different names. But they are slit film if they have the slits regardless of who makes them or what that manufacture calls them for marketing and branding purposes.

they are part of the 7 fields listed as having the slit turf.

the debate is ongoing. just comparing turf, Slit turf has more injuries than other turf fields but mostly lower leg. The other supposed better turf fields have less injuries overall but more ACL injuries than slit turf.

    Grass has less overall injuries.

The differences are not large but significant when totaling up yearly injuries.

I would guess a big push for heated grass fields in all outdoor venues is coming(like Bills plan to install) (also Packers have heated grass hybrid w artificial strands mixed in) and probably a push for slide out grass fields in domes like Cardinals have.

Met Life w slit turf already announced they are changing to the supposed better artificial turf field. The one w more ACL injuries. 🤷‍♂️

That almost happened to my son in a minor league Blue Jay game. He was pitching and a line drive glazed right by his temple. One of the scariest things I've ever experienced. In sports you just don't know how and when it will happen.

that is the strangest thing in sports since before Hockey mandated masks for goalies and then for all players later.

we have the safety gear to prevent baseball pitchers and infielders to never die from a ball hit to the head. Yet for reasons unexplainable, baseball refuses to require it.

And why would the Bills not be able to run the ball against the Bengals?

because Bills run game is a mirage. Padded by QB freak of nature who can run like no other.

and padded stats vs three of the worst run D's in the league in Lions Browns Bears.

they probably will run for 250 now vs Bengals...lol......if Cook keeps cooking.

But the actual gate attendance for that game he’s talking about was 65576

That was gate attendance not tickets sold

Whether 65,000 people stay the entire game is debatable

yeah it was full at game time and halftime. Not sure Bubba had on wrong game or what the hell.
