Remember how impressed the staff was when he brought his notebook to the team interview? They really hyped that up. 😇

Kept saying it all game, I know he's not on the field, but McD was having himself a hell of a game. Told my wife he gets a game ball today for sure 100%!
Go BIlls!

You have no idea that kirksey was a Bernard replacement...
More like insurance in case something happened to Bernard
Yes, that's why he signed and quickly retired. He was likely under the impression he would be the starter and retired as soon as he realized he wasn't. It's not worth arguing about but it's pretty obvious to most. *shrugs*

I’m not saying you’re wrong about his skills and if Elam was part of the CB platoon I would agree.
I just can’t see him going from inactive to lining up against maybe the best WR in the league.
I still would bet he’s inactive and they call Hamlin up as they only have 3 safeties now, but I could be wrong for sure
As long as we get the Dub (W)! Go Bills!

What makes it even more interesting is that his replacement who few had high hopes for has already matched Edmunds single season sack and interception records, and is on pace to break his tackle record as well.
A guy they were trying to replace (w/Kirksey) even. It's eye opening.

I don’t think Elam is going to go from CB 4 to playing man to man on tyreek hill.
I would be surprised if he’s active this game. Could be wrong though
I feel like all the talk about McDaniels O being revolutionary has not been lost on McDermott. I wouldn't be surprised if he introduces some new wrinkles to the D this week. I also feel like the answer to Miami is mixing in some man or man/zone coverage against them. That's the consensus to stopping the Cheetah isn't it, disrupting him off the line? I feel like thats Elams biggest strength, getting hands on and disrupting people off the line. This is when we need him, a roster spot is open, I think he plays.

Its time for Elam to get handsy with the cheetah. I bet he sees some action this week.

I find the whole Edmunds saga pretty gripping tbh.
I wanted him to be "The" guy, I was rooting for him, I was sipping the Kool aid & buying all the excuses and just could not wrap my head around why he was soo... average. Now, after watching him QB the leagues worst or 2nd worst D in the league he looks awful, not average, not below average, he just looks lost. While I'm still not ready to write him off entirely as a bust, I need to see more. The more I watch him though, the more I'm starting to think he may have cost us a shot or 2 @ the SB.
Inquiring minds want to know. Keep this thread going imho.

Has anyone seen any reports about what his supposed "injury" was yesterday? Because my suspicion is he was benched after casually watching the Kelce TD.
I saw it mentioned earlier in the thread, but that play was brutal. The misreads by him were pretty awful and he just seems to lack the necessary awareness to be THAT guy.

Defense has looked great! Oliver and Rousseau are turning into the studs we'd hope they'd be, the Floyd signing is looking like a steal and Bernard has been balling out like crazy, he probably has as many "impact" plays as Maine did in 5 years here. IDK if it's all McD's doing, but there's no question the D looks better this year than last. Since he's going to own the blame if he fails, I feel like he's due the credit for the improved look this year. Go Bills!
-
Keep the ball out of their hands. Steady dose of Cook and Murray, Allen check downs and dominate time of posession. Count on Bernard or Milano to make an impact play when needed

Regardless if you were a Tremaine fan or not, It's pretty shocking how poorly he's played in Chicago. I can't help but wonder how things may have been with someone else over the last couple of years.

The day is just starting and my stomach is already wrecked I'm soo anxious. Go Bills!

This is our year. I think we've shored up the defense sufficiently, I like McD taking over and the O with Josh will be as potent as ever. Putting the line aside I think Josh will be able find his guys and the improved backfield should be able to help us close out the close ones. The talking heads are looking past us, but Vegas isn't and neither am I.(Chiefs +700, Eagles +800, Bills +900, 49ers +1000, Bengals +1000) Go Bills!

Don't be sorry, dude, not one bit. Plenty of wonderful people are dead wrong sometimes.
Rypien absolutely was one of the best in the league for a brief moment in time. The problem was that it was a very brief moment. His falloff was precipitous.
I could do without the sarcasm, but one good season does not make you one of the best, period. He had better than a 90% QB rating once. He had one good season, your position is absurd. Writing a novella about it doesn't change that fact. I've never heard this argument once in 40 plus years of following football. A quick glance of QB's during this era should bring you back to reality.
Let's see who was active during his playing time:
Montana, Young, Elway, Moon, Favre, Aikman, Marino, Kelly, Simms, Cunningham, George, Boomer, Warner...
Honestly, I can't bear to go on, but you have Rypien as one of your best!

Rypien was a decent game manager lifted by a spectacular team and Rypien was one of the two or three best QBs in the league
Which was he, a decent game manager or one of the best QB's in the league? He was a Dilfer/Wilson... game managers propped up by people around him. Sorry but Rypien was never one of the best QB's in the league. 😄
-
Throw him on the pile of Mark Rypiens and Trent Dilfers. They got one yes, but they were not the reason. For some reason people kept voting him into the Pro-bowl though, I never quite got it.

OMG, I loved Mike Tyson "I'm just here because you two have the most punchable faces in television"
-
Never been a Wilson fan, always thought he was the biggest fraud in the NFL. He's long been propped up by solid coaching defenses and run game.
I've enjoyed the watching him wreck his train. I expect more of the same until Payton pulls the plug.

Seems like a high character guy that's been producing, I like him already! Hope he's healthy and ready to go. Go Bills!

Can I pipe dream an Elam for Taylor scenario here? I mean the cap is just a pretend number that can be circumvented any number of ways right?
I'm not entirely unhappy with our backfield, but starting Taylor over Cook sounds pretty damn good to me! Id move some chips in for that, make it happen Beane!

Never understood why folks would hate on a guy for his honesty. This is what we as NFL fans want, forget the vanilla responses, give us the dirt!
His statements about the coaching last year can still be 100% valid even if disappoint this year imho. We can evaluate what went wrong with his season afterwards, I don't think it will make his statements about the Bronco's last year any less valid. They were a coaching disaster and I was totally blown away that anyone would hire Hackett as a HC. That said... it would be difficult for Payton to not improve last years Broncos.

McD and Daboll hate each other probably 🤣

Coaching NFL football is obviously insanely intense and demanding, I have no doubts they've butted heads during their time together. I'm also pretty certain McD has fantasized about a single leg take down and some ground and pound work :P. I'm guessing he'd have to use the single over the double due to Dabolls... proportions. O
