I am gonna double down on my own take with another hot take.

If Lamar can’t lead a game winning drive or at least get a TD here, I think this performance could lose him the MVP and give it to Josh.

(I know this isn’t supposed to be a playoff award. But let’s call a spade a spade. 7 points against KC after Josh played lights out against their vaunted D)

MVP votes are done before the playoffs.  It wont lose him anything.

I hope people realize Mahomes misses a pass like that in every single game... So does every single QB... No such thing as a perfect game. He also misread a play earlier that would have been a TD and instead the drive ended on a 4th and 1 stuff by the Ravens. The Chiefs are winning this game because outside of Mahomes they've had like 4 or 5 other players step up and make exceptional plays.

I feel like I have to say this every week lol.

I hate this. I don't necessarily hate that Brady got the job. But I hate that the team didn't even attempt to complete a full and exhaustive search. We're just running it back. McDermott loves playing it safe. It's what holds him back as a coach more than anything.

I feel the same way but I also feel at the end of the day that Brady will do just fine.  Our problem is not enough playmaking outside receiver talent.  Beane gets him that and Brady will be a HC somewhere.

The problem with Diggs is the complete lack of effort on most plays that aren't a pass with him as the #1 option.

On run plays, he barely moves, rarely attempts to block anyone, and basically just stands there way too often. On pass plays with others as the primary, he often runs his route at 60% unless he sees Josh scramble, in which case he speeds up & tries to get open. When he's doubled, he often just gives up & dogs it. This stuff wouldn't fly in youth football, and they'd be called out the first time it happened. I can't believe he's still getting away with it.

This wasn't an issue his first few years here, but now is a major one. If your #1 WR isn't doing the little things, it brings the whole offense down.

This.  You don't even need all 22 to see this.  I've seen it on the regular broadcast often.  I am not saying Diggs is done but he isn't the same Diggs.  Someone else elite on the outside may help with that.  Maybe scheme might help with it, but Diggs is on the downward slope of his career.

The Ravens don't have one either. They are probably going to the SB with no WR having over 1,000 yards. Zay Flowers led the team with 858, but no one else even had 600 yards. Also, Lamar is their leading rusher.

Different offensive philosophies because different QB.  Flowers would have killed it with Allen or Mahomes.

As you know I agree totally that the Bills need an outside receiver who can get vertical and gives them a more explosive element. That said their YAC numbers were much better this year. I think @Shaw66 said they were 6th in the league. That has been a problem other seasons, but actually by design when you are so small ball the YAC comes.

Absolutely they were better.  This was mostly Shakir and Cook.  Very rare was a big chunk play from YAC though, which is more of what I was referring to.

  7. We don't see explosive offense anymore because we don't have prime Brown and prime Beasley anymore.  We have an unreliable Davis that is a one trick pony, Sherfield, and Harty.  Yes, we have Shakir as well and I think he is the most explosive player on the team but he still isn't prime Beasley.  At least not yet.  There is no one on the team to stretch the field, get quick separation, has reliable hands, makes contested catches, makes catches that aren't perfect balls, etc.  If you want to see explosive offense then you need more talent.  Davis, Harty, and Sherfield are not it.

I dunno if Brady is the guy or not.  I like some of what he did.  I think some of what he didn't do was being hampered by lack of talent.  This team desperately needs another outside receiver.  I think if we get that we get more explosive offense instead of dink and dunk all the time.  You can not consistently score by just taking what the defense gives you every single play. Especially when those little short passes don't get that YAC.

When Brady was the master of dink and dunk it worked because those guys could take a 3 yard pass and rip off 10-20 more yards.  That makes up for big throws downfield.  They still had big throws downfield too. You have to have guys that can break what the defense gives you and makes a play too.  Throwing 2-5 yards all game is only going to beat bad teams.  Sure, you need to be able to do it but that can't be for entire games.  Too much room for error to expect to score 7 points on 10-15 play 6-8 minute drives every drive.  No top offense in the league relies on just getting 2-5 yards per play.
