It's a message board.  Why not share your opinions on what you think his worth is?

No rush at all.  I'd have to see what the franchise tag number is but I'm guessing it's around $15m so that would be a no for me.  The landscape can change a lot in a year too.  Maybe there's another RB on the FA market that's an every down back that's worth what Cook is asking next year?  Maybe it's a loaded RB draft class and we desperately need money at signing a big name WR or other premium position.  You just give yourselves so many more options by letting him play out this year.

True, it's just a message board. My opinion would be in the neighborhood of $10m. Maybe $12 with incentives. I'd also want to see him have another season like last year for that. I'd want to make sure that he wasn't just a one season wonder. I like him and I'd like him to stay but not at any cost. I don't think he is a Henry type of back. I also don't value the RB position as much, even if it is making a comeback. I also don't think he is some generational game changing back that should be getting top dollar.

  2. I don't care what Cook does to try and get his best deal. Thats his business.

I don't care what the Bills do to try and sign him to the deal that feels right to them. Thats their business.

Like most everyone, I do have opinions on his worth but really that's not my place.

All I care about is Cook is ready to play come gametime.

Been saying it since the draft - The best QB on that roster is Sanders. And yet he is not gonna get a shot at the job.

    Only in Cleveland.

I don't follow this stuff much. I know there was some drama about him sliding in the draft and thats about all. Why wouldn't he get a shot?

We will see. If Flacco starts this year it will be a walking disaster. I guarantee you.

I agree. Flacco is a walking corpse at this point. He might make a couple plays but it's not going to be good football.

Watching the Pats fans crumble from this on social media has been hilarious. They believed that they were getting 2021 Diggs. They thought they were getting this alpha WR, with a giant chip on his shoulder and in his prime. Instead, they are getting a 30-something Diggs, off a torn ACL, dating a massive celebrity, coming off a Diddy-esque controversy, playing in a place he didn’t want to go, with a young team that gave him the biggest number. This was ALWAYS going to be a disaster. Pats fans all over social media want to cut him. 🤣🤣 They really are the least knowledgeable fanbase in the league. The guy that you signed is not the same guy that the Bills traded for.

It's like when Miami fans thought they were getting prime Poyer.

Massive mistake IMO. I give it 2-3 years before they're looking for a way out.

Purdy is the definition of QB purgatory. Just good enough to be fearful of letting him go, but not good enough to win it all. He was the QB of a team of superstars in their prime with elite offensive coaching and his play in the Super Bowl directly cost that team their chance at glory. And with his new salary they'll never be able to build that caliber of team around him again.

I think Kyle Shanahan could someday go the Andy Reid route of getting fired after 10+ years of disappointing playoff exits, going to a new team where he finds his elite QB, then start racking up championships.

Agree. He is decent but isn't elite. They aren't going to be able to keep an elite team up around him and that team is going to head towards average.

  6. No thanks. Don't need to see 2 route Davis have more miscommunications and 50% drop rates. That and his typical yearly injury that is used as an excuse for why he is bad all season.

  7. I think Cook is a star on this team based on last years play. I'd like to see that carry into this season as well. 15 mil is a lot for a RB especially when he has only really had one great year. I don't think many RBs deserve or should be paid that kind of money. However, if they are going to continue to cheap out on WR then they might as well pay a RB.

Should had never lost to the Texans or the Rams.

We had the tie breaker over KC when we beat them.

We find a way to beat Houston and LA and we're going into the final game of the season playing the starters against the Pats and a W means the #1 seed.

Texans game I'd agree but we scored 42 points in the Rams game. There is no chance I am going to blame an offense that scored 42 points. Expecting a perfect season is imo ridiculous. How many times in history has that happened?

A lot of truth here. I'll add that having a mid-season funk nearly every year while dropping games against inferior teams, causing the Bills to miss out on the 1 seed is something an elite QB like Josh Allen shouldn't be doing either.

And losing out on the bye and having to play Wild Card weekend every year is another reason they haven't reached a Super Bowl... Regularly capturing the #1 seed needs to be the main focus of the regular season, which means learning to win the stupid mid-season games against teams like Jacksonville, no matter what and no excuses.

I agree with what you are saying but the Chiefs lost one game last season, so last year it wasn't gonna happen. Other years yeah.

On the topic of WR... I believe we will still have a top offense but I'd feel much better about it if we had a proven field stretcher on the outside. I have no idea how our new guys are going to work out as I really know nothing about them, but they seem to be just jags like we had last year. We have some good guys and the everybody eats thing, but without having at least a solid field stretcher I think it makes us easier to defend and relies too much on perfect Josh.

I don't know what's been going on with me since the draft but I get this weird, like small butterfly feelings in my stomach thinking about the upcoming season.

This has never happened to me before.  Usually I lose interest in football after the Bills are out, gain it back right before draft and free agency....then think about other things until late July.

But it's early May and I have the same exciting feeling the Saturday eve before the opener...which means it will take forever in my head for the season to get here.

I think they do it this year....I really do.

Any of you feeling weird like me right now?

    And no, I'm not drunk.

    Am I high?  Maybe.

I think every year could/can be the year. Thats because we are a top team and it literally can be the year any year. Provided Josh stays healthy of course.

  11. Baltimore IMO. They have a great defense and their offense with Lamars incredible ability to run and Henry added to it is tough to defend. They are also the most physical. If not for turnovers last year, we most likely lose that game.

Cinci is the team I almost selected. We don't play them much and they have a high powered offense.

I dont think its KC. Those games always come down to the wire. One of these days we will get over the hump in the post season with them.

A lot of people out there saying we aren't help Josh Allen.  And, while I can agree with that, I think the Bills are looking at it a bit differently.  It looks to me they are jut telling Josh, go out and do what you have done the last few years and we will do everything in our power to make sure the defense doesn't let you down in big spots again.  And finding a way to make that 1 last stop is how they think they are helping Allen.

Now, to me, I think Allen is the best QB in the league and instead of playing to your strength, you are holding him back.  Sure, we score 30 a game.  Great.  You know what's better?  Scoring 35-40.  Surround the dude with fast, explosive talent and just run teams out of the building.  But that's just now how they want to go about it.  The good news is, that we can score 30 with this offense and that we are only a couple of trades away for legit WRs from getting to that next level.  I am just not sure Beane is going to try and make those deals at this point.

You know how to score 35-40 a game when the team was already capable of scoring 30 a game? By not letting the other team march down the field. Stop them quickly and put the ball back in Allen's hands.

Dareus was a freak of nature. He could have had a bust in Canton if he had the work ethic to pair with his natural talent. This Graham guy doesn't seem like that at all.

Agree. Dareus coulda been great if he had that ambition.
