Claypool Curse confirmed.

Jones at one point was far better than Spector ever will be. That may not be the case now but I don't see how Spector is a lock for the 53.
I doubt Smoot makes the 53. Camp body so Miller can rest.
Honestly, Smoot may be one of the better run defending DEs after Groot and AJ.

Don't mind any of these guys actually as guys to compete for the backend jobs in those rooms. Smoot is the one I give the best chance of making the roster. But I see the sense in all 3 moves.
Smooth has Shaq Lawson replacement vibes.

Claypool is only 25 and Uber talented.
Also the Claypool curse is a thing.

Hopefully that’s the case. I’m flummoxed at all of these LBs
They are all exceptional cover LBers, that isn’t by mistake!

We normally carry 6 LB on the roster and bring 9 or so into camp
That's NORMALLY.
Check it outhttps://billswire.usatoday.com/lists/2023-buffalo-bills-53-man-roster-roster-cuts-brandon-beane-nfl/
People aren't always aware because Dodson and Matekevich primarly played teams and had been hanging out as depth 4-Ev-Ah
There was also an uptick in 3 LB deployment last year, I suspect this trend continues.

Bills now have 9 or 10 LBers under contract for the summer, up from 8 last year.
2 is a pretty significant increase…

Used to be a solid cover LB.
Still is exceptional in coverage
5 minutes ago, Process said:Find you someone that loves you as much as Beane loves backup LBs
To be fair, every LB is a backup when you have Milano and the Nard-dog.

For only using 2 LB, we have a TON.
- 29 years old
- 8 starts last 2 seasons, 3 last year
- Still managed 6 PBUs, a sack, and 4 TFL
- QBs only completed 54% (13/24) against him.
- Allowed a QB rating of sub 45
- Incredibly productive earlier in his career.
- 5 missed tackles last year (12%)

Why would we get rid of Spencer Brown?

I know I am FAR more curious and optimistic about this 5th round pick than I should be.
But I just can’t help myself! Twitchy and bendy has not really been our thing lately.
Beane does cook in the 5th round!

23 games, 42 recs, 620 yards, 3 tds. The definition of a JAG.
Bad hamstrings and a heart condition.
I think it’s still a long shot for him to have any kind of meaningful role, but he’s talented. Like an above poster mentioned, if he can gun or return kicks he could make it. Otherwise he’s a safe bet for the practice squad.

Actions speak loud.
Teams also stopped playing single high against us.
Cook should help that return, but taking away Josh’s deep game has been defensive’s priority.

Stevie Johnson and Coleman have randomly shouted him out.
Beane and McD have brought him up as well.
Every summer we have a darling who spends the year in Buffalo working out, so we will see come TC and more importantly preseason. Could he be the new Isaiah McKenzie?

Any ideas when Rookie Minicamp will be?
-
Whatever we think the Bills will get, raise it a round.
I think we learned that the hard way.
-
I think everyone is totally misinterpreting the term transition.
The team is evolving, which is what good teams do. Their offense will look different and their defense will look different.
This team can evolve and still be a juggernaut, and that’s what I expect.

I’ll add this here: Joe Marino had a guest on his show who talked about the Coleman pick. He openly admitted he immediately texted Joe “I don’t like this pick for you,” but then studied up Joe Brady’s offense more the following day.
That guest, who I don’t believe was a Bills fan, changed his mind after what he saw from what Brady’s style is and said Coleman is a perfect fit.

Ahhh, the off-season. That special point in the year when talk about Bills football is secondary, and taking digs at fellow members of the boards becomes the primary purpose. I feel so very fortunate that we have such a time every year…..
TBD in the summer time is basically a giant LARP battle

Currently we have one full time outside WR on the roster. They have to add somebody IMO. A post-6/1 signing is the only thing that makes sense.
Meh, I get depth purposes but I really don’t think Kincaid is coming off the field much. I wouldn’t be surprised, at all, to see 86 as one of the slot receivers in 4-WR sets.
Even 5-wide I can see Cook or Knox being the fifth option.

I was hoping to have a young talented 4/5 WR on the roster. A 3rd-4th rounder. I guess that’s Shorter, Hamler or Cephus.
Shorter was a 5th, Cephus a 5th, Hamler a 2nd, Isabella a 2nd.

Bad players get traded all the time
Beane traded for Benjamin
Kelvin Sheppard was traded for Hughes
Russel Bodine.
I don’t think Pats have traded with us since lol
Just now, SCBills said:I'm good with Coleman, Shakir, Samuel and Kincaid being our main receiving group with Knox, Cook and Davis/Johnson mixed in.. but I'd like a WR4 to rotate in on 4 wide sets and as WR depth.
-Two seasons ago we entered the playoffs with street free agents taking meaningful snaps at WR
-Last year we lost Davis at the end of the season and had Sherfield as a starting WR in the playoffs
The guy to watch at WR4 is Hamlin, but in all reality if we go out with 4-wide and no inline TE, it will likely be Kincaid in one of the slot positions.
Even in 5-receiver sets, it’s probably Cook or Knox as the 5th target.

4 minutes ago, Buffalo_Stampede said:
Maybe Shakir is our top WR target next year but I’m pretty confident it’s going to be Samuel.
Definitely possible! Samuel will have more opportunities in the backfield as well.
Are we all in agreement Kincaid is the top target next year?
