  1. ....I don't get to see college ball, but many here are touting this Reddick kid.......don't like spending a 1st on receiving corp when I've yet to be convinced that TT can or will be able to make use of what he has..just a pet peeve.......

IMO Reddick would be the smartest choice the Bills could make...he has played S, LB, and DE which means he can cover effortlessly, contain the run and rush the passer (which is everything the Bills are looking for in a LB)...he was a walk on, which means he is hungry and doesn't act like he is entitled...no off field issues...runs like a locomotive and hits like a freight train.

  2. @chrisbrownbills

Just an interesting note. #Bills get pick No. 163 overall from Pats for Gillislee. Gillislee pick No. 164 by Miami in 2013 draft.

gotta love the effort to try and make fans feel better...either way i still think we came away on the low end of the deal...but what do i know? I mean Bills spend money like drunkin sailors and then can't seem to scrounge up $900,000 for a 2nd round protection for a guy who averaged 3 points a game for us last year? Even if we still lost him i wouldn't have cared because of the 2nd rounder, but a bottom 5th from the Pats makes it feel like they took a dump on our faces.

  3. If Browns want the 10th pick I would take Josh Gordon and Osweiller (2 million)and the 12th pick.

If i were the Bills I would require more in return...i don't ever foresee Gordon or Osweiler ever playing again...so basically we are losing value in our 1st round pick for nothing.

  4. So you're saying he could throw for 5,000 yards like stafford can? Have you seen this guy play? There is zero chance this guy is ever a winning qb in the nfl.

Agreed...Osweiler is the white version of EJ Manuel.

  5. the bills can just do no right here when it comes to the fans

    - First.....shouldnt have traded 2 first round picks for him in a draft that produced other very good wr's......as if they knew that was even going to happen.

    - Then.....they should not fart around with the extension.....unless of course they just give it to him and then he ends up coming up lame due to off the field actions....then of course they SHOULD NOT have given him the extension

    I mean....come on folks....which is it?

i may be in the minority on this, but i actually don't feel we should give him the 5th year option...i feel the bills should let 2017 play out, and if sammy plays well, extend him or franchise him...i feel giving him the 5th year now just puts the team in a hole if he doesn't pan out.

  6. Smart move by Pats. Just another example of what superior management looks like. This deal will probably be too much to match. Bills should have tendered him to a higher pick in the first place in my opinion.

Funny how most Bills fans and media thought this, however the people running the organization didn't...actually kinda scary.

  7.

And some say Bills are considering spending ANOTHER 1st round pick on WR, after spending 2 on Sammy, with no QB! This team has no clue.

I will honest with ya, i am extra nervous for this draft...there is no telling which direction the Bills are planning to go....and for some reason there just seems to be more 'fools gold' this year than normal...we could be getting closer to building something or we could be setting the franchise back again- and with the new staff, there are just so many extra variables.

  8.

...Grandma always said, "no guts no glory, no bawls no blue chips sonny".....she was ALWAYS right.....Whaley moved up to grab Sammy and the grade to date is INCOMPLETE because of unfortunate injuries....look at the bold move Dimitrif made to get Julio, a boatload....and the pundits then were WTF?....it paid off......you just never know.....sure as hell cannot question Sammy's head or heart.....

After watching Sammy play on his broken foot last year, i will never question his heart...however, to me, the Falcons getting Julio made more sense than the Bills getting Sammy...they had the franchise QB and Julio was the final piece...

  9. I am no scout, but have watched NFL football for 48 years and have followed the draft very closely since the early 80s. I've watched 3 games each on Draftbreakdown.com for Trubisky, Watson and Mahomes. My impressions:

Watson - really athletic with great running and escapability. Has enough arm strength, but not a very accurate passer in my view. High completion percentage is mainly due to throwing a lot of behind the line/screens and Mike Williams making a number of great catches. To me, Mike Williams is a much better NFL prospect than Watson and I could not justify selecting Watson over Williams. I think Watson's inaccuracy will be a killer in the NFL.

Mahomes - Clear that he has a tremendous arm. Makes a lot of short passes and a ton of ill-advised throws that he got away with in college, but would turn into a lot of INTs in the NFL unless he learns much better judgement. I will say that he does seem to see a lot of the field, even when scrambling around. I can understand whey some are very enamored with him, but to me he is a major boom or bust prospect. If he can get his game under control and not take nearly as many chances, he could turn out to be great, but man there is a lot of wildness to clean up.

Trubisky - Makes more NFL type throws than the other two, looks smooth and athletic on the move. Seems to see the field well. Had some oddly bad throws mixed in that were kind of inexplicable compared to his typical accuracy. Really bothers me that he couldn't win the job at UNC until his predecessor graduated and there have been a lot of QBs that look good one year in college and then wilted the next (see Deshone Kizer for one).

I'll be interested to look at some of Kizer's games as well, but of these 3, I don't see Watson as a good NFL prospect, Trubisky is interesting, but scary due to limited sample size and Mahomes is a gamble on greatness.

Again, just my opinion. Others may see things differently.

This all sounds about right...and exactly why i hope we don't take a QB before the 2nd round.

He often avoided even more INT's because he was unsure of himself. My point was I would rather have a guy that is confident in the pocket and rein him in vs a guy not sure of himself and then try to get him to throw the ball on time.

I can definitely agree with this...

  10. ...the rookie salary cap took away a huge component in trading down philosophy.....the last boyz to cash under the old system were Bradford at $50 mil guaranteed preceded by Stafford at $41 mil guaranteed.....

this actually makes me happy to hear this, after all the rumors about the Bills possibly willing to trade up instead...if the Bills actually manage to trade down after all, it would give me a little hope that perhaps Whaley can learn from his past mistakes.

  11. It's funny to me that a team hovering around .500 for the last 3 years, that currently lacks playmakers in a league where a few plays can be the difference between 8-8 and 10-6 can trivialize the value of a guy who produced over 600 offensive yds and 9 TDs last season while seeing limited playing time.

I feel like I took a nap and woke up in Fuktardistan.

    excellent point

  12.

Dude. Whaley is the King of Reaches?

His draft choices are way better than the Bills have historically been. You must be like 12, because no one could write that if they were around to witness Modrak, Levy and Russ "Aaron Maybin" Brandon.

I mean seriously, some of you guys out there SMH...

While I agree with your assessment of the previous GMs and their horrible picks, Whaley is the only GM i could see wasting draft picks to trade up in this mediocre QB draft class...As i said before, I made the statement about "King of reaches" based on his reckless nature with draft picks...and while he can make decent picks at times, it never seems like he gets value...Other than the EJ pick, i don't ever remember trading back- and even then EJ was grossly overvalued, imo

  13. so, your very negative view of Whaley is based upon one trade up?

doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

I think Doug Whaley does some things well...and others not so much...One of the things i don't think he does well is value draft picks...he is too reckless when it comes to the draft and I don't think he plays it as well as he could imo.

Hey I got an idea make baseless attacks on personnel because of your feelings... (sigh) How do i reach these asshats? :wallbash:

    LOL you're fun...

I gave my opinions and the reasons for them...if you still feel they are baseless, then that is your problem, not mine.
