I thought I heard on the TV yesterday that it was the first home undefeated season since 1990?
This is correct. Last two were 1990 and 1988. Bills made the AFCCG both times, fwiw

From a Bills POV it's a glorified preseason game. The only thing I want is for the Bills to get out of this game with no injuries. Win or lose doesn't really matter.
That’s about it. 13 wins in the bank plus the 2 seed. Aside from Josh keeping his consecutive starts streak alive, this amounts to a bye week.

I preface this to say I don’t want this scenario, but….
Wouldnt it be wild if we beat Burrow, then Lamar, then Mahomes?
It would be wild, and somewhat unlikely so that’s why I’d like to see the Bengals miss the postseason.

Not disputing the rest but this really is not true and keeps being repeated. Their first touchdown came after Josh threw a bad pick that gave them the ball at the Bills 18. Their second touchdown came on defense when Josh fumbled and they scooped and scored and two of their FGs came when the Bills stopped them quickly after another Josh interception at midfield and a long punt return set them up already in FG range.
The Dolphins scored 31. Of those 31, 20 were gifted to them by the offense and special teams.
Miami's drives that day:
2 yards
2 yards
10 yards
38 yards
18 yards
8 yards
18 yards
0 yards
1 yard
4 yards
-9 yards
13 yards
75 yards
5 yards
30 yards
If the Bills had lost that game it would have been on offensive turnovers and special teams blunders, not because the Bills had any trouble with Skylar Thompson.
Great job compiling this. So many references on this board to this game, which has become something of an urban legend.

Yep. A very “ Chiefs like” schedule.

Why do we have to have this conversation every year. 2017, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023.....it's pointless now. Sean has become an urban legend to a large contingent of Bills fans. He can do no wrong. Winning a SB or even getting to one is far less important than the beauty of him digging us out of 17 years of despair.
Bills fans will not decide the fate of McDermott. That decision lies with Terry Pegula. Yes, the conversation is somewhat pointless for that reason.

But would Pegula insist on him bringing a DC with a better scheme....Would Schwartz come here as DC ?
I don't know if yesterday's defensive performance was because we played well or if the Jets offense sucked ?
I can’t see McDermott with a DC that has a completely different philosophy. Oil and water. The defense we saw yesterday is exactly what the Bills D is ; an erratic defense that gets takeaways. They’re not shutting anyone down in the playoffs outside the WC round. It will be Josh Allen putting on the cape and taking the Bills as far as he can take them. Will it be the AFCCG ? Super Bowl? We’ll have to wait and see.

The Bills need to make the AFC title game at minimum this postseason. If not, a major change needs to happen. Hopefully T Pegs / Beane understand this. They’re the only ones with opinions that matter. Ideally the Bills get the job done and it’s not necessary.

Over Under on me keeping Collinsworth volume on as far as the 2nd half?
The ball washing on Penix and and the Falcons is already unreal.
When the Commanders benched Cousins and inserted Penix, it was just the tip of the iceberg for Collinsworth.

The thing people are forgetting is that if they let the Bengals slip in by beating Denver and the Bengals upset the Bills, the Bengals then go to Arrowhead the next week. I'm sure the Chiefs don't want Burrow in Arrowhead either when they can get Pittsburgh or Houston etc.
I agree. Only QB not named Brady that has defeated them in postseason in PM era. Why let that QB in the tournament?

Don't how to order it but game 1 vs Broncos ,Game 2 vs Texans. Thats the easiest path for us. Tomlin always plays well in the playoffs so them vs the chiefs or Chargers is the best bet.
That would be Bills over Broncos , Chargers over Chiefs , Texans over Steelers.

Disgusting.Idiots. What about the way Josh Allen plays football would possibly make one think he’s satisfied with a playoff loss ?
1 minute ago, Punch said:The odds are shifting based in part on opinions publicly offered by the media talking heads, some of whom are MVP voters. I think Allen should win and very well may, but the odds aren't a true predictor and the probability you're extrapolating isn't realistic or mathematically sound. Even if Allen has the better odds at season's end, the voters can still vote for Lamar, that isn't meant to be provocative, it's common sense.
Vegas betting odds are designed to draw the most betting dollars, not accurately predict an outcome. I hope Allen wins, but its most certainly 50-50 right now in the minds of voters and all the headlines are hyperbolically calling Lamar's season an "historic run to MVP".
I highly doubt it’s 50/50 right now in the minds of the 50 voters. “ most certainly” seems hyperbolic.

Past trauma particularly with McDermott's defense has set in massive PTSD in the buffalo sports consciousness.
13 seconds is like a Greek tragedy in everyone's mind
One could argue our existence as Bills fans is basically a greek tragedy
We're the red Sox or cubs for decades before they finally won a title.
I am personally always asking, " how are they going to screw this up this time?"
During the 13 seconds after Allen took the lead. I literally went outside and couldn't watch the game. I knew they were going to screw it up....
That must be a tough way to watch sports. After the last Allen touchdown Gabe Davis touchdown I was looking up AFCCG tickets on my phone.

See that's the thing. If Allen has a bad game, he is criticized because they lost. Not because of anyone else's play but his own.
Jackson goes 23/36, 237 yards and 2 TDs and they blame the running game because Henry got stuffed all game vs Philly. And when Henry doesn't produce, they have been bad (2-5 when he doesn't get at least 90 yards rushing).
I want him to win it, I do. But the playoffs are more important that regular season awards. Lamar would be the one to tell you that better than anyone.
Sure, the playoffs are more important. But the MVP will be decided ( not announced) before the playoffs even start.

Chiefs beat ravens , bengals , broncos , Steelers , Texans this season and look pretty solid late as of late . Not sure why they wouldn’t have an easy path to the championship .Chiefs divisional round opponent won’t be a serious challenge.

2 targets against New England. Seems odd.
Not really. The Bills were trying to win the game with a minimal game plan and putting nothing on tape. Possibly even trying to put specific things on tape that won’t actually be used. They didn’t need a great game plan a la Detroit game to get a win vs New England.

I could care less about Josh winning MVP. He needs to beat Mahomes in January. That’s all that mattters.
We know what Allen can do in January. What matters is what the Bills defense can do. They play against Mahomes, not Allen. Some Bills fans do care about Josh Allen winning MVP, and that’s what this thread is about.

The MVP won't be decided based on whether or not voters ran out of time while Allen still had the better odds. The trend toward Lamar is distinct, it's closer to a coin flip than 2-1.
Betting odds don’t have much to do with the MVP voters. More about talking heads and hot takes.

I get your point and agree the #1 seed does have an advantage
But the sentiment of the Bills having to run a gauntlet and what not, I mean should the Bills just opt out of the playoffs.
I get the sentiment, I really do, and I'm sure the Bills will find find some excruciating way to lose in the playoffs, or dare I say Super Bowl, but at least they have a chance?
Of course not, and they certainly have a chance. The bye and seeding makes the road much tougher for all but 1 team. It used to be 2 teams got to win a single home playoff game to advance to the title game. Not impossible now but a lot more difficult.

Or go back to 6 teams with no byes. It's just too big of an advantage IMO.
It’s too big an advantage , but the NFL only sees dollar signs. They don’t care, and won’t change it back until the NFLPA agrees to 8 playoff teams and an 18 game schedule.
