Daboll is an excellent play caller
Figster replied to Buffalo Barbarian's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Opposition game plans known tendencies so it makes sense to take under consideration when game planning or play calling IMO. Even when a tendency continues to have good results. I think part of Buffalo's problem is still not executing some plays at a high enough level to get a good indicator. Young QB early in development along with many new faces still acclimating to the system all go into play. It takes time to gel, to know a players tendencies. Allen, Brown and Beasley are building good chemistry every week. The team is a work in progress , especially on O. Although still in all likelihood a few players away from challenging for a Championship. The future looks very bright for the Buffalo Bills in my humble opinion. -

We see smart QB's/ runners slide before contact and should concentrate more on teaching Allen to avoid contact when he chooses to run IMO. I also think hitting a QB thats down should be more severe of penality to a defender like automatic ejection and 2 game suspension, Send a message... -

Good point on the wear and tear and the hits will start adding up, Cams a good example. Of course after Newton ripped a new A hole into the league breaking many records running the football from the QB position. -

Absolutely on holding onto the football. I do however think Allens running ability when called upon can win football games. Something perhaps better conserved/ more used in the playoffs. Lamar Jackson is somewhat unique. So is Allen IMO... -

I would compare Allens running style more in line with Cam Newton. My point is Allens running ability has to be respected enough to help open up the rest of the O. Similar skill set is probably poor choice of words Here comes the snow... -

Do you know what makes Lamar Jackson and the O he operates so dangerous and so hard to stop? Josh Allen has the same skill set with a bigger cannon mounted on his shoulder. Allen just needs to practice carrying and protecting the football like a RB. Working out with Gore as Hapless suggested perhaps... ...oh, and practice slidding... Note this: The New Era power forward / QB is on full display in New Era field and throughout the NFL. Even B B HC of the Patriots is going to be losing sleep at night thinking I want one of these. Can you stop me now... -

Simple poll. Is Josh Allen improving as a passer?

Honest answer, no Coaching/ good game planning matters... ...Buffalo also has an easier schedule IMO... -
Simple poll. Is Josh Allen improving as a passer?

Yet Buffalo sits at 6 - 2 and the supposed top gun in a real good draft class Baker Mayfield and the Browns are 2 - 6. Mayfield playing with arguably a much better supporting cast. Superbowl contenders, remember? I like the pace and I like the development , especially considering all the new faces on O. A work in progress... -
Simple poll. Is Josh Allen improving as a passer?

Passing yardage is always at the top of the list. Throw for 300 or you suck. Here's the thing though, there will come a time say against the Chiefs for instance that the 300 yard game may become necessary. Mahomes and company comes at you fast a furious. Fall to far behind and game over. Is Allen improving? Yes, most fans agree. With that being said Josh Allen still has a long way to go to take down the A Rodgers or Mahomes of the NFL IMO. -

I wouldn't confuse decreased pass attempts because of the proper game planning dictated by weather conditions and the opposition with a decline in Josh Allens development. The Buffalo Bills are built to weather the storm. -

Over 94% Now ask yourself, do you think Daboll might deserve a little credit? -

Amazing how the National Press Ignores the Bills
Figster replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't think some people realize how hard a team can play when desperate for a win. The Browns despite the 2 - 6 record will approach and play the Bills like its a playoff game. Just like Philly and every team Buffalo has faced. 6 - 2 is what the record indicates. -

I disagree, despite the 2 - 6 record I believe a win this Sunday against a much better Browns team then the record indicates will make all the talking heads stand up and take notice. Another loss buries the Browns and a reborn Bills team will emerge. Execution Brownie points... -

THE ROCKPILE REVIEW - “Bottom Feeding”
Figster replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I try to stay away from the X's and O's conversation as much as possible because I'm just not very knowledgable especially in comparison with some of our fellow Bills fans here on TBD. I do however know enough to realize the point you make on play calling is a good one. Perhaps having a young QB still fairly early in his development deserves as much blame for failure to execute properly as the Bills OC. Something to think about before calling for Dabolls head on a platter... -

THE ROCKPILE REVIEW - “Bottom Feeding”
Figster replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Awesome read Shaw The accurate account of the game goes a long way in explaining why Buffalo believed it was not one player away from competing for a championship. The Bills are well coached and have a roster full of good character hard working athletes. Still a ways to go though, Thanks again for the good read, much appreciated. -
I'm not much of a betting man and never bet on the Bills. I'm not sure why.

Allen picked it right up If I remember correctly and could have easily went unnoticed IMO. -

I was thinking the same thing. I think it was a botched snap Allen picked up.
