I’m genuinely confused at a lot of people out there who have chosen to be cynics and bitter about this. The news outlet Facebook comments are full of people who seem to make it their day to rain on others’ parades.

I mean this is just objectively false. Athletes have to be intelligent because, at minimum, they’ll be academically disqualified if they fall below a certain GPA. Further, athletes who are stupid don’t succeed (Vince Young, JaMarcus Russell, Cody Ford). This leads me to two concisions: 1) Jesse was a dork who got stuffed in lockers in high school and has a grudge against athletes; 2) Jesse thinks athletes, predominantly Black, all have an IQ of 12.
