He came in cold in a playoff game against one of the best defenses in football and scored about as much as Tyrod did in 58 mins. Usually players get better over time. It was his rookie year, he’s looked much better this year. Which would be an understandable progression. -
As soon as Kyle was out I knew our run defense would improve. It’s amazing that nobody ever puts together how long we have been terrible against the run, and what the 1 constant on the Dline has been. He’s a great interior pass rusher but he kills us against the run.

That’s not even true. He didn’t fail in his 2nd start. The guy was a rookie 5th rounder last year and people are giving him a life sentence from 1 half of his first start.

Peterman has done nothing but complete passes and move the team all preseason. He is very decisive and gets the ball out incredibly fast. I hope Allen gets it going but if something happened to end this preseason this min, I’d guess Peterman starts week 1.

I say give Allen 1 more series to produce something then give Nate some time with the starters.

If Allen doesn’t move it soon here I wouldn’t mind letting Peterman getting some time with the 1s. Watch KB go off again as soon as he gets in

Run Defense looks better without Kyle. The run defense for this team has been so bad for his entire career and magically gets better even he’s not on the field

What if Allen isn't good tommorow?

The way I see it, if Allen struggles tomorrow-Peterman starts. And if that happens then I’ll support Peterman and hold out hope he plays well. I think tomorrow is more about it being “Allen’s turn” then anything and that this competition is anything but over. I feel like if Allen plays well against starters, he starts. If he doesn’t, Peterman starts week 1. -
Gruden is saying now that the Raiders might not have a back up QB (I could have told him that). Maybe we can throw in his choice of Peterman or a Mccarron with Shaq/Hughes and a 1st. If we learned anything from Gruden as a commentator, he loves every player in the league. He might be interested.
