he keeps interviewing and not getting hired (Denver just last year) so I doubt it happens.

It's weird to me, because for some guys like Rex the "interview" is a formality. You either want him or you don't, so why bother if you aren't going to hire him?

Rex is a variation of the Rooney Rule.  He represents the Rummy Rule.  Ticks all the boxes:

    1. Famous Football Father.

    2. Has brudder who can also contribute.  Not so much to the team, but local merchants will love them for stupid commercials and restaurant endorsements.

    Dutch.  Get it straight.

A contractor I worked with on various projects over the years was of Dutch heritage, and introduced me to the following saying.  My paternal grandmother's family was Dutch, which also allows me this observation:

    Dutch

    Wooden shoes.

    Wooden head.

    Wouldn't listen.

Kurtwood Smith showed up at my house a couple months ago. That was weird.

I was so awestruck that I totally forgot to ask him to call me a dumb-ass and get it on video. That would have been epic.

Forgive my being nosy, but why?

Who's on first, didn't realize he was a Dr.

Rarely during the run of classic Doctor Who did characters ask the line "Doctor Who?"  With the revival in 2005, it seems some minor character is asking it on at least an annual basis.

"What do you mean that's the Doctor?!  Doctor Who?"

More evidence that he does truly have sociopathic tendencies???

Dorsey went and reviewed the video of what he had said...then probably went apes*** on the iPad he viewed it on.

Even better if after he said:

This is an interesting quote. I do some truth to this

I def prefer Brady, he just opened the offense up,  and even their final drive of the year went 16 plays, nearly 7 min and should've been capped off with a TD

    🤣🤣

Hey, Dorsey!  If the Browns gig doesn't work out, there's always politics.  "Quality human being."

    🤨 FFS.

  7. My septic tank pumpout service always voted thumbs down on those weekly treatments that you flush down the toilet.

They always said better to just throw a dead chicken in the tank after a pumpout, to get the microbes percolating. 🤔

That was Darryl #2 that told me that.

As a child of the 70s (born in the last year of the Baby Boom in the 60s), I must applaud you for this list. You generally nailed it.

Just one correction: those ridiculously underpowered Camaros were really a thing of the 80s.

PJ O'Rourke said the 60s were a "decade without quality control." The line was good, but it applied to the 70s, not the 60s.

    In the 60s, yes.

The 70s were with marginally better QC, but backwater college educated accountants were holding the purse strings.  The GM 'X' car (Chevrolet Citation). 🤨

And according to the Magliozzi brothers from 'Car Talk', most of the Camaros on the road were powered by L-6 engines, owned by women named Donna. (Pronounced 'Dawww-nah', in that inimitable Boston accent.)

Why hasn't Tastykake produced any new snack in 30 years?

I want to know who's responsible for the latest version of Hostess Cupcakes here in Canada.

    This was the classic:

    🤨

  10. Go watch the movie 'Network', and see if Arthur Jensen's (Ned Beatty) tirade to Howard Beale (Peter Finch) isn't spot on to dpberr's observation above.
