We had an office girl run an annual pool years ago at a previous employer's. 'Betty Mac' charged $10 a square, and by the time she finished off paying for all the possible combinations (corner touch, side touch, etc.) you had to be pretty unlucky to not get something.

Another coworker at a different company finally got pissed off at chasing people for their entry fee, that he took $100 off the top for handling and carrying charges. A few groused, but Tony was a good guy, and the rest of us just told the whiners to find a pool better suited to their needs. -

Are they giving Allen a sangawich?! Now watching him zooming around on any given Sunday could qualify him for a 'dangerwich'. Just add extra hot sauce, and a side of blue cheese dressing. 😁

Do they still have parlay cards? A few college games for the Saturday, and usually the full NFL Sunday schedule. I forget the odds, somehow pick 4 correct out of 4 games paid 10:1 ?
Just about every blue collar plant had an agent working them. Plenty of high schools, too.

Quite a few people born in 1956 found that a pin could alter the block lettering 6 into a 5, at least on NY state driver licenses. 😁

Well, my friend is a writer, and unbeknownst to me, he worked on a bunch of films back in the day and has kept in touch with many of the people he worked with, all of whom were evidently invited to the party. So a stream of bizarre Hollywood folks showed up at my house, including "Red Foreman".
Craziest was when the T1000 rolled up on a Harley. We chatted about motorcycles for a while. That was pretty surreal.
