Believe, that is it! The reviews featured 3 critical negative words: inaccurate, Inexperienced and raw. Those outweighed the positives of: arm strength, size and desire. Should they have? The quest for the Holy Grail Franchise QB is an in exact science and most certainly, in his first 2 seasons, the lack of surrounding talent, was underwhelming to say the least. It was difficult to figure out, is he inaccurate, because of the stiffs he’s throwing to and the fact that he’s running for his life so often or is it an innate lack of his own talents and abilities? The truth is probably a hybrid of a sub Offensive team and the Coaching desire to somewhat restrain him from doing crazy things. Allen still has the crazy gene in him- to make spectacular plays or make a profound embarrassing disaster. But now, he has so much help and has gained so much knowledge, that he no longer has to do foolish things! e.g. Where is the line on that v Rams pirouette play for the first down near the Goal line, between calculated brilliant timing v.s. being smashed and possibly hurt from behind? Still developing, but now at a high level of competence!

I think Capacchio summed it up, perfectly! Bills fans have waited for almost a generation to finally find an entertaining team! Year after year after year, we watched in horror, as a bunch of stumblebum, penalty filled losers, marched out every Sunday, to find new, excruciating ways to lose! And their HCs were as abysmally stupid and ill suited for the task of bringing order, responsibility and a sea change in attitude. Even, with the rare Ws, it was always a grind out, low scoring affair, where the talentless QBs, throwing to Sunday Beer League Receivers, had to rely on the D to hold off a 17-16 win! And the abominable streak of 49 cringeworthy games without a 300 yard Passing game? While, at the same time, a 1/2 dozen NFL QBs were lighting up the scoreboard weekly!!! Finally, as Sal alluded to... IT WAS BORING! Horribly, insipidly boring- finally driving us away from Season Ticket status- 5 years back! To be a fan, was to hide out, awaiting the inevitable: ”What is wrong with your Buffalo Bills?” EVERYTHING was the answer! And so finally, all has changed! Like the Glory Years, we EXPECT the Bills to compete in and win every game, minimum the Division! We expect our QB to put up 3 Passing TDs. We expect the Offense to score early and often. We expect them to roll through the Red Zone into the End Zone. WE EXPECT THEM TO BE ENTERTAINING AND WIN! And they are. Led by a rough diamond, who can only get better, as he marshals his talents to ensure victories and avoid unnecessary risk! We are entertained... even in this bizarre year without our fellow fans or friends in bars, cheering them on. GO BILLS! Go to the SB!

Drafting a Franchise QB is no easy task. If I recall my own prediction for that Draft year, it was: Darnold, the other Josh 😂, Allen, Mayfield and farrrr down, like everyone else- Jackson and Rudolph. Today, Jackson is well out in front, with Allen closing fast. Mayfield is questionable and the others are negligible. You don’t always luck out with a Luck or Mahomes or now...Burrow! The Bills were wise to slow play Josh, in building up his strengths. He’s still learning to develop them and avoid his gaffes. NO easy task!

To me, it was payback for the absurd Int call on Kroft, which turned the game completely around! Bills would have had the ball, first and ten on the LA 40, up 25.
