  1. Not even close. They may have not signed any good/big name players but they didnt let 3 pivotal parts of their team go like we did. I agree with Bart. Marv is building this team for the future, not for the upcoming season.
  2. The Stadium Wall has over 5,600 topics on the board and it seems like 5,559 of those are about former players. Move on.
  3. Please prove to me that Walker is an upgrade. Please! Until you can, all we have to go on is the thousands of Raiders fans who have watched him for many years and are saying the same thing about him as we were saying about Mike Williams. How many other teams were knocking down Walkers door to sign him? Maybe they are wrong. But until he shows us otherwise, I am going to tend to believe those people who have been watching him for many years. Whittle is an upgrade? He was signed on for a tiny amount of money and will basically be used for backup/depth purposes. I never called Walker a 'dork' as you so elegantly put it. I called him a question mark. You must be one of the "trust in Marv! He will do nothing wrong" guys huh? As far as your last sentence goes. Wow. Well I guess if you believe it is true, then it must be true!
  4. I understand what you're saying. But! I surely hope that signing one good free agent lineman Dockery is all where are going to do to solidify our offensive line. That means we will have the same line we had last year, plus one good guard. Walker is a huge question mark, and that is saying it in the nicest way possible.
  5. I don't respect anyone more because they have more posts than another person. Yet if you are going to tell a veteran member to leave because he was trying to make a funny post, then why even bother? And you're not a veteran member. You're a veteran lurker.
  6. Not to mention the energy that Spikes brought to the game. Jeez it got me pumped up (in the stands) when he came out all fired up and ready to go.
  7. My thoughts are this. Our defensive tackles were horrid. They could get nearly no push on the offensive line and that allowed the offensive line to push them back and into the LB's. It also left a few lineman open to make key blocks on our LB's. Fletcher was a good LB. There should be no questioning this. He is a veteran member. And you are?
  8. Im not sure if your post was sarcastic but I will reply to it, as if you it were not. Your first paragraph about McGahee was well said. From there on, I start to disagree with a few of your comments. Fletcher was a good player, who seemed to give it his all game after game, and part of the reason he was making tackles 5+ yards downfield is because we didnt have any good DT's to put some pressure on the offensive line. You could put Shawn Merriman on this team, and if we have no DT's that can push the offensive line back a bit, then even he (as good as he is) is going to be making a few tackles down the field. Marv added one established good lineman this off-season. Dockery. We signed a question mark in Walker, and a backup in Whittle. Is their really a better team player for player? About half of the league actually. Ellison is no where near elite. Hopefully he will become elite someday. Schobel equal to Bruce Smith? Not even close. Schobel is about 25 levels from Bruce Smith. Personally I dont consider Reed, Price, or Everett "weapons" ... personally I see them as just about an average NFL wide receiver.
  9. When the main board looks like this: McGahee and his comments: argghh! McGahee was mean to us! McGahee said we dont have good looking women! Burn McGahee jerseys Wait no! Dont burn McGahee Jerseys Spikes traded for Walker and pick Walker is strong McGahee is a scum bag Why is McGahee so mean to us? I cried all night over the McGahee comments and now I need to vent You are simply telling us to skip the 50 threads on the same topic, instead of posting in the thread and telling people to chill? Trust me. I understand the frustration over the McGahee situation. Any Bills fan would. But enough is enough. Just let it go man.
  10. Mainly I think everyone is being a bunch of cry-babies over this. Start one thread about it. Cry *cough* sorry I meant "vent" about it in that thread, and then get over it. It is just a former players comments.
  11. Actually I was never a real big fan of McGahee. And I never said we shouldnt say "anything" about his comments but this about the 4th or 5th thread on his comments.
  12. I can't believe how many threads we have about a guy most of us dislike and is no longer on the team. Just let it go.
  13. Faulty wording on my part I suppose. I didnt necessarily not watch the rest of the game. Nate's job was over in about 3 seconds or less.
  14. I guess you know more about it then I do. I know of Sidebar, which has been open for a while and it is open past 2am. That comes down to personal opinion. I will always love the Buffalo Bills, but if I had the money to live in Florida, and fly up to see the games then I would definately rather be in Florida. Thats just my opinion. It seems as if everytime im in Buffalo there is not much to do. Rochester, has three major streets with just a ton to do. East, Monroe, and Lake are full of fun ... including fun that doesnt require someone being intoxicated.
  15. I agree with nearly everything you said. To answer your Nate Clements question: no I didnt just assume because his name wasnt being called. I WENT to the games and singled him out and watched him most of the game. If you go back through the archive, I have been doing this for a while. Nate was solid all year long. That has nothing to do with a "man-crush"
  16. I was actually thinking more of a short plane ride than a long drive, considering these are multi-millionaire NFL players we are talking about. Jacksonville is an extremely short plane ride from Orlando, Daytona Beach, and Tampa. I guess you have your opinions about Buffalo. I know when my parents grew up, they spoke of Buffalo as a much grander city than it is now.
  17. I am a diehard fan. I will go to games next season, just as I did the season before that and before that and before that ... etc. I will continue to hope with every inch of my being that they win every game or atleast enough to make the playoffs. I will continue to hope that they win in the playoffs and make the Super Bowl. And then I will hope that they win it. And I will be supporting them all the way. What I WILL not do, is blindly agree with everything the front office is doing and find an excuse for everything they do. Reading comprehension my friend. I said "proves that fans will go to any length to backup the decisions made by their beloved team. No matter how ridiculous." ... I am saying that some of the teams decisions, IMO, are ridiculous and shouldnt be blindly backed up. But questioned also. But of course you say, to be a diehard fan, you must simply backup your teams decisions and go with the ride. You must be one of those people who believe if you dont agree with the war then your not really being an American. My apologies. That is what I meant.
  18. I never said anything about Chippewa and I never said that I KNEW the Buffalo bars werent open to 4am. I just said I 'doubted' they were.
  19. Well I tend to believe the fans who have been watching him for multiple years. The same way other fans believed us when we told them that Mike Williams was a bust. I guess we were just a bunch of idiots huh? Because were just fans. As far as McGahee goes. He IS a good player. No doubt. He has an extremely bad attitude and work ethic, but in the right situation he could become a good player. Just not on the Bills. As you said - Good Riddance. Peyton Manning, Barry Sanders, Frank Gore, Tomlinson, Jason Taylor ... etc. These are the players that have not won a SB or AFC/NFC Championship prior to last season. They should have been thrown out from there team also I suppose? Agreed. Excuses. Draft a good LB, and let him learn under London for a year before shopping Fletcher around. I responded to this half/half arguement in multiple threads. Please look it up. This is simply NOT true, and its ridiculous how people keep posting this. He had a SOLID year, all the way through. Its simply that after midway he made plays that got him more recognized for the TV. When a CB is simply locking down his receiver and the ball is not being thrown to that receiver you dont think of that CB. Its an old saying in football "if a CB is doing his job, you wont know his name" (or something along those lines) .... Would you like me to list other "great moves" that teams thought they were making when shopping an injured player who then comes back to go to the pro-bowl? Agreed. Although many believe we paid too high for him. We paid what the Cowboys paid Steinbach and Steinbach was rated higher. Is it possible that Mike Williams was a stud tackle and the rest of the line just stunk? Sure it is, but doubtful. Just remember. $25 million dollars. Please remember that number when he is getting plowed over (hopefully he doesnt). I dont complain about this move, I just simply dont know why people list him as a "key" pickup. He isnt. As you said, he is just a depth/backup player. That is all. This post (above me), if nothing else, proves that fans will go to any length to backup the decisions made by their beloved team. No matter how ridiculous.
  20. You guys are using extremely faulty reasoning. You can not conclude that just because we have not won anything of significance with these players it is 'OK' to let them go. By your reasoning it would have been OK for the Indianapolis Colts to have traded/let go of Peyton Manning after 8th season. The Chargers should have let go of Tomlinson after a few seasons of them not making the playoffs, and him being on the team. Barry Sanders in Detroit? Get out of here Barry - we want someone who can win! Your reasoning is faulty and I hope you begin to realize that sooner or later.
