  1. As I said, I didnt 'know', I just doubted. Care to name some of these bars? I have never seen them.
  2. Is this a joke? Baltimore, I believe, has the upper hand over us. Jacksonville definately so, due to the fact that it is very close by to other major cities. Green Bay is about the size of Hamburg, so that doesnt even count. The others im not sure about. I really really really doubt they close past 2am in Buffalo. Have you strolled the streets in Buffalo past midnight? Its a ghosttown. Other major cities there are a ton of people still up and having fun. Im not sure about San Fran, but I was in Boston/Providence a few months ago and we left a bar at nearly 2AM and it was still open. Rochester, is a better party scene than Buffalo if you ask me. East Ave, Monroe Ave, and Lake Ave are the main destinations. Those pictures look an awful like North Collins.
  3. Possibly, but I would say it is fair to say that the 80 million that the Redskins offered rocked Rosenhaus's world. I don't think he saw that coming. I bet he was thinking mid 60's. Maybe not though. Yeah the website I got the $22 million guaranteed from was wrong. It is actually $10 million guaranteed.
  4. No, we would have still had to guarantee him some money. Clements contract with San Fransisco is going to be backloaded and he is only getting 22 million in guaranteed. If you didn't know, that is what we are paying Langston Walker (the Oakland reject) in guaranteed money. Also, San Fransisco's offer shocked most of the league including us, and probably Clements. If we offered Clements around 68-70 million before free agency hit, I believe there would be a good chance that he would have taken it. So to recap: Walker - Clements ... Walker - Clements. Tough choice? Not for me. Because he is *cough* dedicated to the Buffalo Bills and is coming off of two seasons of injury plagued play. If he refused to take a pay cut, then you put him 2nd on the depth chart, and he doesnt budge, then you trade him. KFFL, and other media sources seem to do a pretty good job of detailing which teams have spoken to and are interested in players. Does any remember Buffalo ever being on Adalius's contacts or radar? I dont. If it cost 10 million more? Absolutely not. If it cost $2-3 million more in possible incentives if he plays well/makes pro-bowl, then yes.
  5. Alright. Yes, I was just on a different thinking pattern than you were. Everything you said was true. I guess Kelly and Manning fly out of town to go partying.
  6. LOL! What was the bet again? I very vaguely remember it. Was it that Manning would win the SB?
  7. Yes, this is a message board. Which is why I am stating my opinion. Whats wrong with that?
  8. He never said his performance on the field was affected by the city he was in. He commented on him having to play video games after practice/game instead of clubbing. But never said it affected his gameplay. Yes I do, but I dont think you do. Kelly and Manning both are huge partyers. I understand what you are saying about the city (PS have you been to Indianpolis?). What I am saying is that you said it is not the "standard for a professional athlete who is serious about his career" ... yet for Manning and Kelly it IS/WAS THE STANDARD! They just didnt let it conflict with work. But it WAS the standard for them to go clubbing after practice/after a game/in the off-season. McGahee made the comment that he (after practice/game) would play video games. He never said "during". manning/kelly AFTER the games/practice would party. That was their STANDARD. Maybe we are just pushing two different points and cant understand each other???
  9. Im not defending him. Im simplying trying to show you guys how ridiculous you sound trying to bash him on an internet message board. Many of you seem to be taking what he said out of context also. And what is a douce?
  10. Because 40% of his paycheck is going to Child Support, he will be broke? I guess I missed the part where he said that he wasnt committed because of the city. I just read that he didnt like Buffalo because it didnt have anything to do. Anyone have a quote where he said he wasnt commited because of the city? No. You said "you can party ts not a rule, or the standard for a professional athlete who is serious about their career" ... but it has become the standard for Peyton Manning and was the standard for Jim Kelly. So were they not serious about their career?
  11. Peyton Manning is one of the greatest QB's of all time, and last seasons Super Bowl winning QB. He is seen at clubs and parties throughout the city on multiple nights. Indianpolis fans will tell you about it more ... google it. Remember that Jim Kelly guy? He was known to be one heck of a partyer also. Were these guys not "serious about their career" in your opinion.
  12. It shouldn't be an issue, but in todays NFL it is. NFL/NBA players are known for clubbing, partying ... etc. It is part of the sports culture so to speak.
  13. You go guys! Your signs will surely show, multi-millionaire, NFL player, Willis McGahee who is boss! Other than the women part (which I wont comment on), everything he said in these two paragraphs are pretty much true. Our beloved Buffalo is now a rundown city. If any of you are from, live, or visit some of the other NFL cities you will see a startling difference. Buffalo looks very rundown and boring when compared to Miami, Baltimore, Arizona, San Fransisco, Washington (shall I go on?) ... etc.
  14. Good post. Especially the bolded part. I bolded part of your quote. That was hilarious. McGahee needed to go. No doubt about it. I would have resigned Clements. I would have backloaded his contract and released him in three or so years when he is 31+, and has been in the league nearly 10 years. We may take a minor cap hit, but who cares? Its a minor cap hit for one season, and we dont have to pay him the rest ... OR, we could trade him after three or so years. Take your pick. I would have told Takeo Spikes that if he wants to remain the starter on this team, he must re-structure his contract. Im not talking about veteran minimum here, but something lower than he has now with incentives to get up to where he was if he makes the pro bowl. I would have done everything in the Bills capacity to sign Adalius Thomas. I would have signed Dockery as Marv did, and went after Steinbach also. Why in the world we signed Walker and Whittle is beyond me. If we didnt sign Walker and Whittle we would have 26 million more to pay other players. Not to mention that Walkers contract is nearly all guaranteed money. We are giving Langston Walker more guaranteed money than we are giving Derrick Dockery!!! (edit - this is incorrect. Faulty website) How does this not concern some of you?
  15. Yes, you would usually get a 2nd round pick for trading down so low. But you seem to be forgetting that the 2nd round pick we are receiving IS Michael Turner. We are trading down and receiving a 2nd round pick in the form of a good RB.
  16. Hasty Generalization at its finest. I'm not sure if this was directed to me or not, but I will answer as if it were (directed to me). No, I'm not saying to write off the season. I hope the Bills go 16-0 and win the Super Bowl, next season. I truly do! But what I want to know is where this huge sense of hope is coming from(?) Let me please review: We have lost: Takeo Spikes (assuming), London Fletcher, Nate Clements, and Willis McGahee. We have no one to replace Willis McGahee. Haha {insert} funny joke about how horrible we all perceive Willis McGahee to be {here}. We are simply hoping that the draft will answer the need for a RB. We have no one proven to replace Fletcher or Spikes. We have Ellison - a real nice kid who shows signs of good play, but I also remember a fair bit of criticism from others, although I cant remember the exact comments. So we are depending on Crowell, Ellison, and the draft to make up for our LB needs. We have Youboty to replace Nate Clements. Do I really need to say anything else about that? Probably not, but I will. Youboty is about as unproven as an NFL player could be. We have seen little to nothing of him since the Bills have drafted him. To compliment him (or vice versa) we have McGee (or toast mcgee as some people like to call him). From what I have gathered from the other side of the viewing gallery, we have this: The Bills are re-building and Marv has given us no reason to doubt him as of yet, and we will fulfill our needs in the draft. {insert another joke about how we can easily find another running back like Willis McGahee}. The season, or training camp for that matter, has not yet begun and thus we can not think about criticizing anything until its week 6 and we are doing poorly.
  17. You bring up valid points. McGahee did improve in pass protection by the end of the season though. This is one of my main areas of concern. Everyone is in love with Marv and what we are doing, and believe that nothing can go wrong. Refer to Jokers post. So because the Oakland Raiders offense was a horrid offense that means the fans are not to be believed? Your own law of syllogism is mind boggling. This has absolutely nothing to do with Nate Clements, and if you think so, then you either 1) Did not read the entire post or 2) Did not understand what you read. Thank-you. You very simply summarized my post in a simple paragraph. They say you learn something every day. Today I learned that if you have any negatism towards Marv Levy or how the Buffalo Bills offseason is going, then you might as well not post it at TBD, because this is the land of eternal optimism.
  18. Without a doubt, in the end, we will probably be better off by letting McGahee. Yet if you re-read my post it is mainly about, not expecting this season to be an overly optimistic season. You can not expect a rookie RB to jump in the shoes of McGahee, and on and on with the other positions we need filled. Dockery was a good signing. Walker is known to Raider fans as the human "turnstile" and Whittle? Come on man. Whittle?
  19. We have seen most of the LB's on our roster in game. So no, I dont believe we are better at LB than what meets the eye. We did the same thing to McCargo last year, that we are doing with all of our draftees this year. We threw away the veteran (adams) and stuck in McCargo. Why not let the draftees learn under the veterans?
  20. Yeah these witty posts are wonderful in theory, but lets be real. Yes, Willis McGahee probably didn't try his best and yes he probably could have been a better RB. Behind the horrid offensive line that the Buffalo Bills have, McGahee rushed for nearly a 1,000 yards in 14 games. Not great, but not bad. Its somewhat ridiculous how Buffalo fans tend to hate on players who are no longer on the team. Its sickening. If you expect our rookie draftee RB to rush for over 1,000 yards with our offensive line, then I hope you pass along the line whatever optimistic drug you are smoking. I would love to have a hit. Oh! how witty of you. You must be proud.
  21. I spoke about this multiple times throughout the year in many different threads concerning Nate Clements and his possible departure. Now looking back, this off season (to me anyhow) has become worse then I could ever had imagined a few months ago. Yes, good teams are built through the draft. I understand that. But while they make themselves a good team through the draft, these teams are mostly willing to keep good veterans on the roster to groom the draftees and make them better. We have now let Nate Clements, London Fletcher, Willis McGahee, and Takeo Spikes (assuming) all go. This is concerning basically due to the fact that we do not already have good draftees waiting in the wings to take over these positions. We have no premier RB on the staff. Furthermore we do not even have a RB that has the possibility of a becoming a premier RB. We, as Bills nation, are relying on the fact that we can "trust in Marv" and that the draft is not yet here. I hope some of you come to realize that for us to even match the record/possibility of the team we had last year, we must draft a RB who is as good immediately as Willis McGahee. Two linebackers, who are as good as Takeo Spikes and London Fletcher, immediately, and a CB who is as good as Nate Clements is, immediately (Good luck). Yes, maybe we will have a draft that will produce good players in the future (2-3 years), but I doubt any of our draftees will be as good as the players we let go, in their rookie season. Therefore, please understand that we will probably, undoubtedly, take a step back this season. And all the optimists say (all together now) "trust in marv"
  22. Did you really try to compare Domanick Davis to Shaud Williams? Davis(Williams) is a better back with a bum knee than Shaud could hope to be with two, great, healthy knees.
  23. I guess the Super Bowl Champion, Indianapolis Colts, were crazy for taking a RB in first round last year instead of working on their horrid defensive line?
