  1. It looks like an uphill battle fore dome lovers.

Terry Pegula, from today's Buffalo News as quoted on the front page of TBD:

    Quote

I used to watch the old NFL, then along came this league of ‘inferiors,’ the AFL,” he says. “But we used to love to watch those games. And the Bills had some really good teams, man. And it’d be snowing, just like our game with Indy a couple of years ago. People love that stuff. That’s why I hate domed stadiums.

I'd post more but I am "limit reached" with the news.

No, Peterman isn’t better than Kaep. It’s about much more than that, though. It’s absolutely right if you believe in the rights of business owners to run their individual businesses ( legally of course)  the way they see fit.

    Theory 1:

He could be a starter on 4 or 5 bottom teams this season. He could be a 2nd QB on any team..

The rub: he's asking Top-15 starter money (20 million). This does not lead to a contract.

    Theory 2:

    Quote

As for Kaepernick himself, he doesn't speak often, but he may well have moved past football, preferring to put his social activism first. He has not played since the 2016 season and he and Eric Reid recently reached a settlement in their collusion grievance case against the NFL for an undisclosed amount of money.

  3. Reintroduction of Popeyes Chicken Sandwich Ties Up Route 7 Traffic

The article told me enough that the Popeye's experience is mediocre:

    • dude left without a sandwich after a 30 minute wait.. when you go to Cheek CFA.. you're getting the goods, within 10 minutes when they are busy
    • crispy chicken... if I wanted crispy I'll order deep fried breading. CFA has the right amount of breading.
    • sauce.. If I wanted sauce I'll order it. I like the CFA sandwich which is nude but you can add CFA sauce, or mayo

Having flamed Popeyes, I still say I like the place and will find some satisfaction in the sandwich. It's just not going to supplant CFA as my goto.

    Videos of Maryland Popeyes stabbing

I lived in MD, twice. It's a rough place.  ...and the drivers, forget about it.

We need to send in Special Forces to extract SDS.

They got very political and very anti-conservative. I had to stop reading it cause their articles turned from mostly sports to mostly liberal talking points

Yes. And Deadspin's parent company recognized the problem. So the parent company came out with an edict "Do write unless it's about sports, no non-sports content is allowed."

So all the pansy writers and editors just up and quit. I think they thought they could blackmail the company to allow politics again.

Does anyone else think this is a reflection on the coach's demeanor?

    No.

Contrary, with some exceptions, the OL has done well in the physicality department.

The DL isn't the most physical in the league but I don't attribute that to coach demeanor... I think the DL is lighter weight than average and geared for speed and technique rather than an in your face slugfest.

Did the Bills ever take a survey of season ticket holders of the type of new stadium they want ?  How much more in ticket prices they would be willing to pay for a indoor stadium ?

Yes. Terry and Kim conducted a wide survey. Many here participated.

They haven't released the results yet. But the structure of the questions will provide the data you are looking for if it is ever released.

I suspect we'll find people talk a good bluster when it comes to stadium quality and cost; but when the rubber hits the road and translates into higher ticket costs and/or PSLs.. people will back off. Before you know it, the Bills are playing at All High Stadium.

  7. Modern open air stadium, with some shelter,  at the current Orchard Park site is option 1A. Realistic financially. True to roots.

Option 1B is a dome at the current site in OP acceptable. Is a stretch as to who is paying.

A dome downtown = unacceptable. Unrealistic financially. Folly.

    2. For a team that had a bye two weeks ago I am incredibly disappointed in the entire group as a whole. Against Miami they came out very flat and yesterday they wilted in the 2nd half. Perhaps it’s me maybe someone can explain so sports science on byes having negative effects, but I have been very disappointed in how unprepared they’ve seemed after the bye.

The talking heads say a McDermott coached team will be prepared, regardless of circumstance or opponents. I'm just not buying it. To twist a phrase from High School Musical: they didn't have their head in the game. Who knows, it could be a bye week phenomena. But I suspect it's failure of the coaching staff to keep the players humbled and hungry after their recent successes.

McD is now a .500 coach. But the losses are fugly and reflect poorly on team preparation.

We're certainly more than one player away from being elite.  That probably explains why Beane has not made any trades, and will most likely finish the season with the personnel they have.

    Yep.

Contrast our situation with that of the LA Rams and the King's ransom they paid for Jalen Ramsey. The Rams see themselves as elite and are obviously are trying to win now. Personally, I see the Bills in a better drivers seat.. winning now burns your future.

    Can we trade Daboll?

Depends on his contract. If written old school Daboll's rights can be traded. But the new school generic coaches contracts are written as personal services contacts to the owner and close the door on tradeability. Your mileage may vary.
