  1. He's even got the same fat face as Matt. Dude needs to grow a beard ASAP.
  2. I'd tell you to watch out for pass rush from Miami over the next 2-3 years. That's where the old Mizzou DL coach went to, dude created a factory there. Pass rush is essential so I understand the overvaluing aspect. You might be right on the depth of the class too, teams are likely convinced they can skip DB in the 1st and get a contributor later.
  3. 2019 might have Jarrett Stidham and Jacob Eason. 2020 might have another McCaffrey lad. Tough calls to make.
  4. I understand it. There's bound to be a few teams with a stagnant pass rush that sees his flash plays and values that highly. He's one of a few guys that the league will value higher than I do because I tend to like my pass rushers being well-rounded. If Harris can harness what he does well, he'll probably be worth it. Mizzou has developed a few technically-solid guys recently, Markus Golden turned out much better than I expected.
  5. Bless him, he means well. He's harmless if not a tad delusional on his place in the world.
  6. Solomeh Thomas - probably not there if you believe everything you read. Understandable pick because he fits the McDermott DE profile and can mix in as a 3-tech in down/distances packages. Corey Davis - the stud WR in this class. Big body that can high point, runs smooth routes and looks like TO after the catch. Would be my pick if I had a say. Marshon Lattimore - fantastic CB prospect. Has the best feet at the position that I've seen watching draft prospects. Game changer with speed, length, ball skills. If he drops to 10, hamstrings might be really bad so not without risk attached. OJ Howard - like the player but I'm anti-TE in the 1st for most circumstances, especially so when we already have a starter. Fit for the offense but I'd break **** if he's the guy. John Ross - ultra talented speed WR with insane after catch skills. Not a one-trick pony, can run a large chunk of the route tree. Injuries are plentiful and could be career-limiting. Shouldn't be the pick. Not bad for 3am
  7. Fine, I'll have one ready for Monday morning. No QB though, 2019 class looks better
  8. When Damond talks about things revolving around small school prospects, I typically believe him. He's got links to a bunch of low-level all-star games etc. With anything beyond that, I take him with a pinch of salt. I can't follow him on Twitter because he's a loon that "didn't vote because Jesus is my president"
  9. I'm a dude with access to the internet and a WordPress account, nothing more Yolo jokes about my 2018 mock draft but I've literally already got a 600+ player watch list for next year sorted. At this point, I might be clinically mad.
  10. My apologies for derailing the discussion. Feel free to resume hating me for my pass rusher takes
  11. I used to be one of those guys that looked at things like the CBS draft rankings and had a mock draft in my BBMB signature based off it. As long as people are honest with how they acquire information, it's all good. I know that more people are looking at sites like Draft Breakdown for insight so there's less borrowed opinion around than there has been. I hated borrowing opinions and wanted to form my own because I would vouch for the success/failure of others. Doesn't mean that I know anything but I treat this hobby of mine as a process. I'm the nerd with a grading system and scout report templates because I found my passion in my mid 20's.
  12. I was a prick on BBMB for a long time with insults and infractions galore. I've held myself in check a lot better here because I love having a place to get into discussions and debates. This **** gets old real fast these days Chalk it up to experience for both of us. No hard feelings on my part but you got under my skin fast with that. One of the few things that gets my back up and brings out the hostility. I don't have much but my word is something I take pride in. I'll know better for next time. It's just difficult to pick up context through text and I probably jumped the gun, so I'm sorry for that.
  13. All I did was offer an opinion, just like I do on most prospects/topics. I'm happy to explain myself if anyone has a question. After all, I'm the sad !@#$er that watches a ton of CFB and gets his rocks off from message board notoriety I don't think I'm some big shot, I'm the most self-deprecating guy around these parts and crack jokes about my failed evaluations regularly. Some people here appreciate my thoughts and I provide them. If you don't, that's wonderful. Healthy disagreement is a beautiful thing. You're absolutely within your rights to disagree, I merely don't take kindly to the way you approached this. Perhaps I shouldn't respond in kind but, frankly, I don't care enough to bite my tongue.
  14. I'm well aware and recently put something in another thread to this effect. The stark truth is that his knee could give up walking up to the podium over the weekend and we'd have no insurance policy against it. Microfracture surgery makes him a ticking time bomb and it's not a risk I take at 10. I don't have him as a 1st rounder because of it.
  15. I've written on prospects for a few years, having been paid to do so. You're damn right I take my opinion and what I put out seriously. I take pride in putting time into watching prospects because it's something I enjoy. I started doing it when I suffered badly with depression and needed a hobby to keep myself from being bored. I take any and all comments that I don't watch players as an insult. When others asked for explanations, I gave them. You waded in acting like an idiot and talking down to you is all you deserved.
  16. Draft week is a good time to be a corporate shill. Brother is making some serious coin Explain to me how I'm doing that when I'm lower on half a dozen pass rushers than the media is. If anything, accuse me of being contrarian for the sake of it. Neither are true but that one makes sense at least.
  17. I wish I had faith that he would stay healthy and have the longevity to play beyond his first contract. I think he could be WR1 for me if he came with those guarantees. If he somehow ends up being the pick, I'd be holding my breath for years.
  18. It's such a difficult crime to successfully prosecute because it really relies on concrete DNA evidence and the victim reporting the crime ASAP to get a rape kit performed. It's such a brutal experience to go through for the victim, I can't comprehend feeling that vulnerable and I can understand why their first thought isn't to seek help. The scary thing to consider is how many go unreported because they have no faith that the system will bring them justice. Thankfully, I've not known anyone that's gone through it on either side of the equation.
  19. He's tall and white, it's the prerequisite for next year hype. Hell, Todd McShay had Mitch Leidner at #25 in his first mock draft in May. Brady Gustafson got hype as well. Both were at the NFLPA All-Star game in January which is the proving ground for UDFA talent.
  20. I find these topics really difficult to discuss. I don't want to think someone could rape another, I don't want to think that someone could lie about being a victim. If he's guilty, throw away the key. If she is, do likewise. It makes it momumentally difficult for real victims to come forward and be believed when false allegations get thrown around. The timing looks like blatant opportunism but I'll let due process take place and hope that this doesn't result in a life ruined either way.
  21. You're quite welcome to do so. I'm going to let them put together a collegiate career first before we annoint them. Honestly can't wait for folks that hate Kizer for his completion % making a stand for Josh Allen
  22. Are we still taking a year-out stand for two sub 60-percent passers and a kid that's played a handful of games?
  23. Since, unlike some others, you asked nicely, I'm happy to oblige because I'm a lovely fella I've already gone into the athletic restrictions on Barnett which is a big part of why he's outside the 1st round for me. He's also a snap jumper and lines up offside a ton (which isn't always called). As Gunner said, his hands are really impressive (up there with Jon Allen for sheer brutality) and he plays with a high motor. I think he can be a 6-8 sack type of guy but I'm not investing a premium pick into that type of player. Taco is an interesting player because he's got really solid hands and he has the length that allows him room to work them. I think he's still fundamentally quite raw but he's not at the peak of his powers yet. He can be a quality speed-to-power rusher from the LDE spot but I don't see a lot of bend with him. He needs to develop some consistency with his counters because he has to win with power/technique rather than with athletic ability. Can be a really good player by Year 2-3 but his body of work leaves him as a project for now. If he made it to 44, I'd bite your hand off for him. Harris is the one I struggle with the most because the coaching changed at Mizzou last year and he struggled. He was well taught under Craig Kuligowski until the end of 2015 so you hope that he's not a problem child buying into a new system. His spin move is the trump card but his testing was borderline atrocious (even with his improvement at his Pro Day, it was only comparable to Yannick Ngakoue). He definitely plays faster/more agile than he tests though. Like Ngakoue (8 sacks as a rookie), I think he's fairly one-dimensional for now and suited to being a designated pass rusher. I think he's scheme-versatile as well, which boosts his stock. Just because I don't have a 1st rounder on a player doesn't mean that I hate him. It's just that athleticism on the edge matters and I can't take Barnett/Harris really early because they fall short of certain benchmarks. That's not to say that they can't be good players and, if I'm wrong on them, I'll admit to my mistakes.
  24. And did even worse at his Pro Day, more than 6 weeks later.
