I think we could say that about a guy already on our roster, former 2nd round pick. I'd rather persist with 3rd year Kouandjio than reach on someone like him. Not sure there's much 'upside' to Conklin, hence the low grade. Guys like Rob Havenstein are the guys to take, slow but already well versed in angles and technique.
-
I've got him as a 4th rounder. Not entirely sure he's got the skill set to play tackle. Heard a few whispers that teams prefer him at RG, makes a lot of sense to me.
-
How long before Bills fans all want Conklin because of the 40? Sure, 1.75 split is impressive. Still doesn't change his technique though.
-
Vadal is terrible but he's big so Mayock thinks he's Scherff. Allen is one of my favourite OL this year. Undersized but he's a tough bugger. Good starter for a long time.

Vadal Alexander up first. Could be the most gloriously horrible thing of the year.

I am ready for fat jiggly men in tight clothing!

You're right. I just don't see how the contract ends up being more efficient than releasing him. I'd rather spend that $12.9m on Glenn's franchise tag than Mario. At the crux of the issue is that Mario hasn't just had some kind of epiphany about playing in a 3-4, not sure what's motivating the comments.

Perfect assessment of him. I do have a legitimate fear that his career will be a short one unless he plays with more control. He's shown that he can tackle, just not consistently. I'd anticipate that he tests pretty well in Indy. Brings a ton of versatility. That FG block vs Lafayette, his balance is ridiculous.

Lot of issues Miller had were issues he had at Louisville. He's also switched positions which is not easy at all for a rookie. While he had a poor year, I haven't lost hope yet. Hopefully he can heal up properly and have a better sophomore year.

The idea of draft stock is always something I struggle with. The only boards we truly see are media ones and they tend to be more reactionary. There's always overcorrection for whatever reason. We're seeing a huge rise wtih Kamalei Correa at the moment, simply because one guy made one comment about him as a good fit for Arizona and pegged him at the back end of the 1st. All we can say for sure is the Bills had at least a 3rd round grade on him.

Late Day 3 as in 6th-7th round? Yeah, I don't recall him being projected in that range at all.

If you have a spare half hour, this is must watch stuff - http://draftbreakdown.com/players/deandre-houston-carson The kid could be so damn good. My #2 safety behind Ramsey.

Have heard that Fred is considering a lifetime contract from http://canterburywoods.org/ Big, if true. -
Treadwell not to run at the Combine - https://twitter.com/Bischoff_Scott/status/701792332337823744 Pretty much confirming that his time would've been on the slow side. Not that it means much.

Randy Gregory is who we thought he was

Well, this thread has gone to pot. -
He's good against the run, assignment-sound kind of guy, he'll be a functional starter for a while. Would prefer him to go to a full time 4-3 team. As you said, not a lot of variety to his pass rush. I don't see him being highly productive and age might limit growth potential.
-
Let's talk Kevin Dodd. Watching him at the moment and I'm just not feeling him as a 1st round pick. Guys he reminds me of are Kony Ealy (late 2nd) and Kareem Martin (late 3rd). He's also 24 before preseason starts.

If anyone knows a thing about the Nkemdiche brothers, this should really make them question taking Robert. Denzel is a big influence on his little brother and he'll end up on a psych ward before long. I'm not sure Spence is in the same boat, he's pretty clearly shown a lot of progress and has put the work in on and off the field. Nothing with addiction is ever 100% certain but I feel much safer about Spence. There seems to be a sincerity to his admissions of wrongdoing. -
I think Perry is less instinctive than Perryman which hurts but they should have similar times despite a 15 pound weight disparity. Denzel was a mid 2nd pick so he might end up in a similar range but there's so much talent in that range, it's feasible that some guys pegged in the 2nd last until the mid 3rd. Not a lot of stud players in the class but the Day 2 depth is kinda staggering.
-
I'm going to compare his Combine numbers to Brown and probably Denzel Perryman to get a feel for his testing numbers. I don't see why he needs to be as big as he was in Mobile, trimming down to 240-245 is plenty of bulk (same with Ragland). His 3-cone will be the biggest drill for me, Preston was big/slow but had a sub 7 second 3-cone (78th percentile at 9lbs above 'average' weight). I think 3rd round would be fine because I think he could be an eventual starter. Has the athletic profile on tape to play ST roles as a rookie so he can stay on the 46-man game day roster.

I did make the effort to include the Lott trophy nomination. I have listened to you when you've spoke about his character so I thought it was only fair to include it. God knows I give out enough flack to those with character concerns. I don't love him as a player but I still like him. Will be firmly behind Jack, Smith, Ragland, Brothers & Martinez in my ILB rankings but I think there's something to work with there.
