  1. Brady is the best QB of all time dude. Are you seriously diminishing his contribution?

Can you not read, I said that the Patriots are a great overall team with or without Brady, of course with Brady they are a SB contender every year, but even without him they could be a contender maybe not a favorite. That's how the Bills should build their team, a great overall roster that can win regardless who is in QB.

  2. Yeah because in your example, it's not like the Pats have the GOAT at QB or anything.

Yea it's not the Pats only win because Brady, team will well built along with Brady. Any other snarky points you got

In fact: Didn't they go 3-1 without Brady, would've been 4-0 if Jimmy G didn't get hurt

  3. Colts went 11-5 for 3 straight seasons.

We pass for 111 yards and score 7 points to start our seasons.

Colts also play in the worst division in the NFL, besides that AFC Championship run 2014, Colts have been playoff fodder to the Pats. The goal should be to build an elite team, I don't subscribe to the notion that you need a great QB for that to happen

  4. Won in Buffalo, Carolina, and Indy. 6 Superbowl appearances. Thats overrated? LMFAO! This might get the prize for most ridiculous thing Ive read in these threads. Was he three time Nfl executive of the year or was it four?

Those Colts teams were massive underachievers, bitched and moaned about the Pats receivers mauling Colts receivers and that's why the illegal contact rule is in place. Polian in Buffalo and Indianapolis never built a defense capable to dominate when his high powered offenses didn't play well. As great as he was in building teams the fact he only has one Super Bowl ring makes him overrated.

  5.

Bill Polian advised Marv Levy to hire Dick Jauron.

That is where the hair brained idea that ushered in the dark ages came from in the first place.

He told Marv that if Dungy weren't available Jauron would have been his hire to replace Jim Mora.

The only thing we need from that washed up bag o' dicks is his luck.

Thank You, been saying for awhile Polian is massive overrated as a GM.

  6. Remind me why a defensive guy can't be good?

I did not say that, but look I rather get an offensive coach with the strength of the team being offense with McCoy, Tyrod, Watkins, Clay to a lesser extent. I feel like anybody at this point would be able to coach the defense better than Rex did here. I just want a new direction with where the team is now, McDermott in my mind, doesn't really do that for me.

  7. I'm not sure he's considered the hot defensive coordinator now, maybe last season when the Panthers made the Super Bowl. He's a seasoned coordinator with a fairly lengthy resume. I'm not sure what type of hire you are looking for. Nobody knows whether someone will succeed or not. He's earned his chance.

I'm not saying he hasn't, I just wished the Pegulas don't fall head over heels over the 1st person they are impressed by. I wished Dave Toub, KC's ST coordinator got an interview because that would've been an outside of the box candidate. I just wanted them to really go in a total different direction after Rex, I guess I'm really not a fan of hiring another defensive guy. I would rather kept Lynn or even thrown the money tank at Saban just to show Bills are serious about being a great franchise idk.

  8. How can you say something like that? What do you base that comment on?

I'm just saying based off what we know about his defense style, we all saw Rex is biggest problem was that he could not adapt to the personnel here in Buffalo. Sounds like he was able to do that in Carolina, but he's going to the Head Coach now, that's a totally and more overarching, demanding position where he won't be focus specifically on the defense. All I'm saying he's just the "hot defensive coordinator" and we have seen how that has played out not just in Buffalo in recent years.

  9. Why do you think that?

For me, I don't see a dynamic presence that will change the atmosphere and culture in the organization or a guy will tremendous football acumen. Those are the traits to me make a potential great HC especially for a franchise that hasn't made the playoffs since 1999. From the outside looking in, this feels like Dick Jauron 3.0, hopefully I'm dead wrong on that, but that's my opinion.

  10. Interviewed in Boca? This organization is a laughingstock! How could Whaley possibly set up and conduct an interview when other people are present?! I bet you they force him to call John Wawrow and say he was in the room when they decided to bench Tyrod.

At least conduct the interviews in Buffalo for coordinators who season's are over and fly out to the city where coordinators on their playoff bye week such as SD and Denver are doing for Dave Toub, KC's ST Coordinator. Team is half-assing another coaching search, 20 years of no playoff is a real possibility if they screw up another coaching search.

  11.

    Great question Dave!

That is exactly what you hope for!

Don't see it that way at all; fair question...instead of trying to type it all out - this is why personally I really like the ST coordinators for HC gigs...

"Arizona Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians is convinced of the same. He is well aware of the daunting challenges that special-teams coaches face on a weekly basis in trying to mix and match personnel for coverage and return units when injuries and roster moves made to address more pressing offensive and defensive needs dictate the players at their disposal. "When you talk about the special-teams guy, hes in front of the entire team," Arians said. "Hes not like a quarterback coach or coordinator who only has half the team. Hes got the entire team and in a very big setting as far as classroom work. "Theyre probably as adept at addressing a football team as anybody.""

Here is why I like Toub and I'm pissed we aren't looking at him...

"Special teams coordinators are often overlooked as head-coaching candidates, but reality is their job is easily as difficult as an offensive or defensive coordinator. On top of that, the special teams coach has to work with players from both sides of the ball every day in practice, teach them specific skills, and coordinate units that have a lot to do with winning or losing in any given game. Special teams coordinators have to game-plan on a weekly basis just as the other coordinators do. Toub has done that very successfully for 13 years. The fact is, year in and year out, Toub's special teams are in the top third in the NFL in every category rated. When looking for a head coach, clubs look for a person who has outstanding motivational and leadership skills, can communicate with both players and management and be able to put together a strong staff. Under Toub's leadership, several of his assistants have gone on to lead coordinator jobs around the league.

Having worked with Toub for eight years I know and understand his ability to prepare and motivate. Those traits are among the best of any coach I have ever worked with and I have worked with some of the best (Parcells, Belichick, Dan Reeves, Tom Coughlin and Ron Rivera). Toub is an excellent evaluator of talent and I doubt you will find a more loyal person anywhere."

Yea, Whaley is already messing this search up by not meeting with Toub during his bye week
