  1.

Clear case of stats don't tell the real story. About 90% of the Bills penalties came at crucial times where as the Pats* penalties came mostly when it didn't matter too much.

I do not think that the timing of the penalties was a coincidence. I think the equal penalty stats was intentional so when people argue that BuF was penalized an unfair amount, the others can say well look NE had alot too... maybe the refs were in NEs pocket.

Not one holding call on NE on 59 dropbacks? Come on. They had 3 rookies on the line... the picked up flag on Tyrods slide... please.

  2. Maybe its paranoia...

But after watching the first half against Miami, the Indy game, and the first drive against NE... I cant help but think NE thought that our offense was way better than they expected and found an illegal way to get an edge, either on offense or on defense. Im also extremely jaded/paranoid/whatever that the NFL is somewhat rigged, and I think our offense looks dangerous as I have ever seen.

  3. I think at one point early in the fourth quarter, it was definitely garbage time. In very uncharacteristic fashion, it was THE PATS who slipped. They kept passing but stopped executing. Even though it was a loss, I think the 3TD rally showed its not the same old bills. The bills of old would indeed have let the pats score another 2-3 TDs.

It stopped being garbage time real quick when they made it two possessions.

  4. Wow... Theres going to be a new invasion of really smart people with an abundance of free time who memorize this thing in a week and start pointing out all the loopholes, and common errors, etc...

Its gonna be like the PGA where people spot penalties and call in hahah I

I love it. Down with football!

Thanks for posting. Based on this, I now understand why Charles Clay was called for a chop block in week 1 (assuming they thought Henderson was the "lure"). However, I do not understand how Julian Edelman's constant "baiting" is not a penalty in accordance with Rule 12, Article 3, Section 1, which states that Unsportsmanlike Conduct includes "Using baiting or taunting acts or words that engender ill will between teams."

I agree 100%. If I was on the field I would argue that any retaliation from an opposing player is NOT the retaliators fault, rather the offender causing the "Ill will".

    (g) Using the ball or any other object including pylons, goal posts, or crossbars, as a prop.

I would extend this to even spiking the ball and Kelce's DK Punch. Is the ball not a prop? I am not entertained.

  5. I mean, I feel like I'm taking crazy pills.

    They've been busted for cheating.

They had to give back draft picks and pay an enormous fine.

Then the same thing happened again.

ESPN.com writes exposes on their cheating.

There is even more to come, per ESPN, on their cheating.

Football is losing it's appeal because either one of 2 things is happening:

In scenario 1, a reject coach from Cleveland, by way of the Jets, turned into a football genius in New England, and with the help of a plucky 6th round draft pick at QB, established the greatest legacy in the history of the game. Other teams got "jealous" of their success, and concocted a Kennedy/Moon Landing.9-11 type conspiracy to at once discredit their league, their leagues premier franchise, and the game itself, all in an attempt to level the playing field, because said qb and said coach are SO UNBEATABLE ON THE FOOTBALL FIELD BECAUSE OF THEIR OTHERWORLDLY SKILLS that the only way to stop them is to come together like voltron and chip away at their legacy with baseless allegations of cheating. Also, their place as statistical outliers in stats like "fewest fumbles by 2 standard deviations since petitioning the league to be in control of footballs in both home and away games and then being punished for deflating footballs illegally" are merely coincidences that can be chalked up to "bad math".

In scenario 2, a reject coach from Cleveland, by way of the Jets, realized that there is no top-down organizational control in the NFL, so anything goes, and he compiled dossiers on every team in a manner that would make the NSA blush, and when that turned into immediate success with no repurcussions, he was emboldened, and analyzed his program from every angle, and cut corners whenever possible to give his team the advantage at every turn--whether legal or not. Everyone is aware that this is happening, but can't pinpoint the exact details, so they go to great lengths to protect themselves, their careers, and their reputations, by taking precautions when playing the Patriots that they take with no other team.

The fact that this happens isn't what is ruining my love of football--having a bad guy is kind of cool.

It's the fact that so many people have their third eye sealed so tightly shut that they literally need to have Bill Beliceck come to their house, f*ck their mother, impregnate her, and then name his illegitimate child "I Bill Beliceck am naming my son Cheater, as a covenant with God that I cheated in professional football, and my titles should be vacated."

Even then, Mr WEO would be rubbing his moms back, telling her that Beliceck has innovated the way dads are going to name babies in the future.

Bill and Tom were perfect pawns in 2001.

  6. See edits please. This forum has more entertainment that the games themselves! You all are great, both sides of the arguement.

Antiquated and underpaid part-time employees. Perfectly susceptible to gamblers. Players cost too much now with their salaries to throw games, but refs would probably do it for a few thousand. There's rumors as many as 9 NFL teams were investigated for being connected with gamblers in the 80's. Sport's dirty little secret. There's a reason no team goes near Vegas, they're terrified of being associated.

Underpaid on paper maybe. Im sure that when the right team wins they get a shoebox full of cash that never hits their 1099/w-2 from the someone at the top.
  7. There shouldnt even be refs anymore. Every play can be reviewed in seconds. Or yellow flags indicate the refs opinion that something on the field should be looked at in detail. It goes to NY for the final, hopefully accurate word. Red coach flags are as they are now. Refs are antiquated.

I support the larger powers at work here. More stuff will surface. Its a matter of time that the nfl puppet show for the last 15 years will be exposed.

Think to 2001. A 6th round pick given a chance to lead the show by a billionaire? A coach on his last head coaching stint willing to do anything to win? A big name consumer product owner with buys into a high wealth market in an area hungry for a successful sports team? It makes too much sense. Why would any of them bite the hand that fed them. Bill and brady would do anything to protect kraft and NE and stay on top.

After it seemed to hit the fan for NE this summer i thought it would be more... normal? But now it just looks more scripted than ever. Buf claws back in, pick on first play to tie... come on NFL, you used that script with fitz and ej already...

  8. Sal was interviewed on WEEI this morning. I thought he did a nice job. They laughed at him when he got off the air. Boston media doesn't even bother doing their homework on us. When we make Tommy cry on Sunday they will just blame it on the offensive line or make some other excuses, like the refs/league are out to get them.

I listed to the interview then had to go into the office. What were they laughing at that Sal had said? His answers were good, he wasn't an over the top homer or anything. Callahan, Dennis, and Kirk are all friggen Dbags, and are just bitter their show dropped off a cliff after the Sportshub came around.

  9. Jeez I check TBD before bed on the night before christmas and this is what I read??

Very sad stuff. I hope that individual can find peace wherever he/she may be. And may this event not be a distraction for the players. They still have a job to do.

    Again, may that soul RIP.

  10. gronk will catch 40 touchdowns. Seriously.

That same bullshtt "us against the world" and "we'll use our cheating as motivation" that they had last time they got caught, when they threw for 199 touchdowns and 45,500 yards or whatever.

God, I wish I had Gronk in my fantasy league. They are going to force it to him all year.

I hate gronk but he looks unstoppable. The only people who could cover gronk are jj watt and lebron james.

  11. There's jawing then there is just being stupid...running over to jaw at someone after every 6 yard catch is a bit much.

I agree with this and this goes for every team. I dont mind talking some s*** to the opposition. But getting up after every. single. tackle. NOT IN MY HOUSE. You can basically count on every incomplete pass, a D back waiving his finger and a receiver with his hands up asking for a flag. Does anybody just go right back to the huddle anymore?

My number 1 transgression isn't even on the players. Its on the broadcast team. After touchdown or something, when the network cuts to commercial, they often play slow-mo clip of the CELEBRATION. WTF? Show the touchdown again you morons, not the jumping high-five.

The league is 50% football, 50% theatrics, and all I really care about is football.
