We need to forget about ever getting a free play on an Offside.

That has ended drives and cost us a premium play in the Red Zone the other night too.

They are just not calling those anymore.

Unless your name is Aaron Rodgers

Tom Brady's team wins with a very unblanced attack for decades.  Derrick Henry's team wins with an unbalanced attack.  Steelers killer bee glory years had a very balanced attack.   Winning and losing is not about over all scheme.  Its about being good at what you are trying to do.  I have never seen a worse team at establishing any sort of rhythm on offense.  This is because we are poorly coached in blocking schemes, have mostly poor play design and absurdly random play calling.

I don't understand why they don't go to a no-huddle offense on occasion.  Someone mentioned this in another thread, and I agree, that it would help the offense establish a rhythm and also keep the opposing defenses off balance.

I agree.  The throw was to Davis, but was rushed because Allen had a guy in his face.  The ball would have been behind Davis, even if the DB didn't get a hand on it.  If Allen had time, the throw would have had a chance.  That said, it was 4th and 14, so the defense knew we were throwing the ball and brought pressure.  And why was it 4th and 14?  A wasted run into the line on 1st down that hadn't worked all game (and never works) and a stupid penalty.

Those two sentences perfectly summarize the Bills' 2021 season.

    Two quick comments:

First, it was having the weapon of Thurman Thomas that made the no huddle work, not Kelly.

Second: I’m pretty sure Josh has the ability to change any play at the line of scrimmage. Remember, back in Kelly’s era they didn’t have speakers in the helmet so Jim was on his own out there.

    Thurman and McKeller.

There actually were.  I have a good friend who's a Pats fan and a totally decent guy even while watching Pats football.

But he's my age, started his fandom in the Dark Days of the late 60s, and lived through the '80s and early '90s when they were the Patsies and a perennially bad team.

We have a Pats fan on this forum who can comment knowledgeably about on Tony Eason.

    So they do exist.

***** that ***** ***** let them leak.  Let them flood.

It's true, I married one...  Her favorite player other than Brady is Steve Grogan.

This is true. I think both the coaches and players need a reset. I guess I wish McD was more like Belichick. He would never allow various nonsense at practice. He'd probably give you serious stink eye if you chose not to get vaccinated. He doesn't tolerate penalties ever. Do your job, be prepared for every opponent or you're gone. These guys heads got too big. #1 D...#1 Offense....SB Favorites...MVP QB....on and on. This entire organization needs a reset and reevaluation of what's expected of them.

Can't stand the man or the team he coaches, however this is an interesting read...  https://www.brownsnation.com/what-went-wrong-for-bill-belichick-in-cleveland/

Agree, I am listening right now, and it's mostly this message - the 2021 Bills haven't been physical enough, disciplined enough.

It feels like McDermott is going to take the reigns more on offense and he's going to make a concerted effort to run more.

But was this Press Conference any different than the usual? Not really, nothing specific. There is nowhere to turn on the offensive line personnel, and I don't think Gilliam can provide anything as a fullback, so I expect it to look pretty ineffective actually.

Completely agree with this takeaway from the PC.  The man was a national champion wrestler in high school.  You don't think he is emphasizing that each player must win their one-on-one battles ("do your job" in Pats*** speak)?

I think every elite team has been absolutely crippled by bad pass blocking at times this year…josh seems to handle it better than most if not all. Every team’s fans are probably saying the same thing as you right now lol

No running game, at least one that makes the opposing defenses respect the run.  Beane to Dabol:  you realize we gave Josh a $200 million contract, right?

Looks like he always got up for bledsoe. many multiple sack games

Imagine how many more times he would have sacked Bledsoe if Bruce Armstrong wasn't playing.  I believe Bruce (Smith) is on record saying Armstrong was the best offensive lineman he ever played against.  They had some great battles.

I feel like they appreciate being treated like normal people.

Good example: My cousin saw McKenzie out getting food and just gave him the nod instead of blowing up his spot, which he said it looked like McKenzie appreciated.

Bad example: My ex was super loud saying hi and hugged Tyrod in line for sushi, and although he was as nice as you would expect Tyrod to be, he probably did not appreciate all the other customers there being alerted to his presence.

^ this.  My friends and I used to see Kelly and his entourage (brother and others) occasionally at Rappls in OP back in the day.  Jeff Wright was there a few times also with Isiah Robertson if I remember correctly.  Just gave them the nod and went about our business, which they seemed to appreciate.

I think the trade that brought Jerry Hughes here is one of the best in Bills' history.  That said, if I never have to hear any version of the following "While he wasn't able to get to the QB, Jerry Hughes had plenty of pressures" again I'll die a happy man.     The guy has made 2.5 million dollars a sack the last 3 years.

Hughes is blatantly held on almost every pass play.

Haha yea he missed that one...the decision was fine both those defenders were beat and he just has to get it almost anywhere out in front of sanders but he underthrew it

Allen didn't underthrow Sanders, he intentionally threw it short to avoid overthrowing him and to attempt to secure the long gain.  😎
