  1. "In six red-zone runs Sunday, Fred Jackson gained zero yards. Re-watching each play, the culprits were breakdowns across the offensive line. The first four runs were out of the shotgun with a zone-read element.

Not properly replacing Levitre is still haunting this team.

This just in, the Fish run D is pretty good. It may be the best run D we face all year. I'm not quite ready to throw the panic switch on the running game and the O-line as a whole. We manhandled Chicago, but it's clear now that Fish > Bears when it comes to run D. The last point about Levitre is spot on. OBD did not even make an offer to the man. He was clearly one of the best LGs in the league, but we cheaped out. Complain all you want about Williams, but for a few dollars more, we could have locked up Levitre. But we like to eat our young here on TSW. Levitre was ridiculed and ripped here, and now we have Williams, after Brown, Legursky, et al. How does that taste TSW? Not too good. Be careful what you wish for.

  2. Are you kidding me??? Was JP Losman or Rob Johnson not available??

What an uninspiring choice. Lee Evans was the exact type of player the Whaley/Marrone regime has purged from the current roster. No leadership skills, no intensity, no winning attitude. What a drop off from Andre Reed last week.

It's disappointing that many in this thread denigrate Lee Evans. He was a great receiver stuck on a bad team with bad quarterbacking. Unfortunately, his final two seasons in Buffalo and Baltimore were below par, but he still put up some very impressive numbers.

Career stats for Lee Evans, Jerry Rice, and Andre Reed, catches, yds, avg, TD's, TD%

    Evans 381 6008 15.8 83 11%

    Rice 1549 22895 14.8 197 13%

    Reed 951 13198 13.9 87 9%

As you can see, Lee had a higher YPC in 9 seasons than 2 HOF'ers, with a comparable TD%. Not his fault we had JP, Trentative, and Kelly Holcomb throwing the rock (was Shane Matthews in there?). Lee Evans deserves better from us as Bills fans.

  3. I think this will be a close game. The WV's will sell out to stop the run on D and make EJ beat them. Frank will add some wrinkles to the WV offense and let Rivers throw the rock all over the lot. We stop their running game, and EJ has to hit a few receivers not named Sammy Watkins Jr. (I WANT THE CAVEMAN!!). WV's up 20-19 with time running out, Bills driving to WV 29. :08 seconds on the clock, Dan Carpenter lines up for the 47-yarder, and this time it's GOOD!! Bills 22 - WV's 20.

  4. How many jocks do I get??? I was cheering really, REALLY loud!

Come to think of it, I blew it on the 12th man. They should have gotten at least 3, maybe 4 jocks. The only time they weren't a factor was after halftime, where they were all still grabbing a hot dog and taking a @#$ in the newly refurbished johns. The rest of the time, Tannehill was melting down under the pressure.

  5. Excerpt from article...

"Working under Reich, Rivers completed a team-record and NFL-leading 69.5 pct. of his passes last season (378 of 544) for 4,478 yards (third-highest of his career) with 32 touchdowns (second-most of his career) and just 11 interceptions for a career and team-record-tying passer rating of 105.5"

11 interceptions last yr. Not too shabby.

Frank's return to the Ralph will be epic. Will the sideliners be lobbing D-cells and obscenities his way? (I kid, it's Frank, not Brian Cox) He was probably the smartest QB to ever come through OBD. I hope Schwartz can out-duel him because Frank Reich is a scary dude when it comes to the X's and O's. Can't wait for this matchup.

  6. We??? Martin was on the sideline with an injury... Was declared "Out" prior to kickoff

    Couple notes...

1.) I was unaware that FredEx used so many jock straps in a single game... Nice little nugget

2.) CJ's 102 yard return only scored 6 points... It was Dan's leg that put that 7th point on the board...

Can we start issuing "Maybin awards"? The ones that make people INVISIBLE on the message board??

I would like to nominate Tampon Boob

This. Peein' my pants here Cletus, nice job.

The score was 9-3 when CJ returned the kickoff.Game wasn't over Miami came down, scored and made it 16-10. Watkins scored when it was 16-10.Also I like Woods but, 1 catch for 5 yards and one hit equals 3 jocks and EJ only gets two?

You are correct on the score sir, my error, I will correct it in the original. Woods had the biggest hit of the game, and I neglected to mention his PD on the possible INT, so I stand by my three jocks. EJ only got two because points were left on the field. I like his progress though, more jocks to come for him.

I promise to take better game notes in the future. Thanks for playing!

  7. I don't know why, I just like Seantrel. What could he have done more, to get the top jackstrap rating. A rookie 7th round pick, in game 2 of his career, who shut down last week's best player in the league, and a last season all-pro.

What more is there, did he need to break Wake's leg to get the nudge up?

It's a good take zazie. I like Seantrel as well, but here's my reasoning. If the running game had been better all day, he would have had 5 jockstraps. Before CJ's 47-yard run, they averaged just over 2 YPC. With the 47-yard run, 3.4 YPC. We need a little bit better from the run game. That put him just a tad below CJ, Corey, and Sammy.

  8. What was your favorite hit against the fish yesterday? My top 3 are:

    1. Searcy tackle of tannehill on 4th down

    2. Robey hit on Moreno

    3. Woods great special teams tackle in 3rd quarter. I was surprised that great tackle was made by him.

My vote is Woods. He was full speed when he made contact.

Thoughts? Other hits that come to mind?

Woods hit gets my vote for 1st, Nigel gets 2nd. Jarvis Landry did not know what hit him and got up V-E-R-Y S-L-O-W-L-Y. Woods jackknifed him like a tractor-trailer.

  9. Dude, you need to brush up on your Anchorman references. "Sahn Diahgo, which of course in German means, a whale's vagina."

Whale's Vagina? This is more than my little mind can comprehend. What is this team?

I see you don't speak German.

  10. Glad I could inspire you to create a ridiculous name and post to a message board. I don't quite understand. Are you trying to measure my jock strap or are you trying to measure fred's or are you trying to get me to want to measure fred's? There is a lot of talk about stiffies and jock straps in this thread. It is starting to get confusing.

As much as you hate Freddy, I like him that much more. The reference is to "being on a guy's jock", or in other words, a rabid fan. Yes, I am an unabashed Fanboy with a serious mancrush on Fred Jackson. Third best Bills running back ever. Hard to dislodge Thurman and he who shall not be named, but who knows? Fred's far from done.

  11. I am having flashbacks of the season we last beat San Diego at home....we were like 5-1 at that point and we won 1 game the rest of the way...Although I think we have tons more talent this year than we did then!

This also flashed in my head. I remember Trentative's performance in the SanDiego game to make us 5-1 (this was after he was concussed by AZ), and we all thought we had the successor to JK and the Bills QB for the next decade. Oops. I hope this game is not vuja de for the Bills.

  12. We all know that the Giants are in a rebuilding mode and there really short of offensive talent

out side of Victor Cruz. If you were the Bills GM

would you make this trade so the Bills could make a run at the Super Bowl this year.

Bills would trade C.J Spiller and E.J. Manuel

for Manning. Bryce Brown and Fred Jackson

could handle the running back duties.

Make that trade if you want to destroy the locker room. No thanks. We're building something here. This Jenga move would bring it all down.

  13. As big a Moorman fan as I am, it was time. Powell was a HUGE mistake, but Colton Schmidt is a great find. Kudos to DW for recognizing that a punter who lost to perennial AllPro Andy Lee in San Fran might be pretty good. Dude is nails on dropping punts inside the 20. We will see how he fares in the swirling winter winds. Hopefully he'll be kicking inside the Ralph during the week and not just inside the barn. Figuring out the winds in the Ralph is key to being either Rick Tuten (bad), or Chris Mohr (2nd best after Moorman).

  14. XTC has been disappointing, what with not playing all that well his first two years and the 1-game suspension last week. But dude was a terror today, all over the field. Spikes was quiet, but tied things up. Preston Brown rebounded from a tough game last week, but he's still a rook, so plenty of upside there. Adding Kiko to this group will give us probably the best LB's in the NFL outside of San Fran.

  15. Marrone is finally establishing an identity worthy of the Bills blue-collar heritage. We beat up Chicago, we beat up Miami, and now we're going to beat up Whale's Vagina. Pound the rock, stop the run, and beat the crap out of anybody with the ball. The other team's quarterback must go down, and he must go down hard. Still not a big fan of Marrone, but dude is seriously old school physical.
