  1. I was wondering if the Bills really intend to play Kiko Alonso this season. Is part of the reason they have not IR'd him because some other team could claim him during the season and put him on their active roster once he is ok to play? Or, is there a rule that states an opposing team cannot do something so shady?

Other teams can claim players off IR?

  2. Bills 24 Fish 17 Bills not getting much respect from the "experts". I thought the Bills put pretty good pressure on Cutler rushing 4 guys. Need to contain Moreno and get Freddy et al running.

They did. Especially on third down when Schwartz spread then out on the line.

Miami's DTs looked as good as ours against NE, but I know that's not reality. NE's interior O-line was hurting without Mankins.

  3.

He played well coming off the injury last year?? must have been watching a different team then b/c he was a liability out there when he had the club on. he's discounted b/c he was the 10th overall pick and he doesnt make plays. gamechangers come off the board in the top 10...he isnt one. this game isnt about technique and closing speed, its about making plays that change the game. and how do you know he has better technique? because the guys on WGR say so? and how do you determine closing speed? cuz im pretty sure mckelvin is right on par speed wise.

What has this guy done to earn this respect? intercept an underthrown pass from mike glennon last year? he must look great in practice b/c hes average at best in games.

did you not watch the rookie kelvin benjamin and markus wheaton smoke him in the little action he played this preseason?

    He had a club on...

Closing speed is about reaction time and short burst. If you look up their combine numbers, you'll see Gilmore actually has a faster 10 yard split.

I know Gilmore has better technique because I watch the game. He has better positioning and is more effective with his hands. He has a stronger upper body and fluid hips.

All the best corners get beat by the best WRs. This league favors the passing game. It is what it is.

Gilmore's the closest thing to a shut-down corner that we have. That's why the coaches are more confident with putting him on an island with no safety help.

  4. If Gilmore even plays.....has he ever shut down anyone? NO. so if it happens it'll be a first. and wallace isnt half the player marshall and jeffery are..

Gilmore played great after coming off the injury last year.

I don't know why some people want to discount him. He's a good corner.

Better technique and better closing speed than McKelvin and Graham.

  5. Graham and Kyle Williams had the INT's, McKelvin had a forced fumble and had a pass bounce off his chest (no INT).

It seems McKelvin played better under Pettine. IMO, he's regressed significantly from last season.

Neither of them forced the INT and neither did McKelvin on his almost-INT. All had great coverage, though.

I agree that McKelvin's "resurrection" last year was largely due to the system and game planning.

McKelvin vs Graham is a wash for me.

Looking forward to seeing Gilmore shut down Wallace this Sunday.

  6. I'm sure it had nothing to do with McKelvin covering Brandon Marshall while Jeffery left injured fairly early in the game...

Graham and Searcy would've gotten beat deep by Bennett had it not been for Dareus forcing Cutler to throw the ball early, resulting in the INT.

I think if we could actually watch the tape, Graham wouldn't look any better than McKelvin, maybe worse.

  7. maybe, but Revis was off the field for awhile dealing with cramping.

That's not the weather's fault. My point is that the Miami summer heat is not an insurmountable foe. It shouldn't take anyone by surprise. Plenty of northern teams go down there and beat up on those Florida teams. Revis, Wilfork, and all of them have experience in it. Miami beat them up, so they're making excuses.

  8.

It's all what you're used to. If you're used to playing in cold, cold shouldn't bother you. If you're used to heat, heat shouldn't bother you. But once you lose your acclimatization, being from that area doesn't protect you. Lots of Bay Area wimps who hail from Nebraska and put on a down parka when it's 56 degrees now. Lots of Southern guys and gals who head for A/C when it's 88

    You guys are crazy.

We're talking about professional athletes here.

Summers in New England are hot and humid at low altitude. Going down to play in Miami after spending summer training camp in NE is not a big deal, especially for a pro athlete.

    It's just an excuse.

  9. RIP.

I guess he is number 3?

    3?

So far, big ones have been Robin Williams, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Shirley Temple, Mickey Rooney, Joan Rivers, Lauren Bacall...

Harold Remis, Maya Angelou, Casey Kasem of America's Top 40!

people are dying all around us.

  10. Still think this match-up is even better than Chicago because the Phins are more one-dimensional.

They have less skill players to worry about.

NE was kind of unlucky to get the Phins first, because they had no film with Moreno in this system to game plan with.

It'll be less of a surprise for Buffalo. Plus, our defense has focused on stopping the run and we get Bradham back this week.

I don't understand this logic, 5 of the Patriots front 7 played college ball in the south, in fact both DTs and all 3 LBs. Why would they all of the sudden have issues with playing in the heat? They all seemed to do just fine playing in the heat in college. Wilfork, Mayo, Collins, Hightower, Easley all excelled in playing in the heat. Now they're vulnerable to it? Players having trouble in snow I get, but a player who has trouble playing in 90 degree weather makes no sense unless that player doesn't know how to hydrate.

    Truth.

    It's just an excuse.

  11. I wonder if they got that idea from Top Gear (UK)

whenever they would paint words or names on their cars, the words always changed when they opened a car or van door,

    Great show.

    The British version.

  12. With all these insanely high breathalyzer numbers... HOW in the eff is anybody walking let alone driving? .413? Huh? Are these thinks calibrated properly? Like the BP spill, did they not go with a Duracell battery. WTF? Or are we just evolving higher tolerances to alcohol? LoL... Shouldn't she be passed out w/that much juice coursing through her blood.

Something's gotta be wrong with the numbers? Kinda like when the nurse takes my blood pressure and it is through the roof... But, the doc comes in and it is normal... I have been told that mine is really hard to "hear." LoL... If that is true?

Probably not only alcohol running through her veins. Could've been high on something else at the same time.

  13. They stuck a bunch of idiots on a ranch in southern California.

They should've dropped some real survivalists into the Amazon. You'd have a more serious show, but probably a more interesting outcome.
