Looking back at this thread I started April 4th...anyone feel differently now that Beane has shown he and the team have a lot of confidence in Shakir given we didn't make a major splash move up in draft and only drafted 1 WR overall?  What about seeing him working out with Moulds again this off-season?

I can't wait to sse this offense on the field personally...

Do we look at this as confidence in Shakir or Kincaid? Or Both? I'm not sure how much playing time Shakir gets if Brady ends up using two TE sets a lot, which they should definitely do.

  2. It's like when a person is transitioning. They're making changes and trying to look like someone else. They'll eventually complete the transition and look the way they want, but there's always that period where they look super weird and you're not sure exactly where it's going.

    Have faith.

  3. It's going to be really interesting to see how Brady uses the TEs. Either he utilizes a lot of two TE sets or else Dawson Knox is not going to see much playing time.

Based on his history, Brady will want to use 1 TE (Kincaid) with Coleman and Samuel on the outside and Shakir in the slot.

But using Knox on the end and Kincaid in the slot I think makes more sense if they want to be a dominant running team.

Just keep it simple and out-execute the other team.

Samuel. I reckon if he stays healthy he ends up around 1,000 maybe just short of it. I have something like:

    Samuel 925

    Kincaid 850

    Shakir 800

Coleman 650 (but leads us in touchdowns)

    Knox 400

    Cook 350

That gets you to 3,975. Then you have you bits and pieces guys contributing another 300-500 between them.... running back 2, Morris, Hollins whoever else is a depth receiver.

Seems generous for Knox. He was barely a part of the passing game last year. 186 total yards in 12 games.

  5. McDermott always preaches "complimentary football." That's the team's philosophy. We're reminded of this philosophy all the time.

Why would they let their OC have major influence? He's their 3rd in 4 years. Under McDermott it's written in stone that we'll have to hire a new OC every 2-3 years because the current one will always eventually be fired or hired away as a head coach. And it's not like McDermott is dictating the long-term offensive philosophy beyond a vague oversight. So any time we add players to the offense it won't be with any particular system in mind. They're going to throw a bunch of low investment guys at the coach and tell him and Allen to figure it out.

A lot of fans have seemingly convinced themselves that small ball, ball control offense has been the plan all along. I don't think that's true at all. I think the personnel investments have forced that to be the only valid offensive philosophy we can use this year. Is it what Brady wants? The guy that coached an LSU offense featuring Ja'Marr Chase and Justin Jefferson? Color me skeptical. But it's the offense he'll get and he'll like it, or else we'll cycle on through to the next offensive coach getting their feet wet.

Brady coached Curtis Samuel to his best statistical year. You don't think Brady had influence in getting Samuel?

I woulda rather ran our RB room back with Cook/Ty Johnson and using that 4th rd pick on another WR.   As it is it seems like we're putting an awful lot of stock into Coleman devolping into a #1 receiver this season and Shakir into a number 2.  Id like a little more insurance than that.

Coleman is 2a and Shakir is 2b to their #1 Kincaid.

As I said, there's room to criticize McBeane for getting into the situation they were in, but they certainly seem to have navigated the situation quite nicely.

Every team gets to that position, though. It's the nature of the league and the cap. The Chiefs were in that position too, but still maintained their championship calibre because, like you said, coaching and 5-star QB plus other legit talent. Beane for sure saw it coming and it's his job to know how to navigate it. He executed his plan and we'll see how it goes.

I think many are just happy to be relevent and entertained.

All fans want their team to be champions. However, most don't need it in order to feel personally fulfilled.

You're not involved with the team. Their failures are not your failures, just as their accomplishments are not your accomplishments.

That's the weird dynamic with fandom that some people get hung up on and it affects their emotions to an unhealthy degree.

I've watched Florida go from a nice place to live to a hellscape of rejects from other states and other countries in the span of my lifetime....its gotten especially bad over the last 20 years. Add to that the fact that Global Warming has turned the state into a Hurricane magnet over the last 8 years, I don't know why anyone would want to move down here at this point.

We used to have a weather man down here when I was a kid who used to say on the air jokingly: "Welcome to Florida, no go back home!" I wish more people would have listened to him!😀

Every time I've been to Florida I've loved it, to be completely honest. But I was in the panhandle area 3 of those times (military TDYs) and Disney World once. Never during hurricane season.

Pretty sure that’s not gonna happen. But they are getting significantly more for their money. They are also getting parks and congregating areas included. Look like they are creating an outdoor space that would put the Buffalo Harbor area to shame included in the deal. Looked like lots of public parks and ball parks for the public as well.

3rd largest city in the country vs....78th. Go ahead and compare all the other entertainment areas and public spaces between these two cities while you're at it. 😬

Here is the scale model of the seating. You can see how steep it is in the upper levels.

Also shows how the roof covers a larger portion of seats than the renderings imply.

The 100 level seats appear to be the worst in the stadium in my opinion.

It's a great design. That place is gonna be rockin on Sundays.

The team went on like a six game winning streak when we "phased out" Diggs and Davis from the game plan. The offense was hardly abysmal. The offense was different, more running game and ball control but they won games. And that included scoring 27.5 ppg in the playoffs which was higher than their regular season average.

Yep. Kincaid and Cook each had 80+ yards in both playoff games. In 2023, with the offense running through those two, that'll be closer to the average per game for them. I think Cook hovering around 100 all purpose yards each week and Kincaid averaging 65 yards. The rest of the skill players varying to a higher degree based on matchups.

Now that we're moving onto a new era of bills and core players seeing some turnover, what was your fav moment of the last 4 years?

For me it was destroying NE in the playoffs and the Micah Hyde pick in the almost end zone - listen to the Patriots radio broadcast for that game of you ever find it if you want a laugh.

Maybe we didn't win a SB but demolishing them was fun!

That's what I was thinking too, honestly.

Next would be beating Baltimore in '21 ending in the Taron Johnson 101 yard pick 6. Held them to just 3 points.

Kincaid will lead in targets for sure I think. Excited to see him in year 2.

They used him all over the field last year. He's the guy they're going to use to create mismatches.

Shakir all the way imo.  We got a taste of his true abilities last year.  To be honest I think we will see 3 wr's over 700 yards and at least 1 TE over 700 yards.

This offense is not old school.  Its going to be production by committee.  We have too many weapons with too many unique talents to stop.

Everyone wanted big flashy WRs, without realizing this offense moving forward is designed to never be stopped no matter who we play.  We are not a 1 trick pony.  We got great ground game, seam game, deep game, slot game.  Pick your poison.

Im super pumped for this year.

I only disagree with the deep game. Who's the deep game?

Sure, they can stretch the field in a traditional sense. I just don't see it being a lethal part of their game.

Man , this debate brings back memories of the whole Stevie Johnson..is he a TRUE #1 receiver or just the guy with the most targets debate from years ago😂

He was Darrelle Revis's worst nightmare. I think that tells you all you need to know bout that.
