Great Josh was back yesterday.
Completion percentage in the 70s, interception rate in the zeros (😜). Eye test tells us he was decisive and pulled the trigger quicker.
And, Dime DROPPING!!!! He threw 4
beautiful long balls. Two ended up as touchdown. One to Diggs was broken up by a perfectly timed high point tip by the DB. The other to Kincaid (?) in the front corner of the end zone was thrown from the other side of the field, under pressure, and was also broken up by a great DB play. But, those two breakups were still great throws. Not over or under but right where they needed to be.
Josh also played no hero ball to my eye. He took a few sacks that were advisable while protecting the ball. These were positive plays and I said so in the moment. He didn’t throw a single pass I saw that looked like a bad or forced decision.
Add in the legs and the second longest QB rushing TD in playoff history and opponents have to keep a spy in which opens up the backside passing a bit more.
The whole team seemed to respond to him and the situation as well.
I include Brady in this as he seemed to have dialed up a plan that specifically targeted the Steelers for those early TDs ( and the missed one to Diggs)
Defensive injuries are what they are at this point. But, if we are going to be underperforming on that side of the ball, 2021 Playoff Josh is exactly who we need.
His ball placement on all throws outside of a couple were exceptional. Only ones I can think of that were off were the out route to Diggs, dump off to Johnson over the middle (too high), and the Isabella screen that was missed.

Will feel a lot better when we know what is or isn't up with Taron.
Agree. Rasul and Taron are the most important players by far on the injury report. If we have those two playing I’d feel a lot better about our chances. If not, it’s gonna be a long game for the defense.

Sure is as long as the swelling isn’t bad

I think that the NFL has decided that they're going to protect quarterbacks at all costs, and it results in all sorts of ticky-tack, namby pamby, horsecrap calls that are offensive to the viewer. I think that star quarterbacks ESPECIALLY benefit from this treatment.
I agree with what you say, but as long as you always keep in mind what I just said, you'll have an easier time understanding/accepting the ridiculous calls that get made on a weekly basis.I mean Rudolph also got a roughing the passer call that was “weaker” than this one on josh.

He was terrible today. Almost missed an xp. Had the 49 yarder blocked because of low trajectory. And that 27 yarder was embarrassing. Don't blame the field. Steelers kicker was perfect. Bass's days are numbered.
Well right now Bass's mind is on fishing
I was at the game. The 27 yarder looked like it was maybe 6-7 feet off the ground when it went past the line of scrimmage. The only reason it wasn’t blocked was because it was so off centerline there was no one there to reach up. Awful awful game on his end. He has the yips and I don’t know if McD just wants to roll with him or bring in someone else who’s just as bad. But it isn’t an easy call for coach. -

Because bass had low trajectory on three kicks prior to that point. He was not hitting it well today.
He hasn’t been hitting it well all year. I honestly think we need to sign a new kicker or at least bring one in for tryouts. Or maybe just accept the fact our kicker has the yips and go for it on 4th down more.

How good would this defense be if benford, white and milano were out there ?
I’m at game. What happened to Benford?

Do they keep Dak after that pick 6?
I think you need to unload Dak too. Just can’t win when it matters

Well McCarthy will be fired if they get blown out

For those of us not in Buffalo, how bad is the weather now, and how much better will the weather be tomorrow at 4:30??
Weather is bad in east aurora. Visibility is like 1/16th of a mile. High winds and blowing snow. Not a whole lot of accumulation at this point though. Maybe like 8”

I suspect Tuesday is in play for travel (Steelers) and field hardness reasons.
Looks like the Steelers plane just took off. Also, weather should be doable for them to land

tomorrow will be better...colder but less wind and snow....as far as I know
I hope so. Kinda wish the game was at 1 vice 430

Do you think at a certain point the nfl says to the bills you have to play in another stadium since weather isn’t improving?

The real question is how many cringey F bombs is McDaniel going to have drop on hard knocks to try to make himself feel tough after coaching this charmin team
The secondary for the dolphins is soft. They completely whiffed on several tackles (intentionally) after what they did last week. No interest in tackling. I’d cut those fools because you will never be a winner with a defensive player not willing to tackle

Hmm…
Lets think this through.
Today is Saturday.
You happen to seethe post above yours?Yeah I saw that. I meant play it today at 1pm right before all this stuff started to become a factor. Cause now it’s gonna drag on and potentially affect the follow on week pretty drastically

The snow % for Monday went way up in the past 24 hours. The winds look better at 10-20mph and hopefully no whiteout conditions. Just a real wintry week ahead, looks like a few inches of snow nearly every day.
If they were gonna shift the game, they should have moved it up to Saturday. I have no idea why you wouldn’t want the game to be played before the system rolls in. Not while it’s in and hope it pans out

But they don't know if the Steelers or Bills will win tonight though. They won't find that out until Monday. They will have extra rest but they won't know who exactly to prepare for until Monday night
Maybe Rasul Douglas will be more likely to play now? Same with Dodson?

I wonder how the shovelers plan to get there …
What’s the expectations for shovelers? Could you just show up, say you’re a shoveler and not do much and score a free ticket?

TMRW (Tomorrow app) shows 6" snow Saturday and 5" Sunday with 22mph wind Sunday. Not ideal but hopefully they can clear the Saturday snow from the stands and field so all we are dealing with is Sunday's weather.
Are there worse forecasts out there?
Is that 6” throughout the day or later in the day happening?

I hope there's a snowstorm. The best thing the Pittsburgh offense has done in recent weeks is launch the ball deep to Pickens. Snowy windy weather removes that factor. Allen can still throw the ball, Rudolph really can't. I don't understand why so many Bills fans are more anxious about the game. For my money this gives us a bigger advantage.
Or hopefully Poyer or Hyde bait him and make some glorious INTs like they did against Mac 2 years ago

I agree fans will blame the weather. But the fact is, if the Bills lose, it will be because Pittsburgh made more plays. Just like with the New England wind game, if the Bills could stop the run in that game, they would have won. As it is, they could not and lost.I think it also hurt us that we refused to pass in the first half of that game. When we finally had to pass in the second half we found we could do it pretty well regardless if the wind. I think we would have won that game if we just decided to pass all game until we were proven we couldn’t in those conditions

Monday would be better. It’s a holiday and many people are off work.
I mean who cares if it’s a holiday. Shouldn’t the goal be to play before all the snow?

What we cannot allow is for the Steelers to control the clock with their ground game. We also can’t allow the big play to George Pickens for a TD (or any WR for that matter).
Our offense has to produce this game to get the Steelers out of their game plan. If we can take a 2 TD lead or so, I will feel pretty comfortable with the way our defense has been playing. Although to its the bills we are talking about, so I’ll probably never be comfortable with any lead

AFC Special Teams Player of the month. I guess he needs to be Special Teams Player of the year to satisfy you.
I mean this post was written after the chiefs game based on a trend of the entire season at that point in time. Of course Sam Martin had played well the last four games. I’ll admit it. But he was bad for the first 13 games of the season outside of the first Miami matchup.
And Bass is another matter. I feel like McD does not have confidence in him at all and that scares me. Bass has also had a pretty poor season not just by his standards, but all kicker standards.
I think you need to understand the context of when items are written.

For me I feel as though we really have to keep Mahomes in the pocket. If he scrambles and keeps drives alive with his feet, it is so demoralizing. What that results in are players cheating a little to stop him from scrambling and end up giving him big passing lanes for chunk yardage. D line has to be disciplined in their rush lanes and offense needs to really step up and keep as much pressure off our battered defense as possible
Oh, and Bass can’t be a$$ like he was last weekend.
