  1. This feels like desperation. Just grabbing guys hoping for a miracle.
  2. The flutter ball thing was amusing to me but the MPH is a huge red flag. If I wanted to draft him I would look into it to verify the top speed. Just like a WR can be sick and not run well at the combine.
  3. Someone told me that Watson throws a flutter ball, not a good spiral a few weeks ago. I thought it odd but seeing the MPH validates that.
  4. Making the throw and making it with the same speed as a top NFL QB is the issue. You can draft a baseball pitcher who can "make the throw" to home plate but you might not want to if he throws it at 72 mph.
  5. Whaley doesn't do that bad with first round picks as far as finding guys that can play. He also is good at finding blue light specials for the bottom of the roster. My issue with Doug is who is in charge? What is the vision for the Bills? Is it the coach driving the ideas? First Rex and now McDermott? When are we getting a QB? Has any team neglected the position more than Buffalo? Where are guys drafted later in the draft that can play football or even provide depth? Why does Doug go into a season like last year with no WRs or Safeties?
  6. People don't seem to understand this at all. How hard a QB throws is not the only component needed to play QB at the NFL. But throwing the ball under 55 is like a WR running a 4.7. It's a huge red flag and needs to be looked at.
  7. No reason not to draft Kelly with a late round pick. This team is so boring we need something to watch.
  8. Who really knows? But my cousin went to Michigan and watched every Tom Brady college game and said he was not the same player at all. Very strange how a guy gets an arm AFTER getting drafted. Doesn't happen anywhere else.
  9. Says the guy with the TT avatar.
  10. Velocity and arm strength are just one component. But looking back at the last 5 drafts I don't see one success from a QB in the NFL with a velocity under 55 mph.
  11. Watson throws a flutter ball. When you can't throw a tight spiral in the NFL you have a high chance at failure.
  12. And you want to draft a QB that can't throw a spiral.
  13. It's for nerds. But briefly Mahomes throws with incredible accuracy and anticipation. He manipulates safeties and defenders and will scare the hell out of people expecting a certain look. Highest upside QB in the last few years if he works out.
  14. It's not the only thing to look at. But if you look at the numbers almost no QB in the NFL has been good that was below 55.
  15. For those who want to see some of the subtle things Mahomes brings this is a great video from Waldman and Schofield.
  16. I mentioned this on the Shoutbox but my scouting friend told me that Watson threw a flutter ball, not a tight spiral. But if you read online scouting "reports" they say the opposite. One scout at the combine said Mahomes had the best arm since Favre.
  17. Yes. I think of athletic genius. He is throwing the ball in ways that shouldn't be allowed. And he is creating his own rule book. I think of how Hasek didn't have the "correct" form because he was creating his own. Tall order but I couldn't stop trying to make sense of what I was seeing.
  18. Pats are playing Madden in GM mode and every other team is set on the lowest setting. Nope. I want to wait till 2020.
  19. That's where the Patriots snag the franchise QB the Bills pass over for a defensive back for McDermott's scheme to succeed Brady.
  20. Bills still need a #2, #3, and # 4 WR.
  21. Bills start out each year with 2 automatic losses. That means we need to go 10-4 the rest of the way to have a shot at the playoffs.
  22. Mahomes has Dak's body and swagger with better accuracy. I'm down.
