  1. If you start a McDermott thread based on what he has done so far I will be more than happy to contribute to it.
  2. Yes, many fans have accepted losing as their lot in life. I would prefer to see the Bills hire the best coach, GM, acquire the best QB and stop being a joke. Asking for more is what many real fans do. Try it some time. Look at the latest commercial with Sean that Russ Brandon created. Brandon really thinks Bills fans are suckers.
  3. I just made crispy chicken thighs with shallots and mushrooms last night. They bring the flavor. Throw in some wine, chicken stock, and butter and you should be good to go.
  4. I am not going to bother citing all the evidence that Sean was in charge. It's enormous and vast. And it really is common sense. Why would a team let a guy they told they were firing pick players? That scenario is ALMOST as a crazy as what actually happened where the Panthers D coordinator was picking players from scouts he said had to go.
  5. Please share your drafting QB strategy. I would love to hear it. The fact is that there are 32 NFL teams and many of them need a QB. This idea that you don't draft a QB high because the guy might bust is the mentality of a loser. Then again the Bills have created that losing culture so it is no surprise that many fans buy into it.
  6. If Doug Whaley told me over a beer that he made the picks I wouldn't believe him. It defies all known rules of human power and organization. Terry Pegula certainly wants to muddy the water? Why? If Sean is such a great GM give him his credit.
  7. Yes, Whaley sat in the GM chair and did his job. McDermott had final call on every pick and trade. What is funny to me is Pegula saying Whaley ran the draft. Can Terry start taking responsibility and telling the truth? Give Sean the credit.
  8. It depends on what Leroi means by "run the draft". If he means Whaley made the picks that is absolutely absurd.
  9. If someone has a McDermott thread I will be glad to create an itemized list. This is a Beane thread.
  10. Run the draft is Pegula BS. Are you claiming Whaley made the draft choices? Whaley helped make phone calls and assisted Sean. This draft is 100 percent Sean McDermott.
  11. I don't recall your avatar playing for the Buffalo Bills.
  12. Leroi's statement and what I believe are not far off. I would say "run the draft" means something other than make the picks. Sean made the picks.
  13. On fourth down, Rivera willingly gave the ball to back to the Broncos. Rivera, by choice, punted with two minutes left in a game -- a game in which the Panthers were trailing by two touchdowns. Rivera punted and the Broncos burned off half of the remaining time left, all but ending the game. http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/what-was-riverboat-ron-doing-punting-that-late-in-super-bowl-50/
  14. This is a Beane thread. If you want to discuss Mahomes there is another thread.
  15. Yes, I think Leslie Frazier, Ron Rivera, and Sean McDermott are all on a branch from the Jim Johnson tree. Jim Johnson was an innovative, attacking the QB coordinator. And all of these guys started out that way. But when these guys got their own chances: Leslie Frazier favored a Tampa 2, bend but don't break simple scheme. He also liked to punt. Ron Rivera handed his defense over to Sean but is known by fans as a VERY conservative head coach who punts the ball a lot. Sean is the next one to get a chance. We shall see but his scheme in Carolina has become more similar to Frazier's Tampa 2 than what he originally was learning with Jim Johnson. He also selected Frazier to run his D, an ominous sign.
  16. McDermott worked for Reid. I don't consider them similar as coaches. Andy is offense and Sean is defense. Reid is a brilliant X and O's coach as well as a QB guru. I see Leslie Frazier and Ron Rivera as the true tree McDermott resides on.
  17. There was no collaboration. Whaley's viewpoints were ignored. I do give Doug credit for being a good soldier and helping out the guy who got rid of him until the end.
  18. I was told that Whaley and Sean were working great together and collaborating. Which I thought was total BS. I was right.
  19. If he comes in and says his plan is to acquire a franchise QB and load up the team with talent draft after draft I will cheer and be a fan. Let me ask you, this works both ways. Is there anything he could say that would bother you?
  20. Well, no need for us to do anything now. Training camp will start soon and people will be able to see for themselves.
  21. I will be very disappointed if he just speaks in coach cliches like McD. I want to see a plan and have them at least outline something.
  22. But let's be clear. Peterman is not a 5th rounder because of his weak arm. His tape is also not pretty. His stint in Tennessee had him public enemy #1. The scouting reports I got said Peterman is a younger T.J. Yates or a Matt Moore.
  23. Once McDermott was hired Whaley had no control of the roster despite public pronouncements.
  24. Alex Smith was traded for 2 high picks. He wasn't scraps.
