We’ll see where the Eagles end up this year - Hurts cap hit isn’t at its max yet and yes I knew where Allen was - Diggs as well. As soon as Allen’s cap hit ballooned Diggs is gone (I know other factors led to this). As soon as Mahomes salary hit, Hill was gone. The JJ, Chase, Waddle, and Higgins contracts are going to tell us a lot. If you have a top 3 QB in the game getting paid like it teams need to make sure 20 percent of the cap isn’t on WRs and the QB. No chance that team is winning a SB if they do. The Dolphins have one more good shot. The Bengals same. Same with the Eagles, Lions, 49ers. The Bills had their shot and now the reboot is here - it actually started some last season.

Also you won’t see many examples of it now and in the years ahead because teams aren’t going to pay it. Like I said we’ll learn a bit more from the Waddle, Tua, and Chase contracts in regards to what teams are willing to commit to the cap.

If we are solid most everywhere and have a glaring WR need next draft - which I doubt will be glaring - you make this move at the 2025 draft. We didn’t have enough to move up this year. Next year, especially if we miss the playoffs, we will have enough. That will give us Coleman, the 2025 Rookie WR, and the rest with tons of cap space with little of it committed to WR bc Diggs cap hit will be gone.

I think the looming Waddle and Tua contracts will reveal a lot about how teams approach this scenario. What percentage of their cap are they going to allot to Tua and Waddle and how do they make that work? Same with Chase in Cincy.

See I no longer think it was this deep class. 1-3 are probably going to be elite. The rest are exciting hope to hit prospects. Yea if I saw what was enough to trade him 24 in 23, I’d have done it. Regardless how it affected our SB chances for 23. He proved in 23 and at the end of the season he wanted out. Other than Nukua there weren’t any WRs to be had to replace Diggs in the draft.

Look at their cap for next year. Hurts contract really kicks in for 25. Plus, they stink. At least all their defense is on rookie deals. They really blew it vs the Chiefs. They won’t be back. Correct but that doesn’t change the fact - look what teams are doing now or planning to do for 25 bc of positional value and percentage of cap hits.
