My theory is these people were probably 40-45 when they voted Obama in 2008. They hated Bush and traditional conservatives. They lucked into being able to afford their first McMansions with interest rates at 3 percent, and sold their first homes that skyrocketed during the early 2000s housing boom and made over 200 percent over what they paid for it. They voted the unqualified black guy that spoke well in order to not feel racist despite isolating themselves in their McMansions away from minorities. Trump beat Hillary - she was supposed to be the first woman president. This sent them so far off the rails that they believed anything about Covid so long as Orange Man would lose. 2024 and everything they destroyed bc of Covid but are in total denial over bc they caused it has sent them into “they need to be under 24/7 points psychiatric evaluation territory.
