I actually don't really like the fact that once I heard Murph talking about "Is a safety really worth this kind of money?" and Chris writing similar things that we were getting prepped that Byrd wasn't going to be signed long term. Just feels like state run radio to me when that happens.

I listened to Jason Whitlock's podcast today, and then looked up some of the stuff he was talking about...........TM was living with his uncle and not his mother. Whitlock said some things weren't adding up - why the mother was so dispassionate, why the parents weren't there for the verdict, etc. So, he looked into it and must have read stuff that I ended up reading. I don't even know if his parents were ever married. But, then his father was married to somebody who had a bunch of kids with him, and that wife is who really raised him the most, and she's the "forgotten one." His mother couldn't even answer basic questions about him early on, before the PR guy got involved. She didn't go up to Sanford until March 8th or so, even though her son was killed.........The father didn't contact the police until 14 hours or so after the incident. What kind of parent isn't saying WTF it's 1AM, 2AM, 4AM - where is Trayvon? (This is how Whitlock put it). Whitlock isn't exactly pro Zimmerman. He thinks that a better case should have been made for manslaughter. He had some interesting points on this. He said he knows Trayvon kicked his ass, and he was leading a thug lifestyle, but he said now he's never given the opportunity to have the lightbulb go on and turn around his life. (That is true, but the odds are better that he would have kept going down the wrong road).

Exactlly! This is huge lost revenue for the state of Florida. Devastating news.

Well, I guess that worked out in the end, so there's still hope here. I really am a big Byrd fan.

Exactly. I even had a brief twitter fight with an actress that I follow. She had said something about the racial verdict and I said did you watch the trial..............She said what is the point of my question. She watched enough to know it was racist BS!

I have this ultra liberal friend/colleague who I correspond with by email. She emailed me about the "appalling verdict" Sunday morning.............I asked her repeatedly - did you watch the trial and/or how did you come to this conclusion...........She kept just coming back with worse "Facts" than dog12345. I said OK, I can see that you didn't watch or pay attention to the trial and this is what she said (finally answering my question, but in a horrifying way - horrifying because she is also one of the multitudes saying the travesty, etc. on social media:

That is great. I honestly have so much dislike for liberals right now, like never before. It's exactly that - facts vs. opinions. I have seen it posted a few times on the Springsteen board that I frequent (among 100 other things of misinformation) the same thing I just read on a facebook page: it doesn't take a genius to figure out Zimmerman had a vendetta against black people since 100% of the calls he made to 911 were about "suspicious black guys". The problem with this is when the first person said it on the board, I followed her link which she obviously never even checked..............Out of the 46 calls, about 7-8 were mentioned a black male. Two mentioned non blacks. About 20 didn't give any race.........And, the rest were crap like animals and smoke alarms. Who gave them this talking point...............it seems to me from reading that facebook page, and from the big bold CNN headlines right now, that they are trying to stir up riots. They only wanted a trial, they said!

I don't know if he was in the same mindframe as me. I thought they were going to say 2nd degree murder and give the verdict and then manslaughter and give the verdict. That's what they usually do. And, BTW, who was the blonde next to him? The thing is if you were black, you would have blamed the whole thing on being black. Cops are usually equal opportunity aholes.

Exactly. The prosecution tried painting it that if GZ was not a scumbag with hate in his heart, he would have immediately done first aid............Wasn't the first cop there less than 30 seconds later? Was he supposed to jump up from an ass whipping and immediately do CPR or whatever?
