  1. My opinion, the worst coaching job that Belichick has performed is this year but he still has time to turn it around.

And by worst/turn it around I mean playing competitive but losing football.

The best outcome AFC-E teams could ask for would be competent playing by the Pats leading to at least 6 wins. That virtually assures they aren't in the running for getting or trading for a top 2 draft position.

I know saying tank is considered heretical in the NFL, and that you'll lose the respect of your players, no real NFL player would not try his hardest to win, etc. etc.

That goes out the door with a coach that has Belichick's reputation to say nothing of the decimation of the team due to COVID and a more-than-usual amount of loss in free agency.

Imagine a Pats team that only wins one more game and drafting #2 with potential to trade for #1 - or worse, getting a farmload of picks for someone who wants to trade up to #2.

They and Miami would each have a bunch of picks, and could theoretically remake their teams in one offseason.

I haven't seen a snap all season 😕 I've been following on the board here during games. Is it all three lvls of the D or where are the problems coming from ? The last few yrs the D bailed them out quite a bit. How is there such a big swing ?

In Italy now. Got here just before the season started.

Not much difference between Afghanistan and Ital.....sorry, I couldn't keep a straight face long enough to type that.

Misinformed and misguided posters? Like yourself?

"Most major sports outlets picked the Steelers".

Ok? What does this have to do with my point that that the Steelers weren't a good team with Duck Hodges as their QB? They weren't. They lost 3 in a row to end the season including a blow out loss to the Ravens backups.

Apparently the "revisionist history" coment was was missed. Although, you did include it in your quote. Well, I prefer to assume you missed it in answer to your follow-up question, rather than assume you're not astute enough to understand.

Either way, you did see the multiple posts in this thread and leading up to that game where - as I stated - at the time of the gamme most pundits had the Steelers as the *significantly* better team.

Why does that matter now that we know who won? Because going into that game (and during it) the music, the court of popular opinion, general professional consenus...they all impact psyche and are psychological warfare. Whether intentional or not.

Were the 2015-2016 Cleveland Cavaliers a better team than the GSW that year? No one thought so. Even after winning the championship, would you bet on them to win again if they played another 7-game series the next week (probably not.)

Would you bet your house the Bills would beat the Steelers again if they replayed that game? Maybe 6 out of 10 times, I'd be comfortable. And that's with the benefit of history helping me choose.

The Steelers were not significantly worse than the Bills, especially given the circumstances of the game. The Bills lost two of their last three games too, remember. As to whether they "were not a good team" I can only say, again, they were not signifcantly worse than the Bills, even after losing to the Bills. So every little thing matters in those games (as in most NFL games.)

Quit changing history to fit your agenda. I appreciate a dissenting opinion, but not one that is made without logical reasoning and only to incite emotion.

    Good day, sir.

Not trying to throw shade, but people talk about the Steelers like they were a good team. They weren’t. Not with Duck Hodges as their QB.

Revisionist history. Most major sports outlets picked the Steelers as the easy win.

To this day I don't know why you even participate in this board.

Not trying to throw shade, but peeople talk about this forum like it's a good message board. It is, but not with incessantly depressed and misinformed, misguided, or just plain wrong posters as the content providers.

That website includes playoff games and is irrelevant. Josh was not ninth.

PFR has the difference in drop% between the Bills and Dallas at 1%. Buffalo at 7, Dallas at 6. NFL median is around 4.9.

So it wasn’t as bad as the Bills, so it doesn’t matter? Cool.

I guarantee 90% of the folks espousing on Dak watched two or less Dallas games this year.

The dude with 14 career GWD’s in 3 years just doesn’t show composure or lead well. Lol sure.

I wonder what their reaction is when people say JA is a bad quarterback because of the Houston playoff game.

Even if they only watched ONE Dallas game last year and it was the Bills-Dallas game, I'm not sure how you say Dak is a mediocre QB given his stats against the Bills, arguably the best passing defense in the NFL. His team didn't win, and he had a couple bad plays at the end trying to force a win. But most of the game he was terrific. Kind of like a QB and game I remember in the playoffs against Houston.

All that said, in a vacuum do I think Dak is a better QB than JA right now talking purely on field ability? Yes. Do I think the Bills go further THIS year with Dak than JA - actually I can't definitively say yes to that, but put a gun to my head and I'd probably choose Dak right now to win one game. Do I trade JA for Dak at this point in their careers, my expected trajectory for both, and impact to team performance? Hell no.

    Basically called him a pu$$y...

Btw,  link to it on Youtube here:

First: thank you for linking that.

Those guys - Murph included - were brutal. Hilarious.

Second: if "basically" called him a ***** = what Fitz said "...and to Doug Whaley. Thank you so much for showing my son Braden what a spineless ***** really looks like" then we must be looking at different definitions of "basically".

I had no idea they hated him so much. Even Aaron Williams came on stage to applaud that comment.

(P.S. I think the best one was Murph's roast of Fitz and Travis Henry during Fitz's intro. You'll have to watch that one; no way I could do it justice.)

For all those complaining about a paywall, you need to clear your cookies. I can read it just fine.

Although not the point of this thread, if you are not in the US (or a very limited list of non-US countries) you can't access it, period.

I.E. for those of us deployed, they just outright block it. Because you know, all the US military who are deployed are hacker/cyber-terrorists.

Yes, I can use a VPN. Which, if I actually were trying to hack the site, is exactly what I would do anyway.

They block it because it doesn't match up with their advertising profile. Even though anything I buy is from the US. Their loss.

Daboll literally interviewed for a HC position today.  As far as ESPN goes, three people were given time to either praise Watson or laugh at Allen.  They chose to laugh at Allen.  Maybe that’s just multiple people in the same segment and not technically multiple segments.  Congrats to Josh apologists.  His play that this board is somehow praising only got laughed at by multiple people in a single segment on a show that gets aired multiple times rather than single people in multiple segments.

They may have an agenda. Similar to certain posters on this board.

If not clear enough - they want to prove their prognostications of failure for Josh through any means possible, including faulting him for being the primary playmaker on the team.

Your posts also tend toward the "Josh-hater" side rather than the neutral side as well, although it may be just anti-Bills in general. Of the posts I've read of yours, they are either anti-Allen or anti-bad calls against the Bills. None defend any possibility that a pro-Bill comment could be correct.

It's just the way he finished the game, he was steller in first half and he did make some plays to get us tied but it's hard to forget his intentional grounding, 4th down sack and lateral to no one. I thought Allen played well yet could have been much better in the 2nd half.

You mean when he had two defensive players on a free rush to him with less than 2 seconds to do anything?

Yeah - that's not really on Josh.

  11. I kind of agree with him using his likeness for the beer sales. I suppose there's technically no difference between the Bills using his likeness for "advertising"/"ticket sales" then there is for a beer company, but he tacitly approved of the Bills with the original intent of the video.

While I think his going after the Bills is in poor taste (I can't speak to the legality), I think the beer company using his image without approval is in even worse taste.

Which is probably appropriate, given what I've heard about the beer...

The second was maybe the best play he’s made in his NFL career. Under pressure, Allen stood in the pocket, saw receiver John Brown make a filthy move on a Patriots cornerback and floated it out perfectly to the streaking speedster.

    *cough* Gilmore *cough*

Total TDs given up during coverage for the 2019 season so far:

    Tre' White - 0

    Stephon Gilmore - 1

Hey I don't have any issue with anyone on this board but for some reason every time I post you need to chime in from the peanut gallery. My post wasn't directed to bills fans just you.

"You guys are one and done"

Dude, you're either a liar, or delusional, or both.

That's okay though. You had better hope the Bills are a LOT better than you like to act, or the Pats are one and done too.

it's going to be great enjoying the schadenfreude of you Pats fans as Brady drives your team into mediocrity.

To expound on what you've already said, this is the offense that took Kaepernick to the SB, Tyrod Taylor to the Pro Bowl 2 years in a row and now is setting all kinds of rushing and scoring records in Baltimore.  It is most definitely sustainable.

It's also the offense that saw the 49er's and Kaepernick look bad enough that they replaced him at QB and eventually in the NFL, and had Taylor drop 10 point in QBR and throw for 17 TDs in his second year. Athough...arguably due to Roman being fired, I suppose

Greg Roman should never have been fired for a team whose defense played terribly. But I'm not certain there's enough history to say that Roman's scheme isn't going to be figured out. So far, every offense gets figured out (see: Miami WIld Cat to Bills K-Gun to Rams 2018 season.) The question is whether the players and coaches are good enough to come up with another good offensive scheme.

Lamar is crazy athletic. Enough so that as long as he has a decent O-line, I have a feeling he'll do pretty well regardless of whether this scheme gets "figured out."

But I don't believe for a second that this scheme is so impenetrable that it won't be.

Hell, right now I'd say the trick is take Mark Andrews out of the game. Preferably by coverage rather than injury like against the Bills, but minus a blown coverage against Hurst once Andrews left it was a different game.

Not to hijack the thread and maybe this belongs in the Bills / Ravens thread, but I couldn't help but notice that number 1 and number 4 in this list play for the Ravens. I sure hope McD and Frazier have some answers for this 2-headed monster.

    Actually, #s 4 & 5 play for the 49er's.
