  1. Which NFL team could you see yourself becoming a fan of, and why?

Gmen - I live 25 minutes from Giants Stadium and after 17 years I was finally able to root for the giants in last year's superbowl against the dreaded patsys. If the Bills leave Buffalo this is what I'm left with - can't do the jets - that's like marrying your ex-wife's sister.

  2. It does hurt. Fans should be pissed. We just lost to one of the worst teams in the league.

Which makes us one of the worst teams in the league.

The hot start gave us a false sense of how good we are. But look at the teams we beat - look at their records. That tells the real story.

"It does hurt. Fans should be pissed. We just lost to one of the worst teams in the league. "

    At FRIGGIN' HOME ALREADY!!!!!!!!!!! Unbelieveable.

  3. I like the rest of you, am a a bills fan for life........when they win, I smile, when they lose I get depressed and have an awful week.

but something I learned this year was after the jets game......I just didnt care anymore...........it was like I had wasted my entire list feeling bad when the bills would lose a game........the entire week I just felt horrible at school, college, presently work.

but now........its whatever.........too bad it took 2/3rds of my life to get to this point

What have you learnt this season?

It has taken me a loooooooong time to get to this point, but I just might be done. There will always be an attachment to this team (been a fan for more than 40 years) for me, but actively following them might be in my past. I like the game of football and it is pretty easy to be a casual fan. People all over the country know me as the Bills fan - but, let's face it, this is a losing organization with NO fight left and Ralph won't spend the money to get a top name football official to guide this team. Just look at the list of coaches and GMs we've had since Wade Phillips. I was almost offended at the national press for refusing to respect this team after the first four wins - I guess the joke was on us after all.

  4. Ordered a beer and a cheeseburger and settled in to watch the Bills at my local backers bar. By halfway through the first quarter I knew it was over. End of the 1st and no burger! WTF. 2nd quarter is worse than anything I can conceive of but finally the burger arrives and I eat, finish the beer, pay my tab and head home. Did I miss something? Nah. There is nothing to miss with what has become the 2008 Bills.

I have sat through every single Bills game the last few years but this season is different. I knew today, after just a couple of plays, that nothing good was to be seen in this game, just like I knew the Jets game was a washout. I also know that this season is over and done. We look worse week to week and the problems are to numerous to mention. The coaches have no answers and the players are in a daze. I can't even get mad any longer because this has been going on for years. We have gone from 5-1 to probably not breaking .500.

I have quit caring this year. Sorry Bills but I won't be wasting my Sundays watching this garbage product any longer this season. Hell, I feel like an idiot sitting there watching this tragicomedy every week, year in and year out.

The insidious thing about this disease (being a fan of the Bills) is that you can't get away from it. I have felt like you, momentarily, many times over the years because you just get tired of having your hopes dashed - it is emotionally draining. However, I guarantee that you'll be back in that bar ordering that hamburger and beer really soon - you just can't get away from it.

  5. For a variety of reasons, I think having the board split off from the Two Bills Drive domain name may not be the best way to handle the situation. I registered stadiumwall.com during the evil Rivals.com years in order save the board from their diabolical clutches.

However, now I'm thinking that maybe it would be beneficial to re-unite the board with it's roots and have everyone go to:

    forums.twobillsdrive.com

I would, of course, do some fancy rocket science stuff and have all the stadiumwall.com links go to the right place.

    Any objections to this?

I've been here for more than 10 years - I'll follow.

  6. Bills | Parrish says he is ready to play

    Mon, 13 Oct 2008 17:49:22 -0700

The Rochester Democrat and Chronicle reports Buffalo Bills WR Roscoe Parrish (thumb) said he is ready to play. Parrish practiced Monday, Oct. 13. "I'm very excited. ... I've been out for three weeks. I was kind of sluggish out there with my endurance and getting in shape and just trying to get back in the groove of things. But I was catching the ball and just going out there pretty good," Parrish said.

You gotta love YOUTH! I would have taken me 6 months, minimum, to recover from that injury.

  7. I was born in 1956 and and lived about 15 blocks from the Rockpile as a kid. After one of the AFC Championship games against KC in '64 or '65, an older guy walked through our neighborhood with his head down and told us "there were a lot of very unhappy people at the stadium and to stay away from there." Also, several years later, when the Bills drafted OJ, I remember everyone in the neighborhood listening to the first preseason game on their front porches - there was a LOT of excitement about him being in Buffalo.

  8. Did you hear Chris Carter? He said that we didn't play anybody yet. That we will come back down to earth before the season is over.He was on Mike and Mike today too.He doesn't think too much of us.

The Titans have beaten Jax, Cin, Houston and Min (combined standings of 3-12); the Bills have beaten Seattle, Jax, Raiders and Rams (combined standings of 4-11).

What is Chris Carter talking about?

  9. First - the bad news. I actually set the VCR to record today's game. Last season it seemed every game I recorded we lost.

Now - the good news. I screwed up and set the 'off' time to 6 PM, forgetting it was a 4PM game.

So as soon as the VCR stopped recording we started winning.

    I'm sorry.

    And you're welcome. :w00t:

Actually, it was my fault - I was supposed to have a beer opened at the start of the game and finish it before the end of the first quarter - we've won when I did that. Next week I will make sure that happens.

  10. “I’ve said this all season,” said defensive end Chris Kelsay, “Trent is mature beyond his years. You’d never guess he’s a second-year quarterback, because he’s got complete control of his huddle, and he has the respect of the entire team. It’s good to have a quarterback like that.”

When I read this quote and I believe Donte said something similiar on Jim Rome yesterday, I wonder how it would play if

Trent went out for any period of time and JP was called on. In praising their QB they indirectly or directly have to throw another

teammate under the bus. It's best to cut or move a former starter because it just puts players in akward situations.

If Trent goes out and JP moves the team, they will have confidence in him as well. This can't be news to JP - he lost his starting job to the guy for crying out loud. Plus, JP moved the ball with team pretty well in preseason.

  11. Can't wait until I'm 21...year and a couple months :nana:

I'm just shocked at the number of NYC Bills fans. I've lived in Westchester for about 8 years and its just Giants and Jets every where. Are a lot of the NYC backers western NY transplants?

I'm sure the vast majority of them are transplants. I live in Jersey and used to go to a bar before DTV and all of the Bills fans I ran into (about 20 over a several year period) were from Buffalo except one. However, for the strangest reason, there is a pretty large contingent of Bills fans on Staten Island (go figure). I was at a Bills/jests game about 13 years ago and ran into a lady wearing a Bills jersey who had been slugged (their fans are maybe worse than ours) and she was from Staten Island and was telling me about the Bills fans over there.

  12. Man, Today was the loudest game I have ever been to in my life. The 12th man where I was sitting was rockin the crowd, so much so, some fans broke the bleachers in front of us. The end of the 4th quarter was intense........

    Scrappy win.........

Defense leaned on the crowd a lot today!

Oh and to the Germany Bills Backers I believe they were, hope you enjoyed the atmosphere.....

I'm glad to hear that - you really couldn't tell on TV, they had the crowd noise on mute.

  13. I read in the Buffalo News that we are wearing the 1960s throwbacks for the Oakland game. Obviously this is superstition and will play no role in how the game plays out, but does anyone know what our record is when we play in our throwbacks. I remember last year reading in the paper that we had a pretty bad record in them - one of those being the Dallas game last year. I don't want any curses for a game we should be winning!

Look, as long as I finish a beer during the first quarter and sit on the left side of my sofa - we'll win - it's just that simple.
