  1. I read this morning where current Rams players and fans were upset that Rush Limbaugh was one of the bidders for the Rams. If it was us, would you be upset?

Trust me - Rush is NOT going to get a team. At the end of the day, too many players will refuse to play for him. This will end as a potential labor issue. There are some ramifications in life to making your living as a politial and racial lightning rod. It AIN'T gonna happen.

  2. Here is my opinion, based on being a Bills fan for over 40 years, growing up in Buffalo and watching and listening to Ralph Wilson all those years: Either you, Mr. Brinkworth and/or your "highly reliable" DWI attoney are full of sh..! Ralph Wilson is not negotiating with Industry of California, Tom Golisano, Jim Kelly or Skooby. The man is 91 freakin' years old. He has told us his plan flat out, and that is to own the Bills until he dies. Then his heirs will sell the team to whoever they want to. End of story. I believe the guy. You can believe whatever you want. It seems insane for the guy to wait until this point in his long life to screw the fans behind their backs and sell the team out of town while he's still breathing.

That's my story, and I'm sticking with it until someone proves otherwise.

His story makes sense to me. Selling the team to interests who want to move to LA makes much more financial sense than selling to a group trying to stay in Buffalo - the price tag goes waaaay up and what you can be certain of is that he is looking out for the financial future of his family. With the possibility that the salary cap could go away, Buffalo looks even less attractive. Wilson is the main owner screaming about the how the league's finances are changing and is trying to position his family properly. One can argue that he is doing best by Bills fans by staying here while he is alive, but one has to ask, how long can he continue to ignore the financial reality for his family. A billion dollar sale versus a five/six hundred million dollar sale is quite a difference.

  3. Dungy, Dan Patrick and the other clown (Rodney Harrison?)...were chuckling about how the Bills were shredded on the ground for 250+ yds. Dungy and crew could not understand how they don't totally stack the box and make a 1st game rookie beat you. They hinted that Buffalo didn't show up. Then again, i watched when Ryan Leaf had his first career win against Buffalo so why should this surprise us?

I feel bad for me/us. All the big Bills fans out there. I've spent hundreds of dollars on tickets and airfare to see some games this year. What a waste for this horribly boring, undermanned and unprepared team. I'd fire Jauron tonight and bench Edwards next week for Fitzpatrick. HE would guarantee us a better game than we saw from Trent today,

That's coaching - why is Jauron still here? Enough already.

  4. Just wondering if anyone else is thinking that Quinn's struggles in Cleveland and supposedly being on the trading block might mean he'd be a reasonable pickup for the Bills?

There are quite a few folks that were disappointed that we didn't draft him when we had the chance--at the time Edwards seemed to be the answer....

Now, perhaps not so much? Quinn certainly has struggled, but could (and should) we go after him in a trade?

    How about Lynch for Quinn?

    Hmmmmmm....any other opinions?

    Absolutely NOT!

  5. This is right up there with the most frustrating efforts I've ever seen. This game was flat out conceded down the stretch. The defense played one hell of a game and gave us a chance when we had no business being in this game. But, to me, it is completely inexcusable to punt with 4th and 1 and 7:30 left when you're down by 2 scores. The game was completely over. The playcalling on offense showed no desire to even attempt to win, and Trent showed no desire to attempt to go down field. Hangartner snapped at least 10 consecutive balls right into Trent's shoe. It didn't look like the offense was even attempting to be in this game. We've endured some very heartbreaking moments in Bills history, but I've never seen such a blatant desire to throw in the towel. This was ridiculous.

I agree with you, even the offense wasn't great, they should have been good for 1 yard and it might have generated some excitement.

  6. If Jax loses the Jags, so what? We'll still have the great weather, the beaches, and the low taxes.

First, a little background.....born in 1960, and grew up in WNY in the southtowns. Of course was brought up to love the Bills and saw a few games at the Rockpile, and many games at Rich. Moved away in '78 to go to college and never came back (well, I've come back for yearly visits).

Been here in Jax since 1995, coincidentally the Jags first year. Of course the town was/is full of Dolfish fans, and even more Gator & Seminole fans. You may recall that the Jags had some phenomenal early success under Coughlin, but blew a 14-2 season with a loss to the Titans in the AFC Champ game (in Jax too). A large segment of the crowd has always been known as the "wine & cheese" crowd who really don't give a rat's a$$ about the game, then there's the "blue-collar" grunts......nbot sure who's causing the low turn-outs, prolly a combo of both.

Personally, of course I remained true to the Bills, and in the 90s and the early 2000s I was the biggest fan out there (had NFL ticket at home for many years). Then in about 2004 I had an epiphany and realized how much of my life I was wasting sitting in front of a TV watching football....and not just Bills games, but LOTS of other games too. Surely the Bills' dismal play had me frustrated and disappointed so often, that it made my decision easier to go "cold turkey" and spend my Sundays out actually doing things and enjoying my life.

OK, so what does all of the above have to do with anything? lol I think that a lot of people are coming to the same conclusion I did back in 2004. And with the woeful economy and ever-rising costs to go to a game, it makes it much easier. Certainly here in FL (even in the winter) there are PLENTY of "fun" things to do on Sunday instead of spending 3-9 hours watching football!

Oh btw, I'm glad I grew up in WNY and am proud of that, but IMHO, the quality of life available here in FL is far beyond what can be had up there.

I'm not saying I'm not a "fan" anymore, not at all. Just saying that I'm nowhere near the level I used to be, and there are many factors that caused it. For many people, the cost and hassle of going to a game just isn't worth it.

I am 4 years older than you - born and raised in Buffalo and lived in Jax for about 6 years. I still go there every year because several members of my immediate family live there (including my mother - father passed away 6 years ago). Quite frankly, the weather was a good thing, but Jacksonville has a lot of gaps in its appeal and is NOT an exciting city. Besides the beaches, which are not fun places to be all year (it is NOT South Florida), it is a cultural wasteland and I found the bar and party scene in Buffalo to be far superior. People that visited for the Super Bowl complained the entire time - there really is not that much to do down there. I live in NJ now and in no way, form or fashion, would I sacrifice my lifestyle here for one in Jacksonville - there is simply NO comparison (even with our stifling high taxes).

  7. Give me a !@#$ing break. Hold on to the ball during the most crucial part of the game and I'll cheer for you. Until then, suffer through the boos and go out there like the professional you are and do your god damned job.

This is not random cheering - this is to show the nation that Bills fans are not ignorant jerkoffs like the 'kids' who damaged his home. Geez, we cheered Scottie back in 1991 (as well we should have).

  8. considering that you are a lawyer, i'll take your opinion for what it's worth (nothing)

You can say his opinion means nothing all you want, but Vick has a second chance and you need to quit hatin' - life is moving the f*&^ on whether you want to or not - fortunately, the choice was not yours. If we spent more time truly trying to rehabilitate people as opposed to teaching them how to be better criminals, the world would be a better place. Nobody is excusing what Vick did, but he killed dogs - not people! Killing dogs is lowlife and criminal, but is it NOT the same as taking a human life.

  9. Most convicted felons don't stroll out of the pen and land ANOTHER huge sum of money. I'm not saying he doesn't deserve to get what he can, but lets not act like he picked himself back up by the boot straps.

He's doing what he knows how to do - period. Would you prefer he be in need and mug you somewhere?

  10. I left Buffalo decades ago for The City, but used to make frequent visits for reunions with my family. Now my parents have passed away, and I don't go back anymore. Now I live in the Phoenix area.

What I miss mostly is the food:

    * John & Mary's Royal sub (Harlem Rd. only) - cappacola and I-sausage

    * Texas Red Hots (the sauce, diced raw onions, and some mustard)

    * local pizza shops

    * real butcher shops like Redlinski's (don't tell me if they're gone)

It was home - hard to reproduce that feeling anywhere else. Buffalo has the best junk food of anyplace I've ever been.

I don't miss the self-hating attitude so many Buffalonians have and I don't miss cold Spring seasons.

  11. Also, i love my dog probably more than anything in the entire world... I forgive Vick no matter what happens to him, unless he does it again, or goes to the fish. You, Me, and even Mike Vick all deserve as many chances in life as possible. Nothing in this world is handed to any of us or him, so keep an open mind and heart all the time...

I agree - the guy made a HUGE mistake and he paid for it.

  12. Ditto!! The Bills would lose this fan

When is one considered to have paid his debt to society? As much as I love dogs (and cats) - have had dogs all my life and now my family has a cat that we LOVE - I don't view my cat like I view one of my children. As sickening as what he did was, and it hurts and disgusts me to think about it, he went to jail for it. If we want him to serve more time, then we need to adjust our criminal justice system. He did his time. We do this to all kinds of petty thieves and criminals - continue to persecute them for a crime they paid their debt for, then they can't get employment and end up back in a life of crime trying to survive. Let's move on already.

  13. So T.O. signs and mentions that he is now playing for "North America's Team" at the presser.

Then he gives his first radio interview to Fan 590. Last weekend he's court-side at a Raptor's game in an official team jersey.

Finally, he gives his first television interview since his signing to TSN.

I've got a pretty thick skin, but maybe he should talk to a Buffalo TV station and consider turning up for a Sabres' game.

Did the team put him in charge of selling the proposed 2nd game to Toronto? Is Roger's Communication sliding him some cash under the table? Is he in love with poutine?

    Conspiracy theorists discuss.

What until he does his first regular season game in Buffalo and he sees the difference in atmosphere between the real home games in Buffalo and the fake atmosphere in Toronto - he'll be just fine - don't worry. He has to do the marketing up there. BTW, he might just think Toronto is more fun.

  14. He's' a 90 year old man that just realized the culmination of his life is enshrinement for all time into the HOF. He looked shocked, in awe, and amazed to me. Cut him some slack.

I find it most telling that the majority of his comments were about other players and the City of Buffalo. Not himself. The man is all class and I'm proud he's the owner of the team I live and die for.

Amen to that! BTW, that 90 year-old man still has his team in Buffalo and he doesn't have to!

  15. Look, if Jim Rome is talking about it along with the rest of the nation.....ITS A BAD CALL.......

Run a guard pulling sweep for 6 plus yards, they run it all day long for 5 plus every play.....

    ------

It's a bad call - period - when you are running the ball down their throats - you only make that call if you NEED to get downfield and score - particularly, that far back on your own side of the field - it was STUPID! Remember back in 1990 when the Broncos came to town and the blocked field goal that gave the Bills a score - the game and turned around a season that took us to our first super bowl. I was with a good friend (a platonic female friend who knows a lot about sports) and she kept saying as they were lining up for the field goal - they've been running the ball on the Bills all day, why not take a shot on 4th down - at worst, they miss and have us backed way up against our own goal. This was a much stupider (I know that's not really a word) call because it is so obvious.

  16. I think Fireman Ed is a great fan......nothing wrong with that. He's like the Elvis dude at our stadium except way F'n better!

I agree with you. I have been to several Bills/jests games over the years (I live in NJ), and, for the most part, the fans can be fun to hang out with. You really do have to be careful because there are lots of lunatic fans there and usually several big brawls with Bills fans when the beer starts to flow (sounds a little like the Ralph to me). It is possible to mind your own business and still get into a fight. I almost got into a fight years ago when at the end of a game the ball was thrown to Don Beebe to set up a first down which could put the Bills in a position to win. The guy behind me told me that some guys several rows back were gonna throw beer on my wife and me if Beebe caught the pass. I had on Bill's gear, but never cheered loud or acted obnoxious. I was there with my wife and really didn't want to get into a fight - I threatened that that was the last beer they'd ever throw, but, fortunately, Beebe missed the pass (got hurt) and it never came to pass.

  17. I'm gonna catch some heat for this post, but I can't stand it anymore. Am I happy with the Bills, no. But my god. No matter what happens, win or lose, I can't think of another whiny, cry me an f-ing river bunch of fans. What bothers me even more are the, "I'm so clever, I came up with a cool title for my post, and then I'm going to sh-- all over he Bills, and whine and cry, blah blah blah." I'm sick of this There is such a negative attitude with our fans. Something goes bad and we think there's no chance. I'm sick of it. I know all of you aren't like this, but it seems like more than enough are. We have good players, a coach who might or might not be here, but the constant is teh fans. And I'll tell you...we suck.

How old are you and how long have you been a Bills fan? Don't settle for bull&^$%, they owe us, the most loyal fans in the league, a better product than this - period!
