Allen with the blatant fake slide on the long run, then later draws a 15 yard penalty on a late hit on slide where the defender didn't hit his head.....but can you blame him for going for the tackle based on the fake earlier?

The slide is a play intended to protect the QB, not to do what Allen did.  That was garbage.

You thought it was fake slide? Apparently it was the first game you have ever seen. The penalty on the slide was on the soft side but  your first comment is beyond stupid.

  2. Diggs is a prima Donna but thankfully 90% of it shows during the off season. I would honestly be shocked if he pulled the AJ Brown crap during the season. Diggs wants to win and believes in his heart that he is the guy to get us there, so I want him around. His emotional cost is well worth his production IMO

Why do u say that? What was Bernard asked to do differently than Edmunds ? Or vice versa? They play the same position in the exact same defense.  Both played deep coverage. Both blitzed. There is nothing that I saw all year to suggest Bernard was asked to do anything differently than Edmunds was the prior 5 years.

Bernard is just a better player despite Edmunds being bigger, stronger, and faster.

Edmunds was expected to be our run stopper and told to keep everything in front of him. There is is a reason that JT went off the day he was not in the lineup. Edmunds had the job of cleaning up others messes which he did very well. Edmunds rarely blitzed and was often expected to play all of the underneath stuff much more often Bernard. Bernard is more dynamic and allowed more latitude in where he is expected to be. As far as your comment of the "same defense" I can't really help because this defense this year is much more attacking than previous years and we try to dictate much more than prior years.

  4. My vote for KC is because I think the Browns have a much better chance of taking out the Ravens and that will give a chance to have AFC title game in Buffalo. As far as matchups go I am worried about Ravens and then the Chiefs a way behind and the rest we should beat.

  5. If I was allowed to vote the only two guys I am considering is CMC and Purdy. CMC passed every version of stat/eye test I can think of and is the guy defenses plan around. Purdy is stats wise the best. Lamar has a great defense and is allowed to play average and still win. I would still prefer Josh over any of them, but that is not the point of the award. If Lamar wins I won't know what to say because he is statistically so far behind Purdy in almost every category, you would have to give far too much weight to one bad game.

Doesn't work like that Tim from Orlando. If you do the wrong thing and it works doesn't mean it was the right thing. It worked this time but you don't field punts inside the 10, definitely not at the 4.

He had a ton of room and the "rule" you reference is a guideline for guys who can't house it. The punter out kicked his coverage and it was clear from the moment he caught it that he had a chance to rip a large return. I will answer your "wrong thing" with a few statements- since it was the tying points, it was not a lucky play on Hartys part, and he basically ran untouched you are proving your lack of knowledge. It was not the safe play but he has the ability to make it the right play, which he did. Now McKelvin should not have returned his kick.

Yep, they missed one that changed the scoreboard. It happens

He's a ballcarrier at that point and they are not calling a penalty on guy defending the goalline there.

Helmet to helmet is not decided by ball carrier rules - why do say it matters? If you helmet to helmet anyone it is a penalty.

  8. I will respond to this as I have to people who complain about the coach, who do you want? If you can't give an single answer then STFU, your lack of knowledge is simply annoying. If you can name someone else you are splitting hairs or simply ignorant

Glad it worked out but he did catch the punt at the 4 which is something you never do. Go Bills

Or something you only do when you have a pro bowl season under your belt. At what point during that return did you think he made a mistake? If you say at any point your knowledge of football is really low.

  10. Some of y'all are too funny. We have an other worldly QB and so many can only see the flaws. He is not perfect but neither was Eli Manning but he has two rings and Eli is not Josh good. I am curious if you want the QB who has never led a 4th quarter comeback or the QB who has 1 win the playoffs?

  11. I don't read the game day thread as it happens but who is dumb enough to state they want someone other than Josh? He had an off day and went for 425 yards and 2 tds. Of his TO only one was actually poor. The second was whatever and the third was a terrible play by our line that he was surprised by.

First: he digged the hole he is now getting credit for getting out of.

Second, we squeaked out wins against undermanned teams over the past 5 games.  Let's not get ahead of ourselves and see what happens in the playoffs, when most McD issues arise.

Those criticizing you obviously don't understand sarcasm.

I really don't care. Get in and go from there. The other logic makes no sense whatsoever and is stupid

The other logic is preparing to cope. I have family who told me in October that the Bills can't make the playoffs, can't win the divisions, can't win against Dallas. It is preparing to deal with disappointment. It is annoying but comes from an honest place. I am simply smarter than them and don't engage much

  14. I generally like the divisions and guarantee they will not be disappearing because division games can make game matter at the end of  seasons that would not otherwise matter. It also allows teams to sell merchandise as division winners and therefore more money. Lastly I am ok with it because with 3 wild cards if you have one of the 4 best records in your conference you are in the playoffs. That means simply being top 25% in your conference you are guaranteed a playoff spot, which is more than reasonable.

I think you misread his tweet. At no point does he say to hire someone who is less qualified because of their race.

This is the mistake that a lot of people make: that the purpose is to hire less qualified people to meet some moral goal.

The reality is that we have traditionally excluded people from roles due to their demographics (not their qualifications). The goal here is to expand the talent pool to include people who would normally have been left out so that we can find qualified people who are traditionally overlooked.

Per the tweet you responded to:

”You may not agree, but I take it as a given that there are  people of various races, ethnicities, orientation, etc that are regularly excluded from hiring consideration.  By extending our hiring search to include  them, we can find people that are more qualified. “

Extending a search to less normal pools of candidates is good except when the normal pool of candidates is so limited because the skills needed are limited. There is a reason that the stories of people becoming NFL players without playing high school football are so rare, those with the willingness and ability to be an NFL player is limited. Being a doctor has a lot of soft skills but lots of hard skills that some can't do but we keep pretending it does not matter.

  16. I actually think it is a bit insulting to compare Tua to Jones. Jones had one above average year and Tua has had several along with his offense being explosive quite often. This is a top 12 QB in this league  but will never win games without a lot of talent around him

    Diversity makes us stronger

This kind of statement is the stupidest thing that I ever believed at one time. When you say diversity you only mean racially and race is the least important aspect of a person. I live in an area where white people are less than 50% of the population and I am very happy here but the area has no other kind of diversity really. We are involved parents who ensure our community standards are maintained. Everyone is successful financially, expects their children to succeed at school and supports their children. We would not stand for vandalism, or riots, or violence in the streets. When someone broke into a house and was shot, we did not protest for the robber. I will ask one direct question of you, if we put an uneducated black trans person as president of Harvard now would that be an improvement?
