We have pulled more tricks than BF at a SF gentleman's club. I think this week will be no different.
The thing I like about the trick plays this year is that they have worked. I know that sounds dumb, but if they hadn't we would be all over Mularky's ass. But they have. Finally the ball has bounced our way. Except for last week's fake punt, we've been almost dead on.
I'm wondering if a called fake punt will be on the books this week?
I think the fake punt really shows yet again our lack in faith in Lindell. Hear me out. In a situation where some teams would try a 45-50+, we decide to either punt or fake punt.
Either way, I wouldn't be surprised to see a flea flicker (again), or a half back option. Anything it takes to win - so long as it works.

Seriously, do you think that the DC of the opposing team (or a position coach)checks the numbers of every opposing player coming out onto the field before every play? If that's the case, I'm impressed. I would have thought there's too much going on just making sure your own personnel are in position.
I am not sure what play will do this, but I think somehow Lee Evans will catch a TD from Peyton against the Broncos.

best situation, in my view:
Bills beat the steelers.
Jets lose to the Rams.
Indy beats the Broncos. Buh-bye broncos.
Bills are #5, Jets #6.
Jets go to Indy. Bwa! Indy wins.
Bills go to San Diego, where I believe we'd win pretty handily, and confuse and frustrate their fans in historic fashion.
Bills go to Foxboro still pissed about that last debacle. Determined to play their hearts out, the Bills eke out a win with a late Lindell field goal. (!)
Indy goes into Pittsburgh and rips them a new one, leaving Cowher's jaw fixed in permanent underbite.
Then the Bills travel to Indy in the AFC Championship game, where the Bills D and special teams shocks the Colts and the football world.
Meanwhile, the PACKERS, who can't stop anyone from running on them, somehow Favred their way past the Eagles in the NFC Championship game.
Bills 33
Packers 20
Correct me if I am wrong, but I don't think this can happen. The Bills would play Pittsburgh after beating San Diego and Indianapolis would play New england in this scenario. In general, I believe, Pittsburgh plays lowest seed available in the second round.

Pennington has always had arm strength problems. Corners just need to play tight and jump on the routes. It's just a matter of time before he's completely figured out and ends up on the weak-armed trash-heap with Danny Wuerffel.
So, Drew...

The only time the "experts" will predict the Bills in the playoffs is after they have made it.
These guys should be in my line of work - when I forecast 8 out of every 10 storms right, I get chastised for thetwo I get wrong. The NFL 'experts" predict wrong over 50% of the time..and yet we keep coming back to them for their expert opinions.
God are we stupid or what?
(oops, gotta go. Mort is answering questions on ESPN. he's ALWAYS right)
I love you Dave Eichorn. I have never said an ill word toward you.

NY Jets -3 Favorite (Away)
Denver -8.5 Favorite (Home)
In weeks 15, 16 and 17 home underdogs have a high tendency for upsets.

Hey, don't get me wrong, I liked Flutie a lot, but I don't think that benching Flutie was really the worst injustice in the world. In hindsight it may look bad, but the offense that year was doing terrible considering the talent.
-
That usually only happens when you are a QB who can't throw over his linemen, is carried by the defense and only scores about 17 points a game.
-
Why do we assume that the Rams will lose if they are out of the playoff hunt? Also, they are not just alive for the wild card, they also have a shot at the NFC West if they win out and Seattle loses next week. (They swept Seattle this season).
-
If anything, Denver's win has reduced the chances of the Bills making the playoffs to 20-30% let's say. Not to take you literally, but that's a lot different than the million to one shot of the lottery.
Nevertheless, as far as the decision here goes. I would highly recommend the Steelers game over the Indy game even if the Indy game was a sure-bet to occur. It's just so much more enjoyable to be around like-minded fans cheering for your team than to be in enemy territory. Maybe, that's just my personality though....

Not necessarily.
I have a friend in Buffalo 2 years out of UB probably working 65-70 hours. I know a girl in NY working 50ish. Know others who work 90 for 1/2 the year.
Yup. I wouldn't go to a private school (law, MBA )unless it is a very good one. That is a HUGE loan hanging over your head when you want to buy a house, a ring etc.
I have the possibility of getting the first two years at a top 14 at 33% of tuition. But that's still serious dough and there is a real opportunity cost.

like anything- a top school will help open a lot of doors for you, but if you do really well at any school you have a shot.
You couldn't pay me to go to take one of the jobs the top school students take here in NY - 80+ hour weeks etc. Make a ton of money but it's not for everyone.
Are 80 hour weeks pretty much what all law graduates end up starting up doing?

Just wanted to thank everyone who has offered their opinions so far. I know very few people in the law profession so this helps out a lot. I don't think though that many have come forward to say that they wish they had gone to law school when they hadn't...

It depends on the day. I enjoy the people I work with and when things go well, I get alot of satisfaction. There are other things I'd rather be doing but my career track was somewhat determined by my decision to join the military out of high school. A decision I made because I didn't want to spend another 4 years listening to academics blather at me about things that aren't very important in the grand scheme of things.
If I hated my job I would quit and do something else because it's a luxury I have at this point.
What do you do, if you don't mind me asking.
-
Yeah I don't want to do it for the money either. Money is nice, but it isn't worth it if you hate what you are doing every day when you wake up. Do you enjoy what you do? Whatever that is?

I think being a lawyer is a great career idea, you'll always have job security. You can sue anyone for anything in this country. If you suck, you can either become a politician and protect your lawyer buddies by blocking any meaningful tort reform or hang a shingle and sue doctors. There's nothing like the satisfaction of making your living off someone else's back. Just ask John Edwards, he made millions and got to run for Vice President.

Yeah, see that's the thing. I don't see myself as the trial lawyer suing everyone type. That's my concern.

Apologies for those who hate off-topic posts. So I graduated from college last year and after hesitating last spring, I am thinking I may go through with law school this fall. I know there are a few people here who have gone to law school have been to law school and some who are now lawyers. If there are any folks who took a non-traditional career after law school I would be interested in hearing about them too.
Basically, I am curious about advice about knowing whether law school is the right thing to do and advice about the field in general. Also any advice about the law school experience itself.
Anyway, looking forward to hearing from some of you folks.
Thanks.
