  1. Aaron had grown up believing Christians could out-populate atheists and Muslims by scorning birth control; Christina had been taught the Bible-based arithmetic necessary to calculate the age of a universe less than 8,000 years old. Their education was one in which dinosaurs were herded aboard Noah’s ark — and in which the penalty for doubt or disobedience was swift. Sometimes they still flinched when they remembered their parents’ literal adherence to the words of the Old Testament: “Do not withhold correction from a child, for if you beat him with a rod, he will not die.” “It’s specifically a system that is set up to hide the abuse. ... At some point, you become so mentally imprisoned you don’t even realize you need help.” Christina Beall The Bealls knew that many home-schooling families didn’t share the religious doctrines that had so warped their own lives. But they also knew that the same laws that had failed to protect them would continue to fail other children. “It’s specifically a system that is set up to hide the abuse, to make them invisible, to strip them of any capability of getting help. And not just in a physical way,” Christina said. “At some point, you become so mentally imprisoned you don’t even realize you need help.”
  2. This is an interesting read on the revolt of home schooled children (now parents) https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/the-revolt-of-the-christian-home-schoolers/ar-AA1bSchJ
  3. https://www.newsweek.com/chick-fil-conservative-backlash-diversity-1803387 Chick-fil-A is receiving an onslaught of conservative ire after the company's Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) initiative spread across social media. "One of our core values at Chick-fil-A, Inc. is that we are better together," reads the company's website, which now includes a DEI section. "When we combine our unique backgrounds and experiences with a culture of belonging, we can discover new ways to strengthen the quality of care we deliver: to customers, to the communities we serve and to the world. We understand that getting Better at Together means we learn better, care better, grow better and serve better." Approximately 80 percent of United States employers have DEI initiatives, according to Corporate Compliance Insights. Brands like Bud Light and Target have recently experienced backlash and market shifts due to boycott efforts after the beer partnered with transgendered activist Dylan Mulvaney and Target released "tuck-friendly" swimsuits, that allow trans women who have not had gender-affirmation surgery to conceal their genitals, ahead of LGBTQ+ Pride Month in June.
  4. It is a religious issue. Boycott a company over a biblical injunction? Fine, but if you are representing an organization that does not support your views, just shut up, or get a different job.
  5. Obviously most sexual abuse takes place in the home. Mom's new boyfriend is a usual suspect
  6. The biblical reason to boycott corporations? He needs to shut up and throw balls
  7. President Biden’s capacity to overperform after an onslaught of negative press and Democratic hand-wringing is second to none. He did it with the Inflation Reduction Act, the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, NATO solidification and expansion, and now with the debt ceiling deal. It’s hard to conceive of an outcome more favorable to Biden. Recall where this began: the Republican House Freedom Caucus making promises such as repealing much of the Inflation Reduction Act (including eliminating $80 billion in new funds for the Internal Revenue Service), capping nondefense spending at fiscal 2022 levels for a decade and blocking Biden’s $400 billion proposed student debt relief. None of that happened. https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2023/05/30/biden-debt-limit-deal-making-skill/
  8. A financial melt down would, that what you want? Just read your own crap, it will go to the top of the list
  9. Another Republican who wants to crush the economy so he can blame someone else. Disgusting human being
  10. But not the countries that bought, shipped and worked them as slaves?
  11. I have to write my lawyer today and tell him we do not want to drag out our case against this guy, we just want a decision. The lawyer wants to try and impose a fine on this dude, but there's no way we will ever collect and we will just be stuck with the bill. Lawyer just wants to drag it out. Every phone call is like $200. I put a cease and desist order on contacting the lawyer for everyone involved on our side. Blah!
  12. Putin needs to wake up and get out. End this war. It's all on him
  13. Are you aware that Trump lost the 2020 presidential contest?
