  1. I'll be watching it, probably NOT in HD (CRAP!), on my 50-inch TV in my living room. Wife is out of town, so I can yell and scream without guilt!
  2. Anyone know where a good truss can be purchased?
  3. Isn't Tuesday the standard day off for NFL Players? What's the problem here?
  4. Ditto, Dib! Get Tivo and avoid TV/Radio/Cellular until after you've watched the game. I do it all the time!
  5. I've begun to consolidate trips. I only drive 5.5 miles to work, so I can't really change the habit related to that. Riding a bike isn't possible, because it would only make me a target, and I don't care to be one of those. I've found myself taking off slower. Mostly, I've found myself thinking about conservation a lot more. That is, until I take my boat out tomorrow.
  6. Way to go Tater! Won't be long before you're taking him to the Palm Isle to meet the waitress, or to Florida on a Southern Tour where he'll meet an underwater specialist. Tell him to watch out for Ogilthorpe, 21-22, big afro, a real cementhead; the worst goon in hockey today. Congrats!
  7. Hockey Hall of Fame is awesome!
  8. That's because Metro sucks and is ridiculously overpriced and undermanaged. Paying for parking. Are you kidding me? Somebody had to say it.
  9. Hey, I'm typing this message from that VERY Coast Guard Station. I just transferred here from HQ (Downtown - yuk!). I have a 5.5 mile commute. Woo hooo!
  10. If you worked at the Springfield Mall Station, living in Lorton or Springfield would work for you. If you can get the Army Corps to pay for a house, then do it. I'm an active duty USCG CWO and have lived here for four years. I bought my first townhouse in Springfield in 2001 and sold it for $160K more than I paid for it in 2004. I bought my second townhouse in Lorton last year and it's already gone up over $100K. PM me for more information.
  11. I live in Lorton. I routinely go right near the mall to go to Home Depot. Never takes me more than 15 minutes, no matter what time of day/traffic. Lorton has its problems, but it's a decent place to live. You can buy a townhouse here for around 400-500K. Got cash? Fort Belvoir is the way to go for you. You should check out the housing there.
  12. Hybla Valley is a dump. Dude, read the Fairfax County crime reports. Lots of gang activity in Hybla Valley - stay away from there.
  13. Judging from your housing allowance, you're an E6. You should look into getting housing on Fort Belvoir. They're building some really nice, brand new housing on the base there. You should be able to rent something for your housing allowance, but if you want safety and security, the base is the way to go. There's a lot of gang activity in Fairfax County and Alexandria. Keep your kids away from that crap.
  14. It's been obvious from the get-go that Wire had a very good upbringing.
  15. You can order a whole bunch of Buffalo-style foods here, including Weck if you're not fortunate enough to have a Wegmans nearby! Buffalofoods.com
  16. Yeah, Giants Stadium is in FREAKING NEW JERSEY!!!!
  17. This guy is scum. What ever happened to honoring your contract? It's only a matter of time before Willis does this, too
  18. I've already got Tivo set up for it, Fez. I really like a lot of the FX shows. Rescue Me is really good, too. See ya!
  19. After watching it frame-by-frame in Quicktime, it sure looks real to me. Pretty fuggin awesome!
  20. NFL - Joe Montana MLB - Babe Ruth NBA - Michael Jordan NHL - Gretzky Tennis - ? Golf - Nicklaus NASCAR - Richard Petty Track and Field - Jesse Owens Swimming - Spitz Boxing - Ali
  21. Or maybe you're not spongeworthy!
  22. Chuck Long and Andre Ware also come to mind as names you could mention....
  23. For those of you badmouthing my beloved Cleveland (I'm originally from West Seneca), stop it. You don't know what you're missing, and you can only wish that Buffalo was as great a place to live as Cleveland. I've lived in both cities in the last 10 years, and Cleveland is light years ahead of Buffalo in all aspects of life. As for places to eat after the game, go to Panini's in the Flats. Get an overstuffed turkey sandwich and a beer or two. The sandwich is grilled turkey, cheese, fries, and coleslaw on freshly baked bread. Very satisfying after a night of whooping it up. East 6th street at the top of the Flats has a lot of happening joints. Jacobs Field is not the mistake by the lake. It is one of the nicest ball parks in the country, smart guy. Big Tribe bars are anything open on E. 9th Street before the game. Bars close at 0200, which is difficult for Buffalonians to comprehend (it was tough on my brother and his buddies when they came for weekends - they couldn't get used to going out at 9PM instead of 11PM!). Have fun! Cleveland is a great place! PM me for more information if you'd like.
  24. I'll take an XL mailed to me please. PM to follow.
