we need to pray von gets healthy in the offseason and returns to form.
I'd be trying to find a way out of his contract and also that of Tre White during this off-season.

Maybe, but he hasn't shown nearly enough yet for me to be comfortable handing him the job, and Harty and Sherfield shouldn't be on the roster next year. All else being equal, I would definitely be taking a WR in R1 and probably another one in the mid rounds.

Was he not open? No replays at stadium.
Kincaid was wide open when Allen threw it. He had two or three steps on the defender. If Allen had placed it five yards further downfield, it might have been a TD.

How many drops do we have this year? 100? My god
I don't know, but about half of them have been on those damned screen passes.

If I had a vote, it would be for Baker Mayfield. He was basically discarded as trash by the Browns and two years later has re-emerged as one of the best QBs in the NFC.

As I've been saying for the last few years...just because the Bills are primarily built as a passing team and that the rules favor the passing game, that doesn't mean that a good running game isn't valuable and worth investing in.
-
James Cook and the OL deserve the most credit, but I'd just give it to the entire team, including the coaching staff. They pretty much destroyed the Cowboys in every aspect of the game.

Accounting for pass attempts, sacks and running plays, if you're going to put the ball in the QB's hands around 750 times per season, you're going to have to put up with some turnovers. I do think Allen's fumbles are an issue, but the career average of 1 INT per 40+ pass attempts is definitely manageable as long as he's putting points on the board. Matt Stafford led the league in INTs in 2021...the year they won the Super Bowl. Even this season it's been manageable and the biggest issue usually hasn't been the two or three extra INTs he's thrown over the course of the season, but that the offense was stalling out far too often in the final weeks with Ken Dorsey at OC. That's not to say there's no room for improvement and that he shouldn't work to eliminate as many INTs as he can, but it's not the end of the world.

I definitely think they're good enough to do it, but I have considerably less confidence that they actually will.

Here you go. Gabe didn’t mess up.
The Jaguars and Dolphins were in a much better position to cover the middle on those two plays. If Davis just runs straight upfield against the Eagles, he's going to run right past the defender and there's no one else back there. Yes, he still gets open to the outside corner, but it's a much more difficult throw for Allen, especially with the Eagles blitzing, and it puts the CB between them. Watching that, and knowing it's an option route, I strongly suspect that's a mistake by Davis.

How many of those were drops…he also had 81 rushing yards and 2 rushing tds
He should have had six TDs in that game, at least. Cook dropped one early and then there's Davis running the wrong route at the end.

He is impressed, and also comments on how ***** the media is toward Josh and how unjustified it is.
He's right. If you're asking the QB to throw and run the ball 50+ times a game, you're going to have to deal with some turnovers.

Bass is being out kicked like McD is being out coached.
A 95% FG conversion rate would be right in line with the best three to five kickers in the league each year. For that to be the total against the Bills this far into the season is very likely a statistical abberation. It doesn't necessarily say anything about Bass, though again, this hasn't been his best year.
-
He's had some frustrating drops lately, but he's also played well enough as a whole that I don't think there's any real issue. It just seems like there's a collective case of bad luck going around this team this year.

Yet somehow in same conditions on same field opposing kickers are 19/20 - 95%. Meanwhile Tyler Norwood is 78.3%. %’s matter. Diff between winning and losing my friend.
The year-to-year league average is usually in the mid 80% range, so that 19/20 stat would seem to be a statistical outlier.

He did, but I'm not going to sit here and pretend that either kick in that kind of slop was a guarantee.

There's nothing wrong with him. I agree, he's not having his best season, but today he had one blocked and missed a 48 yarder in a downpour. That's not something I'd panic or worry about moving forward.

They wont fire McDermott before the end of the year, but I'd be looking at the remaining games as an audition for Joe Brady.
Regardless, I don't want another defensive HC. Ever.

I didn't realize they had changed the rules to allow reviews of penalties.

In the short term, probably more of the same. Perhaps better playcalling tendencies, but there's not enough time to make major changes to the offensive philosophy at this point.

Sure why not. Don’t care about interceptions as he’s throwing them to the other teams almost on a weekly basis. But it’s no big deal. I’m sure there’s no stats at all that supports losing the turnover battle in a game leads to losing games. No, it's really not a big deal unless the QB is throwing an unusually high number of them. 14 or 15 a year, which is what it has been before now is definitely manageable. The Bills' record in recent years before this one is proof enough of that.
Whatever is wrong with this offense is more than just interceptions.

He isn't at 2:1 right now. His INT% is 3.1 this year, almost as high as his rookie year and one of the highest in the NFL.
You want a 3:1 ratio anyway, not 2:1.
I'm not defending his play as of late. There's more going on than just the interceptions. I'm just saying that on general principle, the interceptions are not necessarily an issue as long as the offense is otherwise moving the ball and the QB is producing touchdowns. Right now, that's not the case.

IF (Caps IF), we clinch a playoff spot before the Dolphins game, would you rest Josh?

No, I wouldn't, unless it were to clearly benefit him and the team for the playoffs. If his injury isn't going to be worsened by playing, or be significantly improved over a week of rest, then let him play. Division title aside, the passing game has been off and they need the reps.
