You never saw The Swarm, did you? I was just watching bits of it on YouTube earlier this evening. Caine completely mails it in with that movie, and it's just terrible all the way around. Read the book that The Swarm is based on (same title) by Arthur Herzog. I read it in high school. That was truly a terrifying story.

That was a tremendous last few minutes...as good as I've ever seen.

Don't mean to make this political, but I agree 100% with bbb. That game seemed to be the start. Remember Reagan got elected later that year.

U.S. just upset the Canadians, 5-3. I was 10 years old when the Miracle happened. And if you remember, the game was not shown live on ABC. It was shown on tape delay...the game was over at about 7:40, and the broadcast started at 8:00. I remember seeing a crawl on the TV that the U.S. had beaten the Soviets, twenty minutes before the broadcast. Nonetheless, my dad, mom, brother and I watched the whole game. We wanted to witness history. And I remember Johnny Carson mentioning it at the start of his monologue that night.

I entered into a trivia contest a few weeks ago sponsored by WKNR radio here in Cleveland. I made it through the preliminary and reached the finals which were held today. Long story short, I made it through the brackets (there were about 50 people), answered two questions correctly and won a trip to Arizona for a few days of Indians spring training! I am officially the 2010 Trivia King of Cleveland. The winning question was "Where is the 2010 Major League Baseball All Star Game being held?" Answer: Anaheim. Kim and I will be heading to sunny Arizona in a few weeks. Between this and announcing my run for a county judicial position, it's been quite a week here!

I'm watching the postgame coverage online through WWL-TV's website (Channel 4 in New Orleans, their NBC affiliate). They've shown different shots from different places in New Orleans. Especially the French Quarter. Great shots.

I'm watching the Saints coverage online from WWL-TV in New Orleans. 43 years of frustration ends. Joy abounds in NOLA tonight.
