Not good enough for the Texas program. The expectations for programs like that are no more than 1 loss per year, conference championships, beat the rival, recruit best talent in-state and nationally, and challenge for national titles. He didn’t do any of that, other than maybe beating Oklahoma at some point. I’ve always thought he was a good OC. But he’s not well thought of as an HC and he’s now as “offensive analyst” for the Bears.
