Too small of a sample size to determine nfl success for a Day QB. He has one QB who played in his system who had been the NFL for one season (Fields). He was Haskins Qb coach and Burrow’s QB coach for 2 years but it was Urban’s offense and burrow didn’t play any significant time in it. sark just got to Texas last year so can’t hold Herman’s recruiting failures against him, but if he doesn’t hit it out of the park with all that talent In Texas he will be gone too. Especially since he’s going to be in the SEC soon.

Absurd WR talent and a pro style, pass heavy offense at Ohio State plus a former NFL QB coach at HC I don’t know much about Texas’s WRs but they should be recruiting well given the talent in that state and Sark throws the ball a lot too

No one knows who will win the job or how good either of them are or will turn out to be. I believe they were both considered 100.0 (perfect) prospects in recruiting rankings. Both have red flags though.

Yes, Qbs do like to play for Ryan Day. However, he wasn’t going to play as soon as he wanted.

He is from there and was originally committed there before he flipped to Ohio state. Also Sark offense is a big draw for QBs

They were were the only ones actually willing to sign him to that contract. They didn’t win the right to sign him to it. They essentially ended up bidding against themselves. If Atlanta had offered the same contract they would be the team going through this right now. That was where he wanted to go.

He lit up his wallet by reclassifying so he could be eligible for NIL, but got to Columbus way too late - Mid august, then got covid, went home for awhile, etc - to have an opportunity to play any meaningful snaps on 2021. Then he knew he wasn’t unseating Stroud this year so he left.

I can think of some words to describe this but genius isn’t one of them. Mayfield is not playing for the Browns again. It is untenable. That ship has sailed.
