It’s not? Can you name any QBs who failed because of height?
most dont even get a shot, you have to be exceptional just get a D1 offer. Mayfield himself had to walk on at 2 schools cause colleges werent going to give him a chance. I just coached a great high school QB. One of the best I have seen, not 1 d1 offer because he was 5'11. Literally had college coaches tell me they just cant recruit him cause of his size.

His height is a factor, there is no question about it. Some scouts take measurables more seriously than others. Yes he is a good qb but to say his height isnt a big deal is foolish

So because he didnt run the 40 you wouldnt draft him? Thats pretty smart, he is arguably the qb with the highest ceiling, and its smart that he didnt run. Let his film do the talking. His 40 can only hurt him.

No he didn't.
Lowest avg/carry, second lowest avg/game. so yea he did. Historically backs fall off a cliff around 30. He is on the back 9 of his career not the front. To expect the same output as hes previous 3 years would be foolish.

If he's as good as advertised, then his height won't matter. It hasn't held Brees or Wilson back. It didn't hold Flutie back, either. The only red flag on Mayfield really is his height. Of course, being really tall didn't do much for Mike Glennon or Brock Osweiler.
Height did hold flutie back as he spent a decade in the CFL. It's why Brees was a 2nd round pick and Wilson a third.. Many front office people look at the measurables and tend to grade them lower because of them.

What about McCoy's history says he's due for a below average year?
History of 30yr old RB. Last year McCoy showed signs of slowing down.

Just another RGIII, what team is he playing for?
honestly you dont watch football do you? Cause they are nothing alike, and ran 2 totally different offenses.

how many years did TT ride a bench in Baltimore and while there how many games did he actually start and win ???
Dalton is average? imo he's better than Joe Flacco.
So McCarron has a playoff TD that makes him better than TT. By this logic your Dalton is better than Flacco statement couldnt be dumber. Flacco won a superbowl!

Proving the point that you are the know nothing. AJ has a passing playoff touchdown and TT has zero. Before you criticize someone make sure of your facts.
What does that prove? Doesnt prove/mean a damn thing. TT has been a starter the last 3 years while McCarron has been sitting the bench behind an average QB.

Doesnt seem to be able to read a Clemson, NC State or Mississippi St defense at all. What would he do against Patriots?? Oh, sure he looks great against Syracuse and Kentucky but who doesn't???
LOL you my friend know nothing about the game of football..

That has to be the saddest thing to realize, that the over rated power midget is stil in the conversation for best since Kelly.
I'm a fan no matter who they draft. Might not like it at 1st but I'll put few scoops of sugar on top and choke it down if I have to
how the hell is flutie over rated?

How? I heard the same thing when Manzeil was about to get drafted. That he was the best. Him and Baker play the same style of football and have the same attitude problems.
Its not even close. Mayfield sits in the pocket goes through the progressions, Manzeil ran around waiting for the play to break down. Mayfield has the football IQ and the arm. Manzeil threw the ball up to Mike Evans. You obviously know nothing about football.

I still say Hughes is a legit starter for us
Agreed, but hes horrible against the run, he should be more of s situational guy.. either way 2 of 4 lineman isnt good lol

Yet arguably the Bills best QB since Kelly was 5'8" Douglas Flutie

Yes they should have, and they were. They qualified according to NFL rules.
1 minute ago, nucci said:Sure but were they REALLY a playoff team? Even though they made the playoffs and played a playoff game, were they a playoff team?
The answer is no. McD tried to throw the season by starting Peterman, but after his disaster of a start he was left with no choice but to go back to TT.. The D played out of their mind the first 6 8 games. Then the Bills schedule at the end of the season made the playoffs realistic... But they were no way a playoff team. Right now the roster has no talent. Backups at LB and WR, only 1 legit starter on the Dline. below average Oline, no depth at RB(and old). ? at QB... this is a 4-6 win team

You never answered my question. Lol Jackson is one read and run, scrambling quarterback. Why so much love for such little talent.
Do you know anything about football? Bobby Petrino runs a more complex offense than 1 read. Watch Jackson its obvious he goes through progressions. Yes certain RPO (not sure you know what that means) are 1 read, but thats the definition of an RPO play.

Lets put race aside.. why not just say Josh Allen reminds you of Cardale? Why is it always white and black with some of you people.

Oh yeah
the Taxslayer Bowl.4 INT's!!!!!!!! LOLJackson will be drafted before Allen, and by your logic all the QBs have that flaw.

I fully agree.
Put Mayfield's skill set in Allen's body and he's the consensus #1 pick.
Put Allen's skill set in Mayfield's body and I'm not sure he gets drafted...
Allens skills in mayfields body and hes playing D3 at Buff state

I don't know if he's by far the best, but I think he's the best. I think he's easily the safest option with the highest probability of becoming a top 10 QB.
Its not close hes the best QB. If he were 6'3" he would be the consensus number 1

AJ > TT. So it is possible but don't count on the Bengals to save out ass this year.
This is funny. somehow a proven NFL starter is worse than a qb thats never really played.

IF hes done I dont think the Bills can afford to trade up for a qb. Way too many holes and possibly the worse OLine in the NFL. Not a good mix
