If we can't use projections or any information that the media gives us, then your thread doesn't make any sense.
How are we to know, since none of us work with an NFL team if Mahomes is a better prospect than any of this years crop?
well if the Bills take a qb in the first round and trade up to do so we'll know in 2-3 years.

No. Mahomes didn't really start climbing until about this time last year. He was a late 1st/early 2nd round pick as far as projections.
Projections? He went 10. Projections are media driven. An actual NFL team took him 10th. your statement doesnt make sense.

A topic I havent seen talked about much. Is Mahomes a better prospect than what the Bills could possibly get this year? If so any trade up can/would look really foolish.

He's #3 on the Broncos depth chart. How many #3's have we had that were the "QB in waiting?"
the Broncos starter Keenum. lol

Why are people still on this Jackson dream? The Bills have shown more interest in Mike White than Lamar Jackson.
You realize "interest" is made up by the media. Scouts, GMs do not say a word to anyone outside the organization about who they may or may not have interest in.

There is no way they could be thinking that as of now. Knee and wrist injuries left Chad unable to show much in 2017. They probably will get a QB there because they won't expect to be drafting there again soon. Contrary to Promo's take, I think there is a very good chance that he shows well this spring and fall. He is very athletic, has elite arm talent and makes surprisingly good decisions with the ball while playing his fear none style. The Broncos may be in the mood for a QB like that.
Personality wise, I do not think he is dumb so much as emotionally undeveloped. Maybe permanently so. Most ultracompetitive people are jerks compared to the rest of us. They are fun to watch on the field but often come up short off of it.
The good news is that this trait can work well for a QB in the NFL. Do you want your leader to say "Nah, I won't go get my brother out from the bottom of that pile at the other team's bench because it's a bad career move."? All reports are that he seemed well liked at Ol' Miss by fans and teammates and he did things there no other QB had. They were sick of losing to 'Bama, LSU and Auburn every year. I do not think Chad's personality flaws are much different than say his Uncle Jim or Brett Favre. He is just more exposed in the age of social media.
Don't disagree at all. In fact he's a lot like his Uncle. JK wasnt the greatest guy in the world in his early years.... I just a thought CK could be thought of as the guy. This all goes to Hell if the #1 or 2 rate qb falls to them.

0 chance Allen goes 1. No team is risking the first pick on a complete gamble. Rudolph comes from a 1 read air raid offense, He'll be lucky if he goes in the second round.

if they don't go qb that probably means either barkley or chubb are there so i don't see them trading down.
True, but do the Bills add Hughs, or McCoy to compensate for them missing one or the other. Just a thought, this team right now on paper isn't going anywhere so trading hughs or mccoy really doesnt hurt the Bills if they get their QB

Yes, Kelly was a Top QB prospect going into his senior. He has size, athletic, big arm. Injury and more off field issues ruined him. My point is I dont think at 5 the Broncos are taking a QB, and could be willing to trade down with the Bills.
-
The broncos signed Keenum and are rumored to still covet a QB. kelly was a top QB prospect going into his senior year, but injuries and more off the field problems caused him to fall off. I think he is the QB in waiting there which leaves another spot for the Bills to trade up with.

Nah, see my edit. It is about rushing the passer. EDGE Rusher. Not setting the edge. That's the other side of the field.
Thats exactly what Im saying lol

I... dont think that's entirely correct.
The term EDGE started getting used with players being swapped between 3/4 and 4/3. In the 4/3, the edge rusher is considered a DE, in the 3/4 he's a OLB. Instead of calling a guy a DE and then getting confused when he "changes" to OLB, they just call the position EDGE. Because a DE in the 3/4 is more of an interior lineman.
Had nothing to do with "setting the edge", although that could be one of their duties. It's just more about simplifying position names with different schemes.
The edge guy comes from outside the tackle (7tech in 4-3). setting the edge is a DE playing in a 5tech (typically) or 7 shade over the TE. His job generally is to set the edge and force the RB either inside or out (or spill) depending on the D scheme.
-
Typically your weak side edge guy coming from a 7 tech in a 4-3 scheme. He is a pass rusher, and usually isnt regarded as a good player against the run. in a 3-4 he is the 4 rusher usually coming from a stand up position.

Who do you think could be a steal in rounds 3-7. If hes there with the first pick in the third I think the Bills could be getting a day 1 starter in JC jackson from maryland. Got in trouble at UF and kicked out, went to JUCO and ended up in Maryland. Sound athletic DB with good ball skills.

Not clear whether or when he will be ready to play in 2018. Bad foot injury requiring skin grafts. Altercation with a golf cart while on vacation.
That sucks, looked like he had a bright career

What about Alex Boone as suggested by Sal C. in his tweet last night?
I like the Brian Cushing idea as well!
That's the thing, people are freaking out about the LG leaving. You can find guys to adequately replace these guys we've lost, and LG is one of the easier positions to replace .
You can't say any of that about a great QB.
Get the QB first, and THEN figure out the rest, there are answers out there.
LG leaving is a big deal, thats why there is talk of the guard from Notre Dame being drafted so. Guards need to be athletic in a power run scheme and theyre not that easy to find.

Not sure why Breeland is still unsigned. may not be a great corner but could definitely help any team. Not to mention hes rather young.
-
this mean nothing as to if they are moving up or not. Teams have to do their homework on top players in case certain scenarios happen. Doesn't mean they are or are not trading up.

It's April, the final roster isn't close to being done....still have the draft and you're saying 4 wins at the most? Would you care to wager on this? I'll bet you a reasonable sum of money the Bills win more than 4 games this upcoming season
4 is hopefully exaggerating. But im 100% in belief they are a 0-6 win team at the most... Take a step back and look at this roster. Its horrible.

he's already in another thread predicting 4 wins. let him have his fun.
a team with no Oline, WR,LB, QB, and no depth at DB.. they are more a 4 win team than they are 8.
-
With essentially is closest friends gone, does Williams rethink playing and end up retiring as well? Beane has gutted this team and news like today really hurts the Bills. Lining up for at most a 4 win team next year. With this current Oline Shady has little value to this team.

Losing a guard doesn't change our draft plans. The Bills apparently were ready to move on from Richie if he didn't take the pay cut.
Its not about losing a guard its about losing 3 pro bowl caliber lineman

My point is I think my OPINION that Denver may be willing to trade out of the 5th spot.
