which were cherry picked?  the ones that were responsive to the other poster?

you're right though: I left out that he has missed games every year except this season...where he had 2 games with zero targets despite being on the filed for more than half the snaps.   Oh, and that he is the 13th highest paid TE who ranks 39th in yards among TE's.

    thanks for pointing this out!

You’re posted Bills negativity……yet again……..about a TE in a thread about a former Bill who plays a different position.   If your going to go off topic you should be optimistic about your Pats instead.  It’s a better look and they’re improving.  Or maybe just go nuclear and talk about OJ.  Dawson Knox?  Ok.

he played hurt, hardly missed games.

Bills are paying Knox 10-13 million for  7% career drops and 30 catches a year.  That's not a joke?

Lol your team drafted Tyquan Thornton in the 2nd and here you are cherry picking stats to make the Bills look bad.  Again.

When he came to Buffalo, he took a top three defense, and put them in the bottom three. And it’s not as if he was doing a rebuild. He made one change of starting personnel from the previous season.

If he gets the Jets gig, I hear Adolphus Washington and Reggie Ragland will be unretiring.

Sports talk guys aren't the people you want making these decisions.

Personally, in this particular case, this sports talk guy is EXACTLY the guy I’d like to have making THIS decision.

I'd take Drake Maye over him already and no way I'm benching Caleb to play Daniel Jones despite some of Caleb's struggles.

In Vegas, Tennessee or Carolina sure I'd start him.

I don’t think it’s about starting this year for either Jones or the acquiring team.  I think it’s about at least the possibility of starting in the relatively near term future.  Rams is my best guess.  Stafford is old.  Jimmy G and Stetson aren’t roadblocks.

It is horrible.  BASIC in every sense of the word.

Most sophisticated fan bases would team up to reconstruct Mozart’s 41st as the game winds down.  They should never be irreverent and have a little fun unless their choice of music is approved by sophisticated experts.  You clearly have superior taste and should apply to be the official fun approval czar.

On the last interception by Mahomes to ice it, two things I noticed:

    • Rousseau got both held and facemasked on the play, no call. Crazy, but not surprising.
    • After the INT, Kelce did a little "golf clap"—not sure if that was a respectful clap, or a "hey, congrats on winning your Super Bowl" sarcastic clap. I kind of think it was the latter.

When you assume you know what that generally means but……..assuming  Kelce is being a douche bag is an accurate assumption 99.99999378994% of the time.

That’s skewed.  A football game is only 60 minutes.  The actual time there is action in a game is about 11 minutes.  So when we get 11 minutes of football, and one minute and 16 seconds of Taylor Swift, it’s extra nauseating

I’m shocked by that statistic and I bet others are as well.  Let me check.  Yup.

Obviously would love to have him back for this game, but it's definitely not the end of the world or anything approaching it.   He should be in a really good spot after the bye week.

Plus the bye week will allow time for him to think up more ailments.  I get that these “name” guys are tempting to GMs but they really should be avoided.

I actually feel like, with good coaching, the Giants are a playoff team.  There is talent on the roster and Jones has potential to be a top 15 QB

I agree with some of this and used to agree on the Jones part.  I can no longer agree with that.  He’s bad.  Putting him in the top 15 requires a misplaced decimal point.

  11. Not all that close to the airport but there used to be one called Shenanigan’s. It was a Bills bar at one point, but that was at least 8 years ago.  IIRC it was two buildings with a pavilion connecting them.  One of the buildings had clearly been a Pizza Hut but the place wasn’t bad.

I admit it.  I analyze almost every poop I take.  I take great pride in a solid, one or two-section, dark brown coil that seems to be more and more elusive as I age.  I will even try to use as little TP as possible to get a good look.  If you don't do it, you should!

You should change the thread title to “Poop assessments….love ‘em or hate em? “

So, I really wanted to get out of homer mode to try to understand why the Bills were called on successive plays for offensive holding. I am not trying to argue that the refs made the right or wrong call. Instead, I seek to understand why they made the calls they did.

First, some resources for those that want to look at them:

Summary and video tutorial from the NFL about the rule

    The official and full rule

Second, video clips of the plays:

    Dawkins:

Sorry guys I can’t find video that I can clip for this post. The play occurs at the 39 second mark before the half. If you have DVR - you will see Dawkins chop hands and the Miami defender falls to the ground. Possibly - in the course of the play Dawkins sits on the defender (the announcers call this out).

     Cybo:

The possible basis for the calls based on the rules (again not arguing the case for the refs):

    Dawkins:

The rule “If a blocker falls on or pushes down a defender whose momentum is carrying him to the ground, Offensive Holding will not be called unless the blocker prevents the defender from rising from the ground.”

It was a beautiful block until Dawkins sits or motions like he is sitting on the defender. The ref probably calls it for this reason. Frankly, Dawkins had no need to do it and it was stupid.

    Cybo:

The rule: “Use his hands or arms to materially restrict or alter the defender’s path or angle of pursuit. It is a foul regardless of whether the blocker’s hands are inside or outside the frame of the defender’s body. Material restrictions include but are not limited to:

    grabbing or tackling an opponent;

hooking, jerking, twisting, or turning him; or

    pulling him to the ground.

Penalty: For holding by the offense: Loss of 10 yards.”

In the video from Parrino at about the 5 second mark the Miami player’s jersey may move as if being tugged. It is exceptionally brief and not apparent from the camera angle is it is caused by Cybo grabbing.

The refs probably judged this as “restricting” the defender’s path.

Again, this is simply trying to look at the rules and plays objectively. Thoughts?

Now do the Chiefs right tackle.  Just pick a random passing play to analyze.
